What's funny & not really funny is that the cast was so excited about the changes they were doing this season. Look back at the interviews from the NY CC with Kristin & Jay. They both said it and in some cases they kinda put S1 down which really bothered me because THAT'S what we fell in love with. Sure it had it's problems with the procedural & all, but they fixed all that & it was the love story & the latter part of the season with them together against everything, that was the best & my favorite part! But you guys are right they changed too much & it feels like a completely different show & not in a good way. I hope the writers do give us a happy ending to wrap it up. I hate to throw in the towel like this but at this point it's gonna take a miracle to turn things around. Does anyone know what the writers are saying after last night's episode & the ratings? maybe they know more than we do?? Am trying to be positive here but after all what's been going on ITS SOOO HARD!! But i like to stand by my Batb and fight. I believe there's a saying which goes something like this IT AINT OVER TILL THE FAT LADY SINGS

Girl I'm trying like crazy, but the writers aren't making it easy! The ratings are declining! I don't want to throw in the towel, but others obviously don't feel that way & it's only EP 5! ok so lets win the PCAs and have people watch from episode 9 onwards and hopefully the writers will not disappoint and if that doesn't work ok then I wont say anything else I'm with you! I'm doing everything I can! I hope the writers don't disappoint us! I'm not saying I'm giving up quite the opposite. When someone tells me no and we're going to lose I try to prove them wrong so this just makes me more determined! What's funny & not really funny is that the cast was so excited about the changes they were doing this season. Look back at the interviews from the NY CC with Kristin & Jay. I was trying to be hopeful, thinking that if we just kept the same viewers from week to week we could have a chance for renewal but this is just disastrous. I know Reunion sucked but we lost so many viewers. A lot of people on other sites and on twitter are saying the writers just made too many changes, the VinCat love that was the heart of the show is gone and they didn't like all the changes they made to the beast. There are so many reasons that the ratings are so bad but I think that is part of it because we are losing people that loved season 1. At this point I think Mark Pedowitz would be crucified by the press and fans of more successful shows if he renewed BATB. I really hope the writers will not mess around with love triangles so we can enjoy the rest of the season watching Vincent and Catherine fighting together to overcome anything but I just don't know if that will happen. Uh, this. I don't want to see the monster of the week. I don't care about Gabe or Tess and if the scenes they've given us featuring those two are the best they can do, they can write them out any minute now. The dynamic last season was good. I have no idea why Catherine needed the extra baggage of an unknown biological father or what makes anyone think adult viewers want to watch that silliness. I liked the procedural aspect of the show especially since they cannot do conspiracy or deep mythology themes. Vincent and Catherine are the reason I watched. This crap they are showing me know is making me really happy I have S1 and if they keep this up, I'll be one of the ex-viewers and pretend S2 doesn't exist.

I imagine there's a frustrating aspect to it, but I'm not worried about the cast at all. It's a very fickle profession where folks seem to have a short memory. In fact, many times actors can separate themselves from a less-than-successful project and elevate their status. "His character was so poorly written but he did a great job with it...." (Or words to that effect.) You need look no further than Kristin Kreuk herself to find an example of this. Most agree that Lana was the most poorly written character of Smallville, yet Kristin brought much to the role and Lana ended up being a character that was either liked or disliked (but certainly talked about!) in the opinions of viewers.

ITA, I'm not worried about them either. They're both great actors who seem really motivated and who keep getting better and better. That's exactly why, if there isn't a S3 and they move on to other (bigger) projects that they so rightly deserve, I'll be sad for me but very happy for them. Just working on my glass half full and all that... ETA- I've never seen Smallville but I'm getting more and more curious to see KK in a different role. (I've seen JR in both Top of the Lake and in Terra Nova, but I've never seen KK in anything aside from BATB.) Might have to add that to my viewing list.

Ah, well you've missed her best work. Smallville is still not available to stream on Netflix....but maybe one of these days. The DVD/BR sets are still rather expensive and streaming from Amazon Prime (or similar) is not inexpensive either. However, when you have an opportunity, watch the whole series from start to finish. Some real good episodes but some real stinkers too. (Just like most TV series.) I'm one of the weird people that thought Season 6 was the best of Smallville. (Probably because I thought it was the best work from Kristin.) Anyways, sorry moderators for getting off the BATB ratings topic. I will slap myself.

I love Lana in season 6 too for the same reason that you do. KK was so good. I love when she broke up with Lex. That scene was so powerful ...now let's go back to the sad subject. Sigh, I'm not giving up. I don't care how many people say it's going to be cancelled or how many fans give up. I won't stop supporting the show. I'll vote non stop on the PCA. If it gets cancelled and we win, well..that will show them how much we care for this show!

Yep, that was a good one. For me it was the episode "Promise" and the scenes at the end at the church. She's forced to marry Lex, torn up inside, rips Clark's heart out and stomps on it, and then drives off with Lex with Patty Griffin singing "Heavenly Day." (One of the more memorable episodes.)
I'm not giving up either and will continue to watch. It's just 40 minutes out of a week and there will probably be some enjoyable episodes along the way. Maybe they'll surprise us and turn the BATB ship around. That would be great.

That's why it's not hard for her to cry on BATB, she had 8 and a half years of practice . I just love her acting I'm not giving up either and will continue to watch. Glad you're not giving up. I'll enjoy the ride until it last . There are some things I don't like about the show but I focus on the things I love so let's stay positive GO BATB GO!

I just love her acting There was an interview not long ago, it may have been at the NY CC where Kristin & Jay were talking about filming the final scene in the premiere for this season & asking her if it was hard for her to do that & cry! She said no not all because I cried all the time on Smallville! That is so true & nobody does it better than her! She ripped my heart out in that scene! I still cry when she breaks down on Vincent!

Savana_77 @savaesc77 11h @batbwriters @batbcaitlin Great, indeed! Btw, how do u feel about last night ratings? Really worried about it! #BATB #Reunion Caitlin O. Bauer @batbcaitlin 5h @savaesc77 Don't sweat! Just keep watching & tweeting. We're doing great on social and our DVR & online views are great! #BATB Okay, so this is what Caitlin Bauer (correct me if I'm wrong but she's the responsible for BATB social media exposure?) replied to me yesterday when I shared my worries about ratings this week. As you can see, she's being positive and continues motivating us to watch live and online, DVR and make noise in social media. Most probably they are very worried too but, what do we gain staying worried? NOTHING! So, as much as this numbers DO worry me I will support BATB until the end. I'm surprised about my own reaction because the worse are ratings or critics the more I want to fight and show the world that BATB is worthy!!! Many many people ignore this show more because of the critics or poor ratings than because they have actually watched it! I feel very sorry when I read some comments here saying that maybe they will stop watching the show but that's life and we can not expect everyone to be unconditional to the show. I also believe in the power of self-fulfilling prophecy and I DON'T WANT IT to happen to BATB. There are rumours of cancellation so people stop watching, tweeting and supporting? well, THAT is what will make the show finally get cancelled!!!! I say: FIGHT FOR WHAT YOU LOVE! THAT is true love, that's what this show is all about and me, as a passionate follower, will show HOW BRAVE IS MY LOVE for BATB! So, pleeeease, beasties, don't give up!!! Let's give a chance to this amazing show! We are just in ep 5 out of 22!!! Sooo many things can happen till then! Why don't we stay tuned and discover them together!!
