^ It was the draft for a sport LOL..I don't know what sport but it was on TV over 10 million people viewed it or something like that so that could have beena factor in the amount of viewers..just saying..HOPEFULLY this Thursday a Vincent can bring up the rating with his HOTNESS!! YUM! LOL It was the NFL Draft (National Football League). The first round was on Thursday evening, and the first round is the one everyone cares about. Viewers drop off a lot after the first night. I am a HUGE NFL fan, but that night, my loyalty was to BatB!!! Don't know how that might have affected the ratings, though. Super majority of those NFL viewers would have been men. What percentage of BatB viewership are men, do you think?

That would explain things ..Just saying LOL..I'm no expert

Just a friendly reminder...Even though we got a second season doesn't mean we shouldn't watch the ratings! We have to ROAR more then ever to prove to te CW that they made the right choice when giving us the renewal...WE MUST WATCH LIVE,DVR and ONLINE to get the ratings either the same or higher then last week!!! So let's ROCK and ROAR!!!! Sorry if I sound like abroken record but we fought so hard to get a second season we must continue and not let our guard down Yolie

Ratings for Anniversary 0.5 /1.25 on par with last week's episode. Did Max Brown's departure result in the loss of some 250,00 - 300,000 viewers or is it going up against original episodes of Grey's and POI

The .5 was decent, but I would have been much happier with a .6 or .7. I do think the ratings were impacted by the draft. I'm hoping as other shows wrap up the ratings will improve for the final few episodes. I hope were get great ratings for our EPIC season finale.

I am with you but i have unfortunately learned that with n ratings we should take what we can get! thank god that the cw doesn't only look at this when deciding which series to renew!

I think with the daylight saving time and people being out later in the evening poeple aren't watching TV that much LIVE..I believe they are DVR and watching later...Even the major shows are showing drops in viewers in this time of sweeps..That's why I'm not to worried although I do wish the ratings went higher then a 5 and don't just stay there the last 2 episodes

Stiff competition vs. Max's departure? I'm not sure. We certainly cannot rule out the competitive time slot for our show. BATB has some great shows going against it. We also can't rule out the times the show has been preempted in some areas due to sports. I have to say, though, that Max has a lot of fans. Will they stay with the show through thick and thin, even after his departure? Some people may have actually tuned in, because Max was on the show. I noticed that HOD had a .6 and now we've had .5 two weeks in a row. If some fans were upset about Max leaving they may stop watching. Provided they're Nielsen viewers, it could leave an impact.
Sadly, though, we haven't seen a .7 since On Thin Ice. I guess we have the Alex arc to thank for the loss of viewers. We've seen first hand that when people are upset with the direction a show is going, they tune out. This could have happened with Evan's arc as well. No Max/Evan could equal lost viewers. Now I'm not saying this is what happened, but it's possible. Personally, I feel the show has lost a great talent. I didn't even know who Max was until BATB, but I was intrigued by his character and I wanted to know more about him. Watching episodes 1 through 18 will be bittersweet for me now, after what happened to Evan. I know this show is about a Beauty and a Beast. And I do like them. But this charming British Medical Examiner got me hooked on the show. For someone who thought she would initially be drawn in by the love story, that's high praise indeed.

I understand that the US Neilsen ratings system is going to be replaced or revamped, What is going to replace it and how will it work and when will it happen/ I'm from the UK and am curious to know these things and how it would affect BATB in future seasons.

What is interesting or concerning is that Beauty did manage that 0.7 / 1.72 against new episodes of Grey's, Glee, and Person of Interest back on Jan. 31 but after the writers went with that "My choice isn't so clear," a quarter million viewers didn't come back for the following episode. They did get back to 1.72 million viewers for Insatiable, but the numbers for the last two episodes might not be doing much to keep the show off of Friday nights next season. Last season, Hart of Dixie's last three episodes got a 0.6 rating and drew 1.37, 1.39 and 1.6 million viewers.

True this.
Out here it was sunny all week in the whole state of California.
When the fog is gone up in the Bay Area coast folks go crazy. It's their chance to wear flip flops and shorts. And we are out late into the evenings. Even though I was out of town, I heard it was awesome here last week. Plus our local basketball team was on fire last Thursday. Lots of folks were watching the game. I bet BATB got low ratings from up here.
It's a good thing the show has been renewed already.
