(1) Adelson definitely deserves to win the Leo for this episode; it has
everything:
- the VinCat heat turns up,
- the world aligns against them,
- the Cat / Tess interaction (about the lack of sex)
- the Cat / Gabe interaction in the locker room
- Gabe's best lines ever: "Just for the record, anyone who passes on the chance to get naked with you is out of his mind."
- Loved
Catherine's facial reactions after Gabe leaves.
- the ballroom scenes:
- Catherine comes down the stairs, Vincent takes his mask off and can't breathe,
- the parallel scene where Vincent comes down the stairs, takes her face in his hands and kisses her.
(Was C. Ashton the genius who designed Cat's painted on mask?)
- the intrigue and reveals about Gabe,
- what Catherine says at the end about "The only thing that would break my heart is... looking back on my life and wishing that I had done things differently ..." Her finest hour.
- and finally, the sex. Am I the only one who thinks the initial nightmare sequence was way hotter? (Minus tossing Catherine across the room). Adelson had the love-making beautifully choreographed.
(2) CAT: "
How could I ever hate you? It would be like hating a part of myself."
OR VINCENT: "...
The truth is, I've never felt so out of control than I do when I'm with you."
Who writes this beautiful stuff? Oh, right - it was Roger Grant.
(3) GABE: "We're closer than you think. My mother was murdered, too."
Gabe fails to mention that HE murdered her. Reminds me of the fellow who killed his parents, then said to the Judge, "you've gotta show me mercy, I just became an orphan."
(4) If Evan didn't kill Scheckman and Muirfield certainly didn't, then it must have been Gabe Lowan. Not Beast-Lowan but non-beast Gabe Lowan. No excuses, no "I couldn't control myself", straight cold-blooded premeditated Gabe Lowan.
(5) Re: Vincent's thoughts on seeing Catherine on the stairs. The male Beasties should have a contest for what passes through his mind. My entry would be: "God in heaven! ... Dear God in heaven! ... (CENSORED)."
