I think they need to amp up the Vincat feelings--not necessarily a kiss or some kind of declaration, but these two have sizzling chemistry, so use it! MORE looks, more touches, more stares, more longing, more yearning and sometimes a hug! There is so much these two could do without ever kissing that would burn up the screen!
And I'm not into rushing romance, but what they do need to dive into is Cat's mom, Vincent's past, Muirfield, etc. Catherine and Vincent need to drive the show, both as the main couple and individual main characters.
Saturn Returns was fun and Worth was beautiful and Evan is a charming, great guy, but they're going way too Gossip Girl, laying too thick into triangle aspects. I think this yearning between Vincat needs to be established and hit hard to lock in the driving force of the show. After all, Jay said they were bringing romance back to the CW with this show--instead of just hooking up/lust/instant gratification. (paraphrasing of course)
But in a show that isn't guaranteed more than one season, they need to ignite the screen with these two--their feelings, their longing, their chemistry and their deep connection due to their back stories!
We need to see Vincent's struggle and his danger, and maybe not have Cat so casually dropping by while flirting with Evan. Where's the danger?? Again, I really like Evan, but the show's not locking in their core, establishing, power-house relationships strongly enough right now.
And again, I don't mean kissing! I don't care when/if they kiss. For lessons in how to light up the screen without kissing, just watch Clark and Lana in Smallville seasons 1-3-or heck, most of the series-- or basically all of Mulder and Scully in The X-Files...even Castle and Beckett in Castle.
Basically, Vincat need to have those touchstone, soulmate moments that anchor the show. They've had some, but the show needs to be careful with the teen melodrama plots. These characters are adults!
Lock it in, BATB!! Cause people are gonna get bored with ankle-deep plots.
