Hate the end, Cat kissing Gabe and Vincent watching was too much for me and make me hate this episode. Rewatching I recognize that there were good parts, but the end was so frustrating for me that spoiled all the rest.

I'm unable to rewatch tonight. .I'm no where near my computer. But I won't lie and say I'm sorry I missed it. I could do without the three Gaberine kisses in this episode. The only parts I liked was the heartbeat scene and when when they were at the police station ....and when VINCENT told JT he loved Catherine poignant and sad. Vincent walking away after seeing Catherine kiss Gabe and then walking away.
Night all. .. be back next week for 2-14 Redemption mam these get tougher..
But we will see the light soon

Def not one of my favorite episodes. Did nothing for me. Didn't like the pace of the episode or the point ok ok its over 5 :00 am here and i didn't sleep yet so i don't know if i am making any sense ?! or even what i am doing here talking about one of the painful awful episodes of S2 imo ?! but to comment on the red part i honestly don't think there was any point of this ep or the whole Gabe arc ! it was just a cheep plot device to ruin Cat's character to get even with what they did to V's character ?! they knew by that time that the triangles were a very big failure , they knew they messed up enough with the fans by Tori's thing that they had to almost delete half her scenes to did even a little damage control ! and they knew too they would piss the fans more by that Gabe's thing , because lets face it we may expect wrong choices/decisions from Vincent but we never expect them from Cat ?! Vincent is a beast after all , has a corrupted DAN he tries very hard to control but still it effects him unwillingly ! but what is Cat's excuse ? she is our moral model , our north pole ?! despite all of that they still went for that stupid think and didn't ever bother to make it a little convinced ! it was as if they say ( yeah , yeah , we know it would never work out and its insane but we have nothing else to waste time on it or to give reason for the upcoming events , and there is no time also and no creative minds to come with something good instead ! so lets done with it , no need to look more into it or try to improve it cause no one would buy it anyway )! so starting from this ep let us introduce you to the new corrupted ugly copy of Cathrine Chandler ! this copy is weak , needy , is manipulated by Gabe , heartless , hypocrite <edited> ! be ready to see the strong independent woman take orders from her rebound guy ! be ready to hear her talk by his words to hers because she can no longer think or speak for herself ! be ready to see her double standards and her hypocritical ! i find it weird that in this ep it was the one time her instinct was right about Gabe but she didn't listen to it as she did in S1 and ep2/21 when she was wrong ?! and we think people learn from their mistake ? i thought after what Gabe did in S1 she would get that the best way to deal with someone like him is not to deal with at all ?! but no she had to take the nonsense to the end of the road to learn from her mistake and correct them by killing the devil by her own hand ! its funny how in S1 and ep2/21 although Vincent thought it was a bad idea for her to contact with Gabe at all ( and he was right by the way ) but he didn't try to forbid her ?! he let her do what she thought and waited to help and protect her if things went bad ! and yes she did stand and speak for herself with him and draw her lines -- unlike the yes girl she always was with Gabe ?! and some people say her relation with Vincent was unhealthy or she was his slave while her thing with Gabe wasn't like that ?! but still we never saw her acts like herself and be an equal full partner in relationship except for when she was with Vincent ! enough talk already ! i don't even know why i am commenting about this ep while i would never have the strength to rewatch it ?! but i would give it the benefit that it isn't as worse as next week ep ?! yeah for me ep 10, 14 were the worst 2 eps in the whole serie till now ! as i said before in ep 10 Vincent won the jerk jerk of the year award ! and in ep14 Cat won the hypocrite <edited> of the year award !

one more thing ? in ep 11 which supposes to be a few days ago from this ep Cat admitted she wasn't over Vincent yet , but here she was starting that thing with Gabe and she even told him in ep18 that she loved him , and in ep16 which was about a week after this one she told Vincent she loves him ?! so what does this mean ? did she in just 2 weeks stopped loving V then loved Gabe then stopped loving him to start loving V again ?! wow her heart must works by the light fast ! or she was in love with both of them in the same time which technically almost impossible and offensive to the epic vincat's love they keep talking about it ! never mind i guess it would be another unresolved issue like those we had since S1 till now ? it starts and finishes without any explanation ! just like Tori who came and gone without knowing the big important purpose of her or what exactly that thing between her and Vincent was ?! yeah , yeah we guess and analyzed but never got a decent explanation from the writers ! -- so lets just get used to this and hope they do better in S3 !

ok one more thing for real this time lol ( i guess the lack of sleeping is really getting into me ) as those episode are Cat's big fallen dawn ? they also the start of Vincent redemption ?! he started by admitted that he did screw up big time ! no more excuses or blaming others for his mistakes ! yeah the first step of healing is to admit you have a problem or sick in the first place ! and he unselfish let Cat goes to be with someone worthy ?! i mean that is the same Vincent who was (and will be again too lol ) jealous and territorial when it comes to Cat even when they were mad at each other ( remember his react and comment about her kiss with Patric ?) --- but letting her go is one thing and letting her go to be with Gabe in another different thing ?! what happened to his first instinct ? always to protect her ?! i mean hallo people he is Gabe ! <edited> sometime i think the only person in his right mind in this show is JT ! anyway my point is why we have to suffer in different periods from their fallen dawn ? why they didn't do those stupid , nonsense things in the same time then wake up and see the light , redemption in same time ? that would spare us from at least 4 very painful episodes ? and would give us just 4 eps to completely throw in the trash and forget they even happened !

Poor V that he had to see Gaberine kiss (but it serves him right for kissing Tori) I'm suure it was painful for him to see. Jay played that scene and V's emotions of torturedness by seeing Gabe & Cat kiss so well. just what I was thinking and for encouraging Cat to move on with Gabe. What was he thinking its one thing to step aside and leave Cat to make a decision to move on. It's another to the talk her out of her doubt and concerns about Gabe. Next time Vincent keep your mouth shut.

My only internet access is at the office, so I was not able to do the re-watch on Monday night (our office building is not exactly the safest place to be at night--at least in summer, it is still light out). So just now getting to my comments.
I will say that the first time I saw this episode, I HATED it and was depressed for days. DAYS. However, a re-watch after having seen the rest of the season allowed me to appreciate certain VinCat signs. Or at least appreciate the fact that you could see that VinCat REALLY wanted to be together and just needed an excuse. And how desperate BOTH VinCat were to preserve and fight for their "friendship." Yeah right. Even GABE didn't buy the "just friends" thing.
First, I had to re-watch episode 212 before I could contemplate WHY Cat was leaping forward towards a relationship with Gabe that her inner self was trying to talk her out of. At the end of 212, Cat walks in on Vincent in the cell with Tori. She sees Vincent being all sad. She thinks it is because he loved Tori. It hits Cat that Vincent really doesn't love her anymore and has moved on. And Vincent, feeling all unworthy at the WORST possible time, basically tells Cat that he was pushing her away before because he couldn't take losing her. So what Cat hears is that Vincent does not think that he, as a Beast, should be with Cat because it will only end in sadness as seen through what happened to Tori.
Up until the end of episode 212, I think Cat had secretly hoped that her newfound friendship with Vincent would lead them back to each other. Cat ALL BUT TELLS VINCENT THIS in episode 213 when she says that she had been putting time/energy into their FRIENDSHIP. (I'm referencing that scene in the dungeon, by the by.) And Catherine is basically trying to talk herself out of the relationship with Gabe OR LEAVE VINCENT AN OPENING to indicate that she shouldn't be with Gabe. But Vincent, trying to put Cat's welfare above his own, tries to talk her into realizing the New Gabe is Good. Stupid Vincent. REALLY stupid Vincent. But TRYING to be the Good Guy/Friend for Cat.
And it just says how desperate Vincent is to remain in Cat's life. And to be a POSITIVE person for her. When JT points out that Vincent has a WINDOW into maybe getting back with Cat due to the issues that seem to point to Gabe, VINCENT ADMITS that he got SO HAPPY in thinking that Gaberine might not start up. And Vincent realizing that he loves Cat and wants to be with her. But Vincent is still in Unworthy Mode (which, at this point in the season, I was still kind of thinking he WAS unworthy. I wanted his actions to say he was back on the right track. And his actions in this episode ARE those of a man putting what he thinks is what the woman wants first.) and DOES NOT SPEAK UP. He encourages Catherine, which just makes Catherine think that he really IS over her and happy for her to move on.
And Vincent will do anything for Cat's approval. He tries to be the friend she wants and does what she asks of him. Which gets him into more trouble by providing Sam with the perfect set-up. I LOVED how Vincent just came into Cat's apartment and literally tore Gabe away from her and held him against the wall when he thought Gabe was a possible threat to Cat. And it says EVERYTHING that Gabe recognizes that CAT AND VINCENT STILL WORK SO WELL TOGETHER, had talked about the case together, had planned the ambush and searching of Gabe's apartment together AND that Vincent was still CAT'S PERSON whose opinion and TRUST meant everything to Catherine. So Gabe asks VINCENT to tell Cat to trust him. SAYS EVERYTHING about what VinCat STILL mean to one another.
And yes, the Vincent walking away scene. And trying to push Gabe to forgive Catherine. So heartbreakingly sad. The writers wanted to make me forgive Vincent, and they did a good job with that through this episode.
I LOVED the camera angles in several of these shots in the episode. Often, even though a conversation may be taking place between two of the characters, the camera would always remain CLEAR on either the face of Vincent or Catherine when dealing with their new "friendship" and what each wanted and expected from said "friendship." Seeing Vincent's face as Catherine confronted him about what a friend should want for his friend, even if was an ex. Vincent's FACE said that he would do ANYTHING for her that she wanted if it would just get her approval (whether he thought it was a good idea or not). AND Vincent took RESPONSIBILITY for his actions in this episode, even when he meant well and it went badly. Said so much for his CHARACTER, which had taken a detour into something unrecognizable for too many episodes this season.
And it wasn't GABE that convinced Cat to accept Gabe as a boyfriend. Again, it was CAT's RELIANCE on Vincent's recommendation that made it all possible in the first place. All from her misconstrued notions that Vincent was really over her and wanted her to actually move on. So tragically sad. But hints that BOTH Vincent and Catherine want some excuse to find their way back to one another. So I can ignore the utter stupidity of the way Cat chooses to try to distance herself from her actual feelings and heart. She tries to AVOID heartache by ENSURING heartache. Sigh. When it clearly didn't even feel right to her. Cat SO questions herself, and Sam IS ABLE TO PLAY RIGHT INTO THIS by making Cat AGAIN question her own judgment by being able to so easily frame Gabe. So Cat thinks all her doubts are gone. When the episode shows us just WHY those doubts are so relevant in the first place! And how desperate CAT is to keep that relationship wtih Vincent, whether she wants to admit it yet or not. Tragic.
