Agh... new competition coming, well... sigh... we'll see how it goes. I loved tonight's episode but that doesn't need to change the general viewership in the USA. Maybe Nicole (Heather) brings some fans from her previous show (Ravenwood) to BATB? We'll know by tomorrow early afternoon.... edit. Wow!!! just checked Nicole Anderson in Twitter, she has 720.000 followers!!! For those who are not in twitter and don't get the numbers, just some other numbers to compare: Jay Ryan followers 103.000 (he isn't active at all so I'm not surprised he hasn't got more) and Kristin Kreuk 161.000 followers!! I wonder if Nicole had this amount of followers before Ravenswood or they came with that show. If the latest, maybe she's capable of bringing new blood to the audience of BATB. Nicole had about 500,000 Twitter followers before Beauty even started airing. I remember looking it up when one of KK's Smallville "fans" was laughing at the fact that she had more followers than KK so I pointed out the fact that she had more followers than all the actors who were regular cast members on Smallville during its 10 year run combined. She probably still does if you only count the 9 actors who appeared as a regular in more than one season. The BatBwriters account even joked when Nina got to 1,000 followers that she only needed 499,000 more to catch Nicole I think Nicole got a lot of followers from being on some show with the Jonas brothers. I would think that the majority of Nicole's followers are in the age group that would help Beauty's rating in the 18-34 demo that the network targets, but sadly all 700,000 of her Twitter followers could have watched Cold Case but if none of them were Nielsen viewers, the rating would be exactly the same. Now if they all went and streamed it on the CW site or Hulu, I'm sure that would be noticed. But even though Nicole has about 6x the number of followers as KK, she doesn't seem to get nearly the number of mentions as KK, even when Ravenswood was airing, at least according to the way I was reading the Twitter analytics. Maybe now that she will be a regular on Beauty, people can get her to tweet about the show more in hopes that a few of those 700k followers are Nielsen viewers. The numbers may have changed a little, but I read that for ratings under 1.0, it only takes 20 Nielsen viewers in the 18-49 demo to change the rating 0.1. So on the one hand, all you need are 20 Nielsen folk, but on the other, it's not hard to imagine on any given Monday some of those 20 18-49 year old Nielsen viewers being away, or not watching live, causing the show to go from .26 - .32

WORD Pippin! Plus fans have to remember SMALLVILLE started 12 years ago. Back then there wasn't Facebook & twitter. Or if there was it was just starting out. SMALLVILLE was THE SHOW for THE WB/CW. It was their baby & big money-maker. They used to draw 7 million people for an episode or something huge like that. If if was a CLANA or LANA heavy episode those had even higher ratings. Smallville was moved around many times during the seasons b/c they knew millions of fans would follow. It was also used as a launch pad of startup shows to lead into like Supernatural, etc.
Picture Smallville like the attention Vampire Diaries or Supernatural gets. I'd say Smallville was even bigger and the cast rarely did interviews or pimp the show! They started the whole origins of a superhero thing. There was promotional tie-ins like CDS, DVDs, Action figures, Smallville magazines, Smallville comics, a whole novel collection developed for teens, etc.
KRISTIN KREUK was also the IT GIRL for THE WB/CW. She was predominately featured on network posters, promo videos, etc. The cast was featured on the covers of RollingStone, USA TODAY, TV GUIDE (several times including a comic collection), feature spreads in Entertainment Weekly. SCIFI magazines regulary featured Smallville all the time. Kristin was on the cover or had features in Teen People, Seventeen, Y & M, Arena, VIBE, Ocean Drive, In Style, fashion magazines, hair magazines, and of course the many Men's magazines (MAXIM, Femme Fatale, FHM, etc) out there. She turned down men's magazines and teen horror movies. They sought her out. She was a breakout star along w/Tom. That's why she mentions 1st few years of Smallville it was a blur b/c it went by so quickly when you are pulled to do so many media things.
Basically what I'm saying is that if Twitter, Facebook, etc. were around back then like they are now, Kristin Kreuk would have had millions and millions of followers. The cast was in every HOT list you can think of. They had eOnline and Entertainment Tonight do features on them on set.
Yes, Nicole's followers majority seem like Jonas fans from way back then. Don't know how many are actually active. She doesn't get many active re-tweets other than BATB fans. Yes, noticed too even with Ravenwoods, there wasn't much of a surge.

^ And that's the gospel truth.
I remember Kristin's cute little Neutrogena commercials. Omg I can't even imagine SV's popularity combined with social media and Comic Cons etc. etc. It would have been off-the-charts insane.

About half of the season 2 episodes have gotten a 0.7 in the metered and so far only one has rounded down to a 0.2. I think it will depend on how many in the 18-34 demo tuned in. The 25-54 has been 0.4 but the 18-34 has been 0.2, falling or rising based on the male 18-34 demo.

YES!!!!!!!! Can you just imagine the popularity of Smallville in today's universe of Social Media. OMG...........the shipper wars would be brutal! I remember Steve DeKnight's (Smallville writer) My Space fan battles and Steve had to come in and referee his own site! Remember Brooke Burke's Smallville Special?? That is when I first was introduced to Smallville. The Early SV ratings were amazing.

All I have to say is thank goodness the show was postponed to summer and was renewed. Because if we were getting 0.2s in May, then I really think renewal wouldn't have happened. I hope it doesn't adjust down to 0.2. WTF is wrong with people? We lost about 250,000 viewers from when the show came back. Where did they go?

I remember The WB used to release Smallville trailers and make it look like Clark was talking to Lana when he actually wasn't and they'd show KK to promote the episodes even, for the episodes that she wasn't in. Out of all the past Smallville stars, including the series lead Tom Welling, she has been the most successful and the most searched for on Google and Yahoo.

Oh my 0.2 would be bad.. I didn't wanted to ask this but is there a possibility the CW would cancel the show after they have already renewed it?
