Well... maybe the end of the world is closer than we thought golden globes? quite funny... i don't really care to be honest. i have watched the show and it is a pleasant easy to watch feel good type of show. nothing special, nothing more and nothing less i can have 1000 reviewers telling me it is special and i will not be convinced, especially since I watched up till episode 5 or so

It's too bad Reign and Jane the virgin are tanking, they both are entertaining shows and especially Jane can teach writers from shows like TVD or BATB how to write an interesting lady lead and give a Complex storyline that's not all about the guys she shacked up with. Bravo Jane. Catherine Chandler take a note! i beg to differ jane is an average show - nothing special. the lead character is not written particularly well. what is it about the lead character that you think is all that great?? reign is (IMO) a bad show..not even average I dont think the BATB writing is great btw but lets not compare it to shows like reign and virgin as exemplars of good writing or good shows! come on! Jane the Virgin a Golden Globe nominee. What were you saying again?lol Regarding the comparison between the two leads, you know what at least unlike Cat,Jane actually have A storyline. Cat doesn't. And by storyline I mean the ones that doesn't revolve entirely around her guy. But it doesn't really matter right, she's not the real lead.Vincent is. Bravo Jane! That's how you write a female character!

I have watched it and i know what it is and what it is not. Neither does it make Jane a noteworthy character the show was nominated as a comedy and the actress for her acting skills. The whole show revolves around Jane getting pregnant and a triangle between her and the two men. Do I choose him or him? Nothing special or emancipatory about her character at all. It is really frustrating to me that SB who has made seriously sexist comments in the forum on more than one occassions has the audacity to make grand claims about feminism and gender emancipation and interpret shows such as Jane and batb as sexist or emancipatory based on their false understandings of key terms and concepts. I am not 5 physically or mentally ( though not sure whether at 35 i fall within your category of old women who salivate and fan girl over vincent/jay)and I will not bother answering any of your future posts.

I want the stuff that the Hollywood Foreign Press has been smoking for years. I don't know whether to cry or laugh over the nominations. Jane the Virgin over TV shows like The Americans, The Orphan Black, Masters of Sex....I could go on. Nevermind. These are....the Globes. As random as Jon Voight's acceptance speeches. And I am failing to see how Jane the Virgin getting a nomination makes it a better tv show than the rest? Like the Hollywood Foreign Press stands for objectivity? Yeah. They are as impartial as Mel Gibson. thank u exactly..

Wow, those are some very surprising news! I have never seen Jane, so can't say if they deserved the nomination or not but one thing is for sure: there most be a party on the CW when was the last time one of their shows got nominated for The Golden Globes? Thats like very huge for them, they have been very lucky this year.

JTV is still keeping up a 0.5 rating on Monday, and now probably some more viewers will tune in out of curiosity. As things are now, I expect an early renewal announcement... As ridiculous some Golden Globe nominations may seem every year, the award still holds a lot of prestige and it's hard to imagine now they would cancel their most critical acclaimed show ever.
