And Vincent's EYES go gold as he wakes up when he realizes Sebastian must have gotten to Cat. AND HE REALLY FLASHES. And can't get his face to calm down because Cat was at risk. So MUST make sure the guy is dead.

Someone else's lie doesn't change us. Cat gets this when talking to Heather. I do like the point that lies kill relationships. Yet never in the episode (prior to the end) is Cat or Vincent really out of the relationship. Both react in anger and hurt because they ARE so in love and connected to one another that any hurt or lie really causes injury to their psyche.

This whole fire escape scene w/ VinCat just breaks my heart. Why cant couldn't you have put your feelings aside for once and just talked to V with no hidden agendas, comforted him and really have been there for him, like a girlfriend should be. V also lost a lot too. His losses don't make them any less important than your losses

The scene in the elevator where V saves C and has the flashes...him having heard her heartbeat as a call for help...so well done, so sad once again!

This last scene was so hard to watch. Felt so so sorry for both of them!

Even in anger, they have to reach out to one another and try to explain their reactions. Can't let go. And the way Vincent describes his flashes of her. He can't help but keep thinking on them over and over. And that he remembers her.

As much as it hurt to see Catherine close that window on him and her walk away was something I think Catherine HAD to do! I thought to myself WOW she finally got cojones and did what she had to and get tough with him. He learned the hard way. But as we know that was short lived and I think that she gave him ALOT of chances which he didn't fully take to heart.
Makes him wonder if being soldier is more important than Catherine. He is totally confused at this point as to what he truly wants.
Soldier or a relationship with a woman he now knows is telling the truth about their former relationship.
Feel sorry anyway for him

I have never believed that loving Vincent and after hearing him and looking his face she could just close the window in front of his face! This is not the Catherine who was ready to do anything for her love!

The sisters reconciliation and farewell is beautifully done...and it leads so well into VinCat's fire escape scene. Beautiful music as well.
hate the beginning of Tess pointing out to Gabe that he has a "crush" on Cat....hated that's storyline as long as it lasted....hated how they misused Tess during these episodes.
her closing the window on him, not believing him at first...unwilling to give him another chance...his apology....so sad, all of it!!! His unwillingness to trust her and tell her the truth....

He promises he won't push her away anymore yet he still won't tell her about his mission. Even though he now knows that he knows her. So Cat really CAN'T figure out a way to keep him in her life anymore. I mean, really, the only things they can talk about are the weather and current events. And that would never be enough for them.
Again, this was the most important theme in SMALLVILLE about why Lana could not be with Clark. Because of all the lies and not knowing about his secret. Until he could quit lying to her about himself, there could be no future for them as a couple. (So KK is used to playing this kind of scene/relationship). And that IS the point of this episode. So yes, Cat is in the right in shutting Vincent out since he is still doing this to her. Even though he clearly doesn't want to. There is no basis for a relationship when all that can be between them is lying about his work, which IS his whole life at that time.
So yes, I feel sorry for them both. BOTH want to make the relationship work and get back to one another. And Vincent, by this time, just wants these missions done so that he doesn't have to lie to Cat. He is now sorry that he ever had to lie to her because he DOES remember her and DOES want to get back to her. OH SO HEARTBREAKING. Just TEAR my freaking HEART out already!

I feel this episode achieved something very important; as viewers we should feel conflicted about everything that is going on, because both Catherine and Vincent are conflicted about their lives....at the end, I am not sure how to feel about anything and neither are they....there is a true feeling of loss and a sense of insecurity as to if what has been lost can ever be recovered... The emptiness is almost palpable.
