I might be wrong, but wasn't it Whizbang and Take5 Productions that refused to continue after S4, because they were not making any money off of it anymore. Did we not discuss that already in here? Where did you read that about Take5 and Whizbang? Although Weber seemed like he wasn't particularly upset by the decision. Maybe he was looking at the repetitive storylines and thinking, "Again, can't they think of anything else." Overall, Take 5 Productions president and CEO John Weber said while The CW made the final decision to not order more episodes, wrapping the series after four seasons also made sense from a creative perspective.
“We did four seasons and 70 episodes. It was a good long run and a very successful show for Toronto. I think it came to a successful conclusion,” Weber told Playback Daily.Read more: playbackonline.ca/2015/10/13/cw-ends-beauty-and-the-beast/#ixzz3xrb2SKvR

I read the article you posted above, but that was not the one I read somewhere before. It was right after the news of the cancellation came out and it said something along the lines that the show has not been making as much money internationally as they had expected to make it worth while for Take5 to do a 5th season. I went through my posts trying to find where I referenced it or where I answered to somebody else posting it, but I have written so much in here already that I just cannot find it. It could have been information from a tweet by an unreliable source that I read - one never knows about those. I honestly do not remember.

Hard to believe that a show like 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' is on par with the best ratings of our show....really hard to believe... Exactly! Lol. There viewers total are like 250,000 less than ours. Too bad they have more viewers in that key demo.

Which probably helps their ratings by at least +0.1, it's interesting that they have very similar ratings at ~0.5. BATB S2 and S3 never had any help from a strong lead in show. It's a moot point since the series will end, but I'll bet S4 ratings will be very similar to S3.

On a more positive note, BATB made the top 5 Nielsen twitter list!
I still can't figure twitter out. Last year, I'm sure that 301 had far more tweets, I recall something like 20k+, yet it didn't count as a top twitter trend. Go figure?

IMO this hiatus has just been too long! Most 'fringe fans' have forgotten about the show and moved on to other shows out there. Some of the comments on the IMDB were like: 'What? I though this show had been cancelled. Oh, well, I have forgotten what it was about anyway. I think we lost many fans in S3 when it did not deliver the romance they FINALLY expected and were promised by BK's (false/deluded) statement that he NOW knows what the beasties want. I know you BeastieBoy and many others out there liked S3, but I also know that many did not and lost patience with it and moved on. And it seems that the direction BK/the network chose to take did NOT generate many new fans.

This is something that the network does not understand that or they totally ignore
First off i think the program is good and it is sad that this is going to be the last season. but the problem is with the 1-2 seasons it was shown the same day and time in usa and canada (so the ratings were good) then they decided to change the days and all of a sudden this gets shown in canada 3-4 days before usa
This has then taken the turn that the torrents get uploaded the same day it is shown in canada and for this day and age people are going to download it to watch it instead of waiting a few extra days to watch it in usa. the ratings are lower because of this but it seems like the network don't understand this and look at the ratings as a sign that noone wants to watch this show anymore
If they wanted to get better ratings they would then take it and show it on the same day in both countrys and see that this show is a sucess. we should try and tweet them or message them on facebook and explain this because if we act maybe there is a slight chance we can save this show because it is not right that a show as good as this should be taken off the way at the fault of the networks and not the writers and actors

I see that you are new to the forum... this topic was discussed billions of times here and on social media, there are campains on Twitter, letters sent to the network... but the channel is not interested because the average age of BATB viewer is not interesting for them. If you look through this forum, you will find that lots of USA viewer watch it both on file download and live because they carea bout ratings; people that are not hard fan doesnt care and watch when they wanted and lots on Netflix or Itune too

I know we have discussed this problem at length, but I, too, wish the network would have TRIED to air BATB on the same day and time across both Canada and the US in order to see if the numbers changed any.
But the real problem is that it has been SO long since there were new episodes, and the network hasn't really advertised that it is back on. I mean, even "Downton Abbey" that had ratings we would give anything to have advertised EXTENSIVELY and made their cast do late-night shows and what-not EVERY season, even its last. And they only had 8 episodes a YEAR, yet they kept their primary audience and continued to GAIN viewers. (And their show survived unpopular plotlines and cast changes AND death of major characters to boot!)
It is what it is. In order to save BATB, the network would have had to treat it differently then it has always treated it before. And that is not going to happen.
But I really WOULD have liked to have seen the show aired on the SAME night and time in both countries, JUST to see if there WAS a difference in ratings.

The ratings continue to be very consistent for BATB S4.
403: 0.2 demo, .81M viewers 404: 0.2 demo, .84M viewers
Let's see if 405 has any increase, given the high interest in this particular episode. My prediction is that it remains similar to 404.
