it is for sure not a triangle Could this character "Wesley Atchisone" played by Jason Gedrick? I could not find any detail as to what character he was playing. Atchison is Cat's new partner. He shows up in episode 5 and is played by Brandon Gill. Not sure how much he will be around. I don't know about that site though. It seems like another Carter Matt, Yareah site that just cobbles together information and the editing, yikes -- famous movie "Wall of Wallstreet"meaning Wolf of Wall Street and "the two is set"

Sigh. My dearest Canadians, please understand, I must now stalk all of you. Because you will get my show 4 DAYS earlier than I will. And as my constant presence on the Spoilers threads will attest, I cannot wait ONE MINUTE LONGER for any possible news of episodes. There is no such thing as patience in BATB-land.
So please, dearest Canadians, go ahead and accept your fate and new Designated Role as the people who must watch and post and comment while the episode airs for you. Or I will be forced to find you. And Hiatus Syndrome has NOT been good to me. So you are forewarned about keeping episode secrets from my little Beastie heart. (And no fair, you lucky beasts, who will get the episodes 4 WHOLE DAYS before us!!!)

I'm absolutely positive that most, if not all, non-US beasties will watch it off of the Showcase site because they can't wait. I'm certain this will impact the on-line viewing rates off of the CW's site (i.e. lower on-line viewership for the network that matters most when it comes to renewal). Some US beasties are likely to watch it off Showcase too, hence perhaps an impact to live TV viewing on the CW. Even on this site, there will be discussions and spoilers revealed before the CW airs it in the US. Being a US west coast beastie, I'll be one of the last to see each episode live as I refuse to watch it early. This sucks!

If Showcase Canada does indeed air season three earlier than the States, there will be the backlash - "that Canada caused the ratings to fall". Let's face it, those of us who are rabid fans will watch (if able) on both the Showcase and CW. The show seems to have been doing well outside of the typical US market regardless. If the ratings are good anywhere, that is still positive news for our show. One thing I do recall - iTunes Canada does not post the show on the site until it airs in the US / is available on US iTunes. SHowcase.ca doesn't show a date yet. For BatB it's still "coming soon". www.showcase.ca/showsPlease don't blame Canada.

The CW should have a stipulation that other networks in other countries can't air the show prior to the CW. They can let them air it whenever they want, but not 4 days before, that's crazy! Remember there was an article last year about how BATB was the #1 most pirated show in NY. Why is that? The CW is free in the US, anyone can easily watch it off the website if they missed it. The only reason I can think of is fans who can't wait watching it off of Showcase. It's got to hurt the on-line viewership ratings for the CW and likely have some impact to live TV viewings.

Has anyone thought that maybe even though the show is owned by CW and CBS that since it's produced and made in Canada they have rights to when the show is shown? Maybe CW and CBS made a deal with Canadian television about them airing the show first. I don't know how this works but it most likely has to do with something we don't know.

The CW isn't the one licensing the show. CBS / CBS Studios International is the one licensing it. Maybe the first year, there may be some stipulation or attempt between the Canadian network airing the show and The CW to be in sync but once the show proves not to be a ratings hit, each network probably looks to schedule the show where they think it works best with their respective lineups. The Season 2 premiere of Beauty on Showcase only had around 116,000 viewers. For comparison, Outlander has over 300,000 on Sunday nights on Showcase. From what I've found, season 1 ratings of Beauty start off fairly well most countries it airs, but just as in the US, by the end of the season, the ratings have fallen. Maybe the studio is just glad to have enough countries that still buy it or pre-bought it that they let them air it when they want to.

In the case of Outlander, does the 300,000 include on-line viewing? At least Outlander airs on the same night in Canada and the US. But since in the US Outlander is on Starz, a paid subscription cable channel, I'm positive a large number of International & US watchers view it off of the Showcase website. I really don't give a cr@p about Outlander, but if the US ratings for S3 BATB tank even worse than S2, I'm sure the fact that Showcase airing it 4 days earlier will have been part of the reason. If Sundays are good for Canada, they could have premiered it the following Sunday on May 24.

Interesting reads especially the last article. I don't understand why they have no say. Can't see the reasoning behind that. And in most cases (for example u.k.) they show it after it has been broadcast in the u.s... This is puzzling to me as a general rule for shows.

On the contrary batb is there and will be there Also they show outlander first in the u.s on a Saturday and then in Canada on a sunday

What will count will be our massive presence with views on the official website of the CW
