Last season during Q and A by one of the creators, i requested for viewers to see backgroundstory for Cat durng the second half, which they answered with "Cat will face some challenges" So with that unreassuring answer i was very dissapointed to find out that even on the second half, they didn`t even have time to give their #1 Lead her own independent arc and sowehow got the time to turned the show into about another Beast (Gabe) which they gave their full focus and attention, So less Beauty and even more Beasts....like they didn`t spent enough time on the first half dealing with mostly Vincent`s beastie issue. Eventhough KK had more screentime i felt like mostly all of that were wasted with her being obssesed with Vincent with no time to deal with her ownself, her own issue that has nothing to do with being Vincent`s protector. So yeah..i`m not saying they should stop with the Beast mythology or stop with vincat romance, just asking to see more balance between all the focus on Vincent and give some to Cat. Let her be her own INDEPENDENT FREE WOMAN!
I`d hate to think all she has been doing for 3 months without Vincent is being sad, miserable and depresif while Vincent is off doing "greater purpose". GIVE cAT A GREATER PURPOSE TOO!

From what we heard at Comic Con I think in Season 2 all the main characters are going to spend time on "discovering who they are".. (Who am I?) Hopefully this means we'll see more of Cat dealing with herself, her personal life, apart from Vincent. KK said Cat's character is going to develop a lot so maybe you'll get what you want to see! Let's hope this time they won't edit out a lot of small but important scenes which defines the character.

I kind of like the fact there's a mysterious back-story to most of the characters. I think it builds a drama into the show that otherwise wouldn't be there. They've teased the first episode as "Who am I?" and that theme of the show (this season) will apply to all of the characters, but that doesn't mean they will actually explain it to us. In many ways Cat is the most muddled character of the show. Sort of pathetic one minute and tough as nails the next. We were left with numerous questions about her background which the wandering narrative of the show never explained or answered. You don't actually need to answer those questions, but if the narrative were more focused the show would have captured some more viewers and the renew drama could have been avoided. JT is the only character who seems even halfway focused.

Must admit I am very worried about how they intend to portray Catherine handling Vincent's absence - given that the producers allowed the writers to toss her back and forth last season. Either she is a strong, independent young woman who has dedicated herself to not being a victim and using that personal committment to help others - or she isnt - what she cannot be is a whining, weak puddle one minute and a kickass in control focussed woman the next - and thats what we had week in week out. KK did a creditable job with what she was given however she cannot magic up credibility in a character thats written so inconsistently.
I watch the programme with a group of young women and they are all adamant that they will, to quote Vincent "walk away" if the new season is presented to us with Vincent and Catherine being messed about in respect to their relationship - give us new bad guys and new jeopardy, fine, all good - try to stick some Muirfield female beast into the mix and watch the numbers drop and the complaint emails to the corporate sponsors (no more wasting time on CW or CBS - go for the money source) rise.

I`d rather her to meet Vincent at the very first episode (we know they won`t get together that fast,so the only scenario is that Cat will get dumped again by Vincent for the 10th times already geez) instead of spending 3 or 5 epis being whiney, drinking and over obsessing his lost while Vincent is getting a cool independent arc of doing"bigger things". I`d hate that! So let her get over it, let her Move on! Give Cat her own independent arc that has nothing to do of being obsessed over the Beast every single time.

What a dissapointment! Look if you decide that this is going to be a disappointment for you then that's exactly what it's going to be for you!!! How can you say this, you haven't seen one episode let alone an entire season! You could give it a chance! Watch it with an open mind and don't let any prejudice ruin the show for you! Be positive!

Looking at the recent spoilers, season two going to be another Vincent focused season again! and everyone who saw the premiere said Cat going to be so obsess and forget everyone else. What a dissapointment! If it makes you feel better, Sherri Cooper ( one of the Exec Prod/writers) answered a couple of questions asking if Cat will get more of a story and not be Vincent's "babysitter" and have her own "arc" this season. And she said, " yes, promise!"
And.....I read another tweet reply from Sherri that Vincent WILL be chasing after Cat.......you won't see Cat the only one working to get back the relationship. Here's hoping. Sorry, I wish I knew how to screen capture Tweet conversations. If anyone could give me a little tutorial I would appreciate it, Thanks!

Thanks Dearie!! It has a better meaning as a visual than just me typing it, right! We will hold Sherri to that promise....lol. Looking at the gifs in Yolies Sig......I would like to see Catherine know that Vincent has a hard time controlling himself when he is around her. I think we got a spoiler that Vincent , even with his 'mind wipe', he still is drawn to Cat. Plus, a script tease also suggests that even though Cat could stay away from Vincent, she can not promise that he will "stay away from" her. That is what I want to see,.....Vincent not being able to stay away from Catherine. Whenever you have time can you pm me how you captured that Tweet Yolie? Thankies!!

Despite Cat not getting the focus she deserves, Ialso Just wish for once the writers especially the creators won`t let their fangirl obsession on Vincent affect their writing on Cat. She was supposed to be the strong independent type instead they made her into like a wimpy, clingy, dependable, forgive cheating, not caring abt others because her "creepy" super obsession with the Beast. That`s not how you suppose write a strong lead female at all!

See this has always happen, the first eps of the season are always Vincent centric and then they promised us cat will be more involve after the break, and we`d find out it`s all going to be all abt Vincent again. sigh! It`s hard being a viewer of this show and expect to see the beauty getting more story than the beast. Is that too much to ask?

I have to agree with you Dan. As much as I adore Jay and his portrayal of Vincent I would like to see more about Catherine's life. I thought Reunion would have been a perfect opportunity for that but it definitely fell short of that. I thought Kristin was adorable in all of her scenes especially the dancing scene. I think we will get more about Catherine's past when they reveal more about mean bio dad but they are going to make us wait, and it seems like a while.
