Does purchasing each episode for streaming on Amazon count towards the ratings?

Purchasing an episode does not count toward the tradition ratings of how many viewers a series has. It does help determine if/how profitable a show is. Online sales via itunes and amazon matter. Our cultures viewing habits have changed and this become an important indicator of how popular a show is-especially for a network like CW.

sorry for my English there are several factors that I think is important to take into account, apparently the United States, often following Monday football games? ... and the lack of publicity, I watched streaming last night "The Originals" and there were advertisements! Reign, Arrow, TVD, and so on, and many times more! but not one for BATB! Finally although many well-meaning Canadians watch the Sunday and Monday on the CW, it's less than an hour after the the link of the episode is already online (it's FB) that I 'm french, I can see if I want, so I guess (too) that looks just look the link! and Monday and looks something else, and this is a big problem for hearings! producers do not they have at least BATB episodes broadcast on the same day in Canada? because I am convinced that the day has a lot to delay scores BATB

Hi girls, tried to install Anonymox for accessing CW site from abroad. Installation was successful and I think I managed to connect with a US IP but for some reason when I press play it doesn't show... definetely something works well because if I try to access with my normal IP no images are shown at cwtv.com. Help? Someone installed it and had the same problem???

Hi! I'm a new poster but have loved the show (almost) since the beginning. I only just discovered this site (thankfully) out of my frustration at SpoilerTvs seeming dismissal over this show. It's like all the site admins hate it and us! I was getting frustrated because all I want to do is talk about a show I love but every time you comment over there, there's some childish person down voting everything. Anyway, admittedly, I know nothing about ratings but I can't help thinking that maybe the CW expected these kinds of ratings in this time slot and was banking on online viewing and DVR ratings to bring up the ratings. As well as knowing they have a core group of fans who would tune in no matter when they put it on. (I'm mean, really! What other show does the CW have that has won them as many awards as BATB fans have?!) They had to know that allowing Canada to air a night early would have an effect (which I am Canadian and watch both live as well as watching again on DVR) and I'm sure they would take this into consideration when looking at the ratings. Since I'm in Canada, I can't view on the CW site but figured viewing on Showcase site would increase the number of hits to their site and therefore make buying rights to BATB more appealing. Can anyone tell me if I'm right? I also live tweet but am just realizing my tweets need to be RT to be effective? I really want to help this show where I can, so please, if I need to do something different, let me know. I've already bought the iTunes season pass.

Help? Someone installed it and had the same problem??? me too! I began watching it through tunnelbear, and it worked ok, but today I had problems to connect, so decided to install Firefox (I have Chrome) and Anonimox, and apparently, installation was ok, with this new US IP I can see the images of the ep (wich I couldn't with mine) but when I press play I have the same problem, I see nothing but a black screen. I thought it might have something to do with my laptop, it's been giving me some problems lately, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it , but the problem continues...I'm going through all the internet trying to find other ways to change the IP

If the CW decided not to renew BATB could another network/provider take it on?
Last year it was described as a "cash cow" because of the international market
That interest is obviously still there
It seems outdated that the fate of a popular show is dependent on the inept handling of the CW
The publicity on the ratings still seems to focus on the Neilsen nightly figures Where is the new more accurate information to be found?
Ok pissed of rant over now Feeling frustrated by all the ratings crap

There are a lot logistics involved and usually the show would get 'shopped' to cable. It's very unlikely but I kinda wish it would happen.

Batb is like a genre of it's own. what would i replace it with if it's cancelled..

BATB was purchased in France for a large national chain M6 (not cable or TNT as they say here), but it is not out yet, I really hope there will be more seasons! M6 at the time had also purchased "Supernatural", a good sign? I hope!

CW is let's face it kinda more towards the teen population ( but I think with the exception of Supernatural..). Would BATB get better promotions and be able to appeal to a bigger demographic? Ok I don't know if I am making sense. It's just there have been good reviews lately and some they weren't interested at first but took the time to see it and had some good reviews about it. As much as ratings are important, I just hope the network do acknowledge the passion of the fanbase and know that the popularity of the show is growing, slowly maybe but it is growing. There is potential.

^ CW isn't as 'teen' as it is made out to be. I would say it is 'youth-oriented' as compared to the other networks in the US but not that much.
Arrow, Supernatural, BATB, the Originals, Nikita, even Hart of Dixie (thought it is lighter than the others) aren't teen shows. But the problem is that the CW gives this impression and people judge the network first before actually looking at the content on the network.
But the thing that is helpful about the CW is that they don't just look at ratings, they look at other factors. Which is in our favour. However, ratings should at least be decent.
