At least we already know the returning date... to you too!!!! Yes... knowing the returning date makes me feel in peace somehow... Regarding ratings, schedules, possible spots and all that... You girls have me mystified!! For me it is like Chemistry in High School... never got it, nor even tried to. So, to sum up, what I am getting is: it does not look good. Period. Well!! Again, I hope they really give a serious thought to that cancellation. They know how passionate this fandom is. If they do not closure the show in a proper way, they know they will have a bunch of unhappy people. Granted, people with no Nielsen-box-whatever-that-is, but viewers, after all. And passionate ones, for good and for bad. Let's see how that fat lady sings! (what a great expression, I love it!) View Attachment That is quite a FAT lady. The term "it ain't over til the fat lady sings" is widely used in sporting events in the US because of the many comebacks to win a game/match that occur with seconds left.

But actually the phrase refers to opera. From Wikipedia: The "fat lady" is the valkyrie Brünnhilde, who is traditionally presented as a very buxom lady with horned helmet, spear and round shield (although Brünnhilde in fact wears a winged helmet). Her aria lasts almost twenty minutes and leads directly to the end of the opera, though the character Hagen has one final line, "Zurück vom Ring!", to sing after Brünnhilde's death, and there is also a substantial orchestral finale. As Götterdämmerung is about the end of the world (or at least the world of the Norse gods), in a very significant way "it is [all] over when the fat lady sings."

I may have to stop reading this thread... its so sad to think about it... But it is also so interesting to learn about ratings. Still dont quite understand it, but I think Im getting there. I think we need @ least 3 weeks of data to really determine if 100 is gonna stick. It can see how it would appeal to people to just look at it and see what its all about. It also go significant ad & entertainment website exposure. I felt like every place I looked I was being told to watch the 100. Even Arrow cast was tweeting to watch it. So the one thing we know is that the CW is putting its $$ behind the 100, at least for now. My gut is telling me that it is most likely that we will get a 1/2 season (13 episodes) as much as I want a 22 episode. You never know maybe they'll have a clause that allows them to extend the season if it does well... Maybe it will split its season w/ HOD? Unless HOD picks up its #s, it looks like it may only get a 1/2 season too & thats just to complete the syndication deal. Also about the June premiere date... it came from one station in Alabama is that really reliable? Im not quite sure. We have not had a formal confirmation. I think SC is dead. I think TTP is 50/50 along with us. I think Flash will come after ARROW on Weds, so 100 will need a new night IMO. Im still thinking that a Fri combo of Reign @ 8p & BATB @ 9p would be a really enjoyable combination. Reign is not a horrible show, I actually like it ANd I think they should move TVD to mon, since its such a gr8 show in their eyes let it compete with the Mon night competition.

Also, if you haven't seen it on some other thread I dropped it on, look at this: IndianTelevisionFrom an interview with a Mumbai, India TV exec: Q: Currently, you are airing Beauty & the Beast and Elementary five days a week. Will you be moving to airing them weekly to be closer to the US telecast? We had two options, the first of which was to run the series close to the US telecast, but for viewers who are not familiar with the older season, that tactic wouldn’t have worked. So, we decided to go with option 2 entailing stripping the first two seasons and allowing viewers to binge-watch them one after the other. This would build enough anticipation by September when season three premieres. Q: There has been no official statement from either CBS or The CW on subsequent seasons of Elementary and Beauty & the Beast. Can your earlier statement regarding the airing of season three of both series be considered official? As far as we know, both Elementary and Beauty & the Beast have been renewed for sure. However, from the public’s perspective, you will have to wait and hear from CBS and The CW since I cannot speak for them.

I know the opera angle, but it is more recognized regarding sporting events these days . I'm sure the picture she attached was from opera,

Believe we have a renewal everyone given Alabama could not provide a direct answer.

Just a thought....maybe they are airing the last 6 episodes of our beloved show in the summer as a trial run to see whether or not BATB maintains viewership even in the summer months. If so, perhaps the CW does consider renewing BATB as a summer show. Possibility?
