Lainie D. @vincatcrazy 9h @austinbasis In your opinion, do you think the CW knows if we are getting renewed? We just need a word of encouragement. #batb Reply Retweet Favorite More Expand Austin Basis @austinbasis 8h @vincatcrazy They have no idea yet- hence, the change in schedule…Keep doing what you're doing- there's still hope! #DontStopBATBelieving NEED I say "I told you so??" Let's have a little faith folks LOL, my thoughts exactly!
Given the events that occurred on Friday, over the weekend and on Monday, I am sure information in that TV Wise article is out of date since it did come out on March 17, and coming from the United Kingdom for crying aloud. Secondly, I am positive they are basing BATB on the 0.2 demo we received last week also. Lastly, why would the CW renew the Tomorrow People over Hart of Dixie when it has been on longer than BATB and the Tomorrow People? On top of that, the network is not going to air and has never, “not that I can recall” will ever air a new series on Fridays. For the most part, the article is right about Star-Crossed and The Carrie Diaries, yet overall, that article does not make sense. We will definitely know more in a couple of weeks or so.

lol yes responding to your previous post - i am losing it lol, hate the waiting game and all the uncertainty. doesnt help that maya kept me up all night...i know yolie u are right and i apologise to everyone for the negativity....i will compose myself lol I understand anapi -season3baby :) BEEN there and done that! BUT you know what??? The more they tell me is 'impossible' the MORE determined I am NOT to give into the idea of it..I strongly believe that the OTHER new shows aren't going to get renewed.. Star Crossed numbers are crap for a freshman show... Just look at the number we had same time last year in other words it sucks! The Tomorrow People is another one that didn't fair well ..It started ok but it has gone downhill from there. The thing we have to also look into is HOW MUCH MONEY it costs to produce the shows in comparison to BATB. The more special effects the show has the more expensive it is. So that is also a factor to look into. People say that overseas sales don't matter much..But when you add revenue from 20 some odd countries ..IT does MATTER! THe people that tell you that it don't are talking ca ca .. Many factors here..It's ALL about MONEY ..MONEY MONEY MONEY If BATB weren't making them MONEY at least overseas it wouldn't have had a second season. Seems like international market is one of the MAIN advantage we have for renewal. But am just wondering, don't other CW series have international market too? i don't really know coz i don't really care about the other series, but just wondering….

But am just wondering, don't other CW series have international market too? i don't really know coz i don't really care about the other series, but just wondering…. yes they do, but i do not think TTP or Starcrossed have as much of an international market as BATB does cause they are newer shows. The starcrossed for sure does not, but I dont think TTP is as popular abroad as BATB is either...but this is just my impression, if anyone has numbers and countries sold to etc let me know. the thing that worries me about TTP and yesterdays ratings is that its last episode on a wednesday had its lowest ratings at 1.22 million viewers (and that was not a repeat, it was an original episode) and it only fell a bit to 1.17 viewers this week on monday with a very weak lead in. so this means in my eyes those viewers the 1.17 million are probably the loyal, regular ones who dont watch just because it airs after arrow. on a monday BATB has on average 800k viewers (sometimes a bit less and sometimes a bit more). this 350k difference how important is it for the cw? the reason they moved it ot Monday is to see if the ratings would fall further and they have not really fallen, not yet anyway. clearly the fact that they have not fallen significantly is to their advantage. BATB has the advantage of better ( i think) international sales, better online viewings (i am sure), more episodes but still is the lowest rated cw show. TTP has more viewers for now and performs better than some other cw shows but still not high numbers...i guess we will find out today we will find out what happens with the 100, though I think a show always or nearly always has high ratings in the first 4 or so episodes (if not more) with a strong lead in (arrow in this case). i guess for us a 0.6 for a first episode after arrow would not be bad, provided the numbers fall after episode 2 or 3 to 0.5 or less... lets see...hopefully it wont do a 0.7 or more!

If BATB weren't making them MONEY at least overseas it wouldn't have had a second season. Of course. And Ford Motor wouldn't be a sponsor if it didn't make sense because a) there are many other places to go, and b) those people definitely are not dumb. They can read ratings numbers too - or hire PhD's to read to them. Despite the title of this thread, we know it is just way more complicated than a simple view of ratings numbers. Reminds me of a science fiction story (I think by Sturgeon) where the forecasting models had advanced to such a point they only had to ask one person who was going to be the next President. They could save the cost of elections. So on election day, the entire world press corp shows up on the doorstep of this guy in Springfield, Illinois and asks him the big question. I don't remember any more but it was a satire. Look at the campaign for Season 2. Everywhere I look people credit Beasties for that win. Why wasn't it just Nielsen Ratings? I think the fear I see expressed in this thread is we are afraid it will simply be the Nielsen Ratings. Somewhere here @socmom said she had never been so addicted to a show or ever joined a forum. I'm the same but worse; I've never even seen more than one episode of these other shows. They bore me; they have no heart. I only watch one show right now. I would never have signed on to a fan forum much less Twitter and Facebook, etc. My one disappointment for other shows this season is Josh Wyman's Almost Human because I hoped to see some of the heart that Fringe had. So far, not yet. These people should know that the special effects and mythology are only the background for real people, characters who become so real, when they bleed, we bleed, when they fall in love, we fall in love. Surely, network execs understand these things too. Their subject is audiences - us. They've listened before; they'll listen again. One more thing: Mr. Pedowitz says he is "happy with creative". Even WE don't say that. Maybe that's a coded message to us. Don't give up the faith. There has to be a place for Beauty and the Beast (and Beasties) in this crazy world.

Reading everything you say sounds so right... and I completely agree but still fear that the current audiences are a bit more "superficial" and may not be looking for shows "with heart" as we, beasties, do. Otherwise, we would also have higher ratings. I was also disappointed with Almost Human. I was a rabid fan of Fringe (not like BATB but, well, nothing has been like BATB before! lol) and I agree with you. That show had HEART! The emotions, the personal storylines, Walter, Olivia, Peter, Astrid, even the cow! lol besides the mythology (which was also rich and very interesting) for me the main appeal were EMOTIONS. The same like BATB. Let's hope your predictions are correct and we are all celebrating with some tequila shots in a couple of months!!
