ok, so for canadian residents, what can we do to get ratings counted? I know there is the whole tunnel bear thing, I did that last year and for reasons I don't want to get into, I won't be subscribing this year, and no, it was not free, it was a monthly subscription. Anywho, can canadians purchase itunes and have it be counted? Where do I go for that, is it itunes.com or itunes.ca or what? What else can we do? I have the CW channel on my tv but if I watch it or have it on in the background on Monday night in Canada, does that matter or help or is it only US residents?

As for the CW station in Canada If the show is aired on Monday as the US and it's on the CW then it helps the ratings for the USA.

this whole discussion freaks me out! i am stressed out about the very serious possibility of getting no third season, but cannot bear the thought of a mid season cancellation

I don't think it's realistic to expect the ratings to ever get considerably higher. The show simply doesn't appeal to a wide enough demographic. I think that limitation was known/understood by the producers from day one.
That said, it's premature to get all worked up about a possible mid-season cancellation. As a few of the other posters have noted recently, let's wait and take a look at the ratings after the show has finished the calendar year and gone through the November sweeps period. A definite trend will have most likely developed by then.

OK, so I live in NJ, and for once I'm not being pre-empted Monday. I'm not a Nielsen family. So what exactly are my marching orders?
1. Watch live. 2. DVR it and then watch it again without fast-forwarding through commercials. 3. Tweet about it during, before and after the episode, using the hashtag #BATB.
Anything else I should do?

Not that it was expected that the show have ratings like the premiere a year ago but I honestly was hoping on at list the same rating as Never Turn Back which was 0.5/1 and 1.25 mil viewers...if we can from now on get to that and stick to it...it will give us a better shot...lets not forget all the other factors...online...itunes..cw site and now twitter...I'm not dooming it..nit by a long shot...just trying to update and inform of what things are...

Very good!DVR with commercials if you watch before 3am the night of airing..if you watch DVR anytime after you must skip commercials. Also the show is put up at cwtv.com watch the stream that counts too..its up at the site next day

this whole discussion freaks me out! i am stressed out about the very serious possibility of getting no third season, but cannot bear the thought of a mid season cancellation I know what you mean, but in reality there's not an awful lot we can do. I live in the Uk and even I managed to watch it before some people in the US. I am going to try and relax and enjoy it , or else what is the point? If we are all stressed out then the joy of the show is somewhat lost. Don't get me wrong I will do whatever I can to show my support But I have to trust that things will somehow work out

For itunes passes it must be US not any other country for it to count...being in US I watch live(which doesn't count for me) I watch DVR and then everyday until the next episode I watch on cwtv at least 2 twice a day...this has become a routine of mine...hence the knowledge I have for the show lol.

Of course you're not incorrect. The other factors...online..itunes..etc also apply to other TV shows, so it's a (relative) ratings game. The easy answer to the ratings issue is to make the show better. Time will tell on that.

Yes I saw that! And to double punch is CB is talking that if the ratings don't improve that CW might take BATB off the Monday schedule and put the Carrie Diaries instead. Canceling BATB... We must get the ratings UP tomorrow! Where are you getting the information that " CB (I assume you mean CW) is talking" And just a reminder or for any people new to TV BY The Numbers Bubble Watch or Cancellation Bear, when it comes to predicting the renewal of the CW bubble shows , that site has been discredited as a reliable source so people really shouldn't react based on anything posted there. Unless things have changed, they have no insider network sources, they don't have access to any $$ figures, production deals, international sales, or online viewing statistics, which is why two years ago they were wrong about Nikita and Hart of Dixie getting renewed and last year they were wrong about BATB and Carrie Diaries. The Bubble Watch and Cancellation Bear columns serve to drive traffic to TBTN site, but should be taken with a grain of salt when it comes to the CW bubble shows. Also don't forget that their idea of cancellation, is not getting renewed for another season. Personally, I don't think the show can continue to get a .3 and get a third season, but then many didn't think the Carrie Diaries would get any type of renewal with 7 of its last 8 episodes getting a .4, one episode getting a .3 and averaging 1 mil. viewers so who knows. Last season, Deadline.com and TVWise.com seemed to have the most accurate and relevant info with regards to what was going on at the CW. TVBTN is good for being able to check the Nielsen numbers the following day and the Live+7 when those are released, but TVSeriesfinale.com is a better site for easily finding a show's season ratings and viewing numbers. I do hope the show can get back to a .5. When they moved it to Monday with HOD, got rid of Souders and Peterson and hired Brad Kern, I thought they might be heading toward more romantic drama territory but once they started talking about the new direction and Beast 2.0, I started thinking that they were grooming the show to take over the Friday slot once Nikita finishes and wouldn't be surprised if they did move it to Fridays after the winter break assuming Reign doesn't completely tank.

As for the new shows vs. BATB episode wise, going by itunes at the moment BATB is doing way better, likewise on Hulu.
Monday isn't a easy night to begin with, more so when one of the hottest shows this season now airs in the same timeslot as BATB and BATB not having a very good lead in doesn't help matters either.
