My wish list for season 3:- More Catherine character development. Don't think she has been written well this season ( too manic, too blinkered and hell don't get me started on Gabe) No more beast of the week. More back-story and family for all characters. Loved Aaron Keller. Tess has brothers! JT wasn't hatched. Heather a sure thing. Cat and Tess friendship. Why are V and JT are such loyal mates because really seem like chalk and cheese. More VinCat passion and romance without interruptions. New dialogue without rehashing stuff all the time. New baddie please. Gabe has been done to death. Agree that Biodad would make a good ambiguous character. Want some season 1 feels back. Because as much as I have loved some of season 2, I tend not to watch it over and over again like I do with season 1. yes agree with ALL your points i would add one thing. continuity. i would like to see a 13 epsidoe arc where there is a story well though of from the start and things get revealed and develop as a continuity from teh previous episode leading on to the finale. same as with other shows, such as fargo or breaking bad. i dont want beast of the week or case of the week procedural. i would love it if they did what i say here, but i have a feeling we will get the procedural back. so wish i am totally wrong I hear you and AGREE with you. It would be lovely to have a consistent story arc that is true to the characters. I don't want to have anymore WTF moments!!!(In a bad way) They dumped the procedural element in season 1 as it didn't work (their words) so I would be surprised if they went there again. I love this show but I am not in love with this show and I want that feeling back.

For Season 3:
1- I'd like the story goes in another direction that always hidding and running, I'd like they all getting threats that can give a purpose to their lives and all what they have gone thru. Welcome risk, drama and action, but focused in save others or make justice by taking advantage of what they are.
2- But even more important that where the story goes I think is they should recover the magic of deep dialogues they had during Season 1. I mean in S1 they always talked about their feelings, there was a strong communication among all characters and that let us better understand why they do what they do. There were beautiful scenes where we saw they talking about how Cat felt about her mother or Vincent about being non worthy/without nothing to offer, or their future, etc. In S2 we had only a few deep dialogues between the characters and in that way the real reason why they made some decisions were lost or not clear (at least for me), during this season I feel characters were always jumping into the action without giving us the opportunity to really understand their motives, how they felt about and how it has impacted them. The more clear example is if we compare Alex and Tori stories, It was clear why Vincent made plans with Alex, but it was never clear for me why Vincent was with Tori. The same would apply to Cat relatioships with Evan and Gabe.
3- I'd like the writters to keep focused on BATB fundamentals, showing how their epic lov goes deeper and mature.

My Wish List For Season 3...
1. Everything you all said previously about bringing back the ROMANCE from season 1. I dearly miss the lines where both the audience and the characters sigh, swoon and/or melt into the floor. ("I am so in love with you." "I don't know what to do now because I can't live without you." "Who you are makes everything worth it." "I don't need walls or doors.") And no, I don't care how cheesy they are! I say BRING IT ON AND MAKE IT MORE! The beautiful things written for this show are quoted all over this forum! I want that! IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CHEMISTRY, PEOPLE!
2. Heather's fiancé. Love Heather, but her track record for men isn't stellar. Make Matthew a bad guy from some branch of Beast Productions Global Inc. A really cool angle would be him wanting to get at Catherine's power, not Vincent's! I still think Catherine is the key and more valuable than we know (well, most of us anyway..).
3. Vanessa. Bring her back. Imagine the fallout of that!! Catherine's feelings alone would be all over the map! She'd be thrilled that her mom is alive, angry about Vanessa faking her death and being gone so long, furious that Mom kept Catherine's paternity a secret all her life, and hopeful that she could help Vincent's condition (whichever way that is going). And that's just for starters! Vanessa could also work with JT! With all of JT's beast DNA knowledge that he's acquired over the last ten years, wow! They could team up to make a better beast or even cure beasts or who knows what else. The dynamic of Vanessa and Vincent would be incredible too, given their history already. Dr. Keller and Dr. C. Too cool! And don't forget the sparks that would fly between Vanessa and Bob. Oooo!
4. Catherine could change careers. She doesn't have to stay on the NYPD payroll... For as much as the FBI has screwed her and Vincent over, wouldn't it fall under the line of poetic justice if she could get in with them and shake things up a bit? It would increase her power (there is so much she can't do by being a cop/detective). It could go more international too, not just NYC. She would be on a more level playing field with Bio-dad too. Lots of fun to be had there. Wouldn't she look fantastic dressed up like the FBI agents do? Chic badass!
5. Speaking of doctors, Vincent could get back into the practice, but maybe end up helping other beasts that pop up, or victims of Beast Productions, Inc. (Plus, I really liked seeing Vincent in scrubs and a lab coat... Can't help it, won't apologize.) There are any number of things the writers could do with Dr. Keller....
6. OK, this next one falls more under Season 4, but I just couldn't resist. Cross-species children. I know, I know. It's more like Season 5, but I had to throw it out there. It will be such a BLAST watching Vincat navigate kids! And with the special DNA coming out the union of Catherine and Vincent, the possibilities are endless. Beast Productions Global Inc. after pregnant Catherine, Beast Babies with animal tendencies/powers, crazed dad Vincent, Uncle JT and Aunt Tess, Grandpa Bio-dad, Vincat's New Normal, and on and on and on... See what I mean?
7. Season 3 must include somewhere for Catherine and Vincent to cohabitate where there are actual working locks on the doors and windows! When Catherine said that to Vincent on that rooftop right before their first kiss (see quote in #1 above), I don't think she knew the ramifications of that statement... Just sayin'.
8. I would like to see Catherine actually EAT something. Could somebody give me some examples from any episode when she eats? No, the little bit of wine and beer she's sipped don't qualify. Neither does the morsel of cotton candy from Never Turn Back. Personally, I think they should make it that Vincent can actually cook (apparently Catherine is not so good at it). Romantic candlelit dinners and picnics... Oh yeah, that would be good.
9. Keep putting in the line, "Are you OK?". When the season is over, I'll let you know the number of times I have counted it in the 44 episodes. I find it strangely entertaining listening for it every week. My family laughs every time I have to add a mark to my tally sheet. Total fun!
10. ROMANCE, ROMANCE, ROMANCE!!! It's why I watch and LOVE this show!

Something to add to my wish list:-
An alternative universe episode.
Just one showing them meeting and falling in love as who they were without the events that shaped their now!
Know it won't happen, but like to imagine that destiny would have brought them together whatever.

Lets see, leading up to the end of S2, I see S3 opening with Heather planning for her wedding.. we have not seen her fiancée yet so I am certain, there will be a link to the Catherine/Vincent/Beast hunt. in 2.21 we see that Vincent has been exonerated but by whom? Someone just bought his freedom and now I think VinCat has another pair of eyes watching over them going into S3. Catherine's Father could still play a viable role in S3 and speaking of parents, S1 was just flawless compared to choppy S2, I loved the flow of storylines and the initial reason I started watching BatB; how Vincat came to be, her mother's death I the case of telling a story it seems like it was dropped for no solid reason. As soon Cat found her mother's (presumed) rightful burial spot, she stopped searching for answers. She was devastated when she learned her mother worked for Muirfield, which lead to Vincent becoming one of her volunteer guinea pigs. I was given the impression that there would be a lot of "secrets" mama Chandler took to her grave and/or stored away in those boxes in the basement of her family's house... so much was left open ended in S1 that I would like for tptb to resume where they left off and continue discovering more info/secrets into Cat's mother's past, Cat's family history as well as getting closure for Cat. Finding her true identity, that's what she struggled with in S1. That could easily give us solid 13 episodes or even more story arc for S3. Yes, like I stated before, I think a new villain is on the horizon as I am over Gabe and his flaky tender bittersweet "Vincent is bad for you. I am all the man you need." schtick. lol Cat is all in with Vincent, no matter who objects to them being together. You'd have to get the jaws of life to pry those two lovebirds apart. LOL Unless the powers of dramatic story-telling intervene, making it all the more intriguing for VinCat. I am hoping that this new villain(s) has a lot more power and sinister in him/her;them. I just don't think the Muirfield issue is completely dead. I was upset they offed the founder of Muirfield, Zao, so soon. I would have liked him a whole lot better than inserting Tori for 6 eppies, or Sam for that matter, that's for sure. lol I loved S1 so much. Its been a long time since I've ever gushed about a tv show like this. (really!) S2 seems forgettable at best. There were several opportunities to save S2 from being sub par, but oh well moving on. Essentially clearing Vincent's name was the ultimate goal, so he wouldn't have to be the pariah of Manhattan. There wasn't much to write home about in S2, which really disappointed me, the first 5 eppies were solid but went downhill from there. I truly hope tptb get back to the writing style of S1. The small detail in character development of both Catherine and Vincent is what got me hooked. There is still so much to learn about these two individually and together as they go through more obstacles ahead of them. The tone was set big time in S1... I just want this show to thrive again. #sigh I hope I am on the right track, there is too much awesome chemistry with a cast like this to go to waste.

That's to what I miss from season 1 is the romance and some of the line's you quoted are still some of my all time favourites from the show and to be honest are what kept me hooked and definetly agree that they need one epiaode where they can find door's and window's with lock's so they can dam well lock them and get down to some AMP kind a loving it's long over due. BKern reckon's that he know know's what people want is Vincent and Catherine together well let's hope that in season 3 it stay's that way, I don't mind finding out who got Vincent out of jail even though they took his blood i'm hoping they will turn out to be not totally bad but as long as they don't try and brak vincat up again I'm good. And please please let Gabe be gone I think Sendhill has done a great job but enough is enough I want to see Vincent smack him down good and proper this time. I'd also like to see Vincat working with her bio dad as for me he has so much potential and was much more interresting to watch than Gabe and hopefully by the end of season 2 he will realize that Gabe wasn't so perfect after all and that Vincent is the right one for Cat so seeing the three of them together after all that has happened could be very intersting indeed. I have said this before but aseason 2 has been a real struggle at time's to watch and to keep rooting for Vincent on his own and Catherine on her own after the Gabe crap but I've stuck with it so I just hope tht BKern does so what he said and rewards the loyal fan's better in season 3 than he did in season 2 and who know's maybe we will get it bumped back up to 22 episodes becuase honerstly 13 is just to short for me it will no sooner come back on and then finish, with some show's that work's like Bates Motel love love that programme they only do 10 but they are intriguing and keep you hooked so you don't notice it's only 10 episodes a season well I don;t anyway but for something so iconic as BATB 22 fits the bill better.

I think..we can't have love scene any more. (kind like AMP) I mean...they give that line to jay& kristin...kiss scene from script. But you know...they always peck (actually really funny ep 21 cat said "It was just a peck") maybe just written "sweet kissing" like that (in script)...but on screen.... they just a peck. I think jay ryan pressure that scenes. (sometimes I saw passion from k.k) but I understand him. He's dad, husband. and look at that those gif from love scenes with k.k So I give up love scene. But it's okay to me. (If) They give us really good story (& some like ep.21 ending scene )then I will love BATB. They will give us really good story in s3....right? (If jay ryan being familly man before batb audition....they gave to jay vincent's role? I' don't think so. But it happened s1.....so I think batb is not any more just only romance drama. What kind romance darama showing a peck kissing. I saw homeland yesterday...believe me there's hot kiss scene every where) That's not even romance drama) ( Problem is chemistry k.k & J.R. a huge chemistry. I think that's why jay not into kiss scene any more.) I hope .....really good story line , good character, good edit in s3. (and of course if they give us lovescene...I also really really happy.) S3...must be whole package (story, character...and story, story, story really good story) Just my opinion. (maybe only me.) and I'm so sorry for my bad English. p.s I want beasts thing & some NYPD cases story. Please give some crime case to tess & cat (I don't like cat's reaction from ep 17. tess is best friend for her. about jt& tess relationship they need deep girl's talk...why only vincent and jt showing us kind like that.. They are actors, their personal lives should have nothing to do with their "on screen" performance. If the scene isn't right, it's the Director's job to yell "CUT!" and redo the scene. Of course in the history of Hollywood it's not uncommon for "on screen" to cross over into "off screen". However, as long as they stay professional, I see no reason why Jay and Kristin can't produce the "on screen" passion their viewers want.

Yes, I agree with all of the above. Also, I'd like to see some more depth in JT and Tess's relationship; introducing a rival for her affections who's closer to her "type". After much angst (the usual kind, not the Murfield or equivalent plant-to-get-to Vincent kind) and character development, she chooses JT. No more love triangles for Vincent and Catherine, though!

Just discovered this thread. I swear, I should just spend a day finding out about all the individual threads instead of just stumbling onto ones by complete accident!
Loved many of the previous comments. Must add my 2 cents. And I will have to do a comparison to another television show to make my point about what I want to see in Season 3. In SMALLVILLE, Clark Kent started out HATING the word "destiny." Clark said over and over that "Destiny just means you have No Choice." However, by the end of the series, Clark EMBRACED his destiny, recognizing that it was truly HIS OWN CHOICE to save others and live with the one he loved the most.
I see BATB as having gone through this transition. Vincent originally hated what he was and how he was made to hide. He became increasingly isolated and careless until Catherine actually figured out who he was. She began drawing him back into interacting with the world, first to help her solve cases AND to then help save others actively, such as the two little immigrant girls. Vincent then began seeing his Destiny of being a Beast as an asset and not just a liability. That was Season 1.
Then came Season 2. Due to Vincent's memory wipe and missions, BOTH Catherine and Vincent clearly saw their relationship as a Burden. Destiny was again "No Choice." So both of them tried other choices. Catherine knew that she was looking for someone that wanted to Save Others. In 221, Catherine says that what she was looking for in Gabe was the man that Saved Others. That was what attracted her to him, particularly when Vincent suddenly had become all about killing and even enjoying the killing. (I mean, there was no remorse for killing Curtis Windsor or even Zach once he actually killed them. And yes, they were evil, but Vincent clearly didn't feel a thing, as a human being should about taking the life of another, no matter how justified. So yes, both Catherine and Vincent saw the other and the other's morality as being a "burden" that held one another back. So Vincent chose his Beast-side and a potential partner that was also in the same situation. And Catherine chose Gabe who, at that time, was a man trying to atone for past sins as a Beast by saving others (which was Vincent's goal in Season 1).
However, what Season 2 showed to Vincent and Catherine was that Destiny IS about having a choice. And both realized that they didn't have the PASSION or the drive or could even find the meaning in their lives without the other. They realized that it actually LIGHTENED each other's burden, no matter how bad the obstacle, to move forward together. Both realized that they wanted to Save Others together. Being a "destined couple" meant Epic Love and CHOOSING to be Together.
Brings us to Season 3. We have two individuals feeling they are Destined to be AND accept that destiny willingly. Now they actually get a shot at Normal as well. I WANT to see how Normal will look for these two. Vincent will now have his own separate career. And how will that affect Catherine? And how will Vincent wish to proceed when he sees the kind of cases Cat gets, particularly when Beast-like creatures turn up dead and Catherine has to investigate whether their abilities got them killed or whether some other organization is trying to cover things up. And that will mean that the organization will NOT want anyone making those connections. So will Vincent be able to stay in an ER treating people when Catherine is getting increasingly sucked into the world of investigating covert organizations? I want to see how others needing helped from experimentation gets VinCat involved. How will they embrace the careers that find them? ABOVE ALL ELSE, I want to see them choose to grow closer together and truly face the issues together. Which should actually amp up the romance. It will also bring home to them that Normal can never truly be theirs. Someone will always either hunt them or need their help. Should keep the threat of constant separation and keep the VinCat romance/sexual tension strong. Like others have said before me, I want to see Cat and Vincent VOCALIZE what each means to the other and how they learn something new and wonderful from each other daily just by doing what they do together. Yes, can be cheesy. But that makes it no less romantic. Give me my Romance (and a few scenes that actually SHOW it as well).
