I'm up for a fight too when the situation calls for it....but I fear the battle has already been lost in this instance. Don't accuse me of being pessimistic....I'm trying to be realistic. If you have an attractive and talented enough cast you can cover up bad writing, to an extent. I think that's what we have here in BATB (and it started in Season 1.) Ultimately the folks at the network are looking at the numbers (and the potential numbers) and saying to themselves..."hmmmmm, I just don't see how this makes sense to continue." I know you gals are over the moon about the recent PC awards, but I just don't think they mean anything (ultimately) to the longevity of a TV show. In the networks eyes, the "peoples choice awards" are the actual viewer ratings and not some sampling of votes based on a contest where the outcome is "skewed" by a well-meaned fan base. Don't beat me up, it's just my two cents. Worth what you paid for it.

I think the PCAs DO contribute to a network's plans to some degree, though. For instance, last year when BATB won, the network probably thought it was on to something big and with a few tweaks, the BATB fan base would continue to grow. This year, I am not certain our wins will have as much influence. The real issue is, "how do we entice more viewers?" Sometimes I feel as if we are part of a "which came first, the chicken or the egg" scenario in that the fans cannot be the only source trying to increase the fan base. CW does not do a great job at promoting BATB; never has. The new schedule did not help as the new "direction" of the show was not showcased by CW and not seen by new viewers who already had a "pre-conceived" notion of what BATB was about and opted to watch the competition. Additionally, the new "direction" caused some fans to "tune out" instead of "turn on." It's sad. How many of us know someone with a Neilsen box? I don't. I can only hope that live streaming, watching on-line, etc., helps our cause.

My sister happened to mention that she had one over Christmas. She is a HUGE hockey fan, do I can only count on her to watch BATB if it doesn't conflict with a hockey game.......or maybe I could hijack her box on Mondays...LOL

Watching it on your DVR within the first couple of days of airing, I believe also helps.

Not exclusively the writing, no. My point was that the issue is not with the cast. Although, now that I think about it, there is one member of the cast I find highly irritating. Anyways, the situation now is that any type of official announcement from The CW will not come until probably late April. That leaves most of the BATB fan base in an unfortunate situation waiting on pins and needles. In my opinion that's rude treatment to the fan base. But I understand it from the business perspective.

PCA wins only establish fan base ratings are the deal makers or breakers...
I have a feeling we'll know before April the fate of the show..
Right now things are happening behind exec doors trying to figure out the outcome. .
The idea is if the show can make a turnaround after the hiatus?
If by a miracle the ratings improved. .well game on.
Right now enjoy the uninjoyable lol..love the unlovable..cherish every moment VinCat is on our screens and hope for the best cause this could be our last season

You know while watching some shwoa in CW lately, I have noticed adverta for every single one of their shows EXCEPT BatB. Even on Showcase.ca I have not seen any ads promoting the return of our show after the hiatus. Canadian beasties can correct me if I'm wrong and I missed any promotion.

I agree, crazy; as we had talked about, for the longest time the show wasn't even listed to return last night..let alone have it's return after the hiatus advised. That definitely did not happen!

There have been a number of comments about lack of promotion in various threads. It's your contention the show is purposely not being promoted in order to help guarantee its failure? Why, and for what purpose/reason? Are you saying this was a decision made even before Season 2 commenced?

I am not sure who you are referring to when you say "it's YOUR contention...." , but i don't believe at all that things are done purposely to derail the show; however, I can state that I have noticed a lack of publicity compared to some other shows.

I was just asking the question to anybody since there have been numerous comments on the forum regarding lack of promotion. I was just wondering what their motivation/reasoning is. Actually, I'm pretty sure I know the answer.
