Miracles may happen - but that's not the way to bet. On the other hand, this show (and this blog) are more about romance / fantasy than reality. So why not hope?
I'd be happy with (thrilled at) a 13 episode renewal to complete the story-arc. JT finally completes a beast-cure for Vincent and wins the Nobel Prize. Vincent becomes Chief of Surgery at New York General and Catherine takes over as head of the SCU. The only thing they argue about is whether to have four kids or to stop at three. (Human kids, of course)
Failing that, they could enter WITSEC to live "some place warm" and raise little beasties. (Not necessarily human - but I don't care)
Failing even that, Cat could discover that her nickname is more than appropriate, her Mother left her an unexpected genetic-gift and she can hold her own with the beast side of Vincent. They both live underground fighting crime as a team. And definitely raising exotic little beasties.
You see the common thread here: Vincent and Catherine together.
Other than that, I don't care.

sorry guys but dont really trust this woman and do the maths, there are no 3-4 slots available 3 new shows confirmed 5 old shows renewed 2 slots left in total!! HOD is renewed for sure due to syndication unless of course both star crossed and the 100 do amazingly well so essentially there is one slot or maybe there are 3 slots if they decide to give 3 shows half runs, like with Nikita or TCD of course that means that if BATB gets renewed, at most it will have 6-13 episodes and of course then that would be the final season unless it suddenly miraculously pulled a 0.7 or something Truthfully, it would not matter if BATB miraculously pulled off a 0.7 demo, as Nikita lasted for three and half seasons with demos ranging from 0.2 to 0.3. Yet, what saved Nikita and will save BATB also, is how well BATB continues to perform overseas.
Here are my predictions based on the EW article (the most reliable sources are Deadline, EW, TV Line when it comes to renewal information):
Beauty and the Beast (Moved to Wednesdays or Fridays, ratings will continue to gradually improve, full or short order of 13 episodes)
Hart of Dixie (Outperforms Carries Diaries – Receives full order, alternative, short order, probably six or 13 episodes
Carrie Diaries (Cancelled)
Tomorrow People (Air on Mondays or Fridays, Cancelled, or Receives a short order)
Star-Crossed and The 100 (Depending on the ratings, both could air on Mondays)

Despite, the low ratings Nikita received, the network renewed the show to give the fans proper closure as they could have ended the series at season three.
Yet, in our case, the network will do one of the following:
a) Grant us with a full order and one last opportunity to shine.
b) Provide us with a short order if the ratings continue to rise gradually. Yet, if we reach a certain demo, the network will give us a back order.
c) Cancellation, possibly, however very doubtful especially given all the pre-emption the series has faced since its premiere.
Given, that BATB does air in Canada on Sundays, I can see them changing that as well.

I believe that even though we might not get a full season we will get at least 6 episodes like Nikita or 13 episodes like Gossip Girl got for it's last season. Or CW can also make BATB a summer run show instead of the usual season shows.

Sorry, I loved that show. I also remember that during that time the cw/cbs folks were in nikitas corner for 2&3 renewal because it did do well with international audiences & then could sell it well now & later. S4 was just a gift to the audience. So if batb outplays ttp & some of the others in the international market & tptb like it then it might have a shot. I think the short seasons is something that many networks are trying to experiment with. I donot think beasties should be too scared of a short order. A properly planned & paced 13 epi season can sometimes be more enjoyable than a disorganized full season w/ dumb filler. beyond the ratings, I also think the networks will look @ the budget & costs of each series & episode. Ttp needs to rely a lot on special effects so that must make their $$$ high. Batb could trim some of their budget if needed by trimming the spec efx budget if need be. Imo I watch the show for the characters & the love story, the sp efx are an afterthought. batb I think can package themselves as a better show to renew for many reasons- audience, int'l mkt, budget, DVD sales. I just hope the show runners know how to sell themselves. If not they should call the Nikita & reign people. sidebar - I wonder if CBS ever thought of taking in to their main network ir other channels.

Can I just say that 'the fat lady hasn't sung yet!'..I've always said that hope isn't lost. As grim as the outcome looks I believe CW can please us.. Even if there is no season 3 they will end the series on a high note! Like I said in my earlier posts..There are 'things' being spoken behind closed doors. Like summer season instead of fall season..and a 13 episode run. Have faith, hope and believe!

I read that on insidetv (sorry if you already saw it) : "Beauty and the Beast: Not quite dead yet. Has a shot at a short-order, if only because The CW likes to give their multi-year shows some final seasons."
That is consistent with what you're saying.
BTW I'm laughing because I see that you changed... .again your username ! So after the Believing in Vincat ( not sure of the exact words though) , we got Vincent Keller1.0 is back ! and now Where's Catherine Chandler1.0? What's next ?? I'm wondering..... With you, sure it's a lot of fun ! Thank you !

I really think they'll give the show a new season with about 6 to 13 episodes to close the story because CW has this commitment with its shows. In the middle of all their wrong doings, I think it's kind of endearing that they have this conscience. It doesn't erase the damage they did, but it's a consolation prize. But I don't think we should wait for anything other than that. The story is already being more than condensed and it's losing coherency at each passing episode. So, I don't think even the show runners would want to prolong it much more. I would like to this it the VERY LEAST they can do after we won them PCA awards two years straight
