it's sad that international beasties can't contribute much in this. coz i am pretty certain (just look at the bday wishes for jr and austin on youtube!) they are huuuugggeeee oh yes for sure! i think BATB is quite big in many countries (not sure how many of the CW shows are). depending on how much they sell the shows for abroad it may be quite a profitable thing for the cw. as i said, i dont know they may sell the shows for cheap and/or many other cw shows do well abroad

I have a couple of questions
What overall ratings would be needed for BATB to be judged ok in a Monday timeslot.(including twitter stuff)
When are these figures published
Are preemptions taken into account
Does the CW factor in its popularity and profitability outside the US
Just trying to understand its chances of success

Too answer plain and simple..ratings is all about ADVERTIZING dollars...The idea behind the ratings isn't the what brings the networks the money..It's the advertizements that sponsor the shows that BRING in the money...A show that has lots of viewers gets lot more people to view the commercials which in fact pays for the shows. As for your question about the shows: Yes for the most part every year the networks buy pilots for new shows...This is for the purpose of finding something solid that works for the network..If the 100, Tomorrow People ,Reign do better then BATB then we'll have the same crap we had last year. With the cancel yes and no crap. We already know that Arrow and TVD will get another season and most likely Supernatural if they want to go a10t season will do so too. Now the rest of the shows..it's still too early to tell. Note I'm no expert LOL I'm just telling you what i know. I could be wrong cause I've been known to be on occasion u r right arrow, tvd, supernatural r getting another season and originals and tomorrow people ratings r really good there is a hype about the "reign" show too we just have to wait and see how the ratings hold hod is a no brainer for renewal cuz of syndication. if we pull off 0.6 ratings from now on we will be on for 3 rd season

I'm guessing te networks themselves have goals for the show and that's what they will work with. Preemption are taken into account yes. How they are going to calculate the airing tomorrow in the EAST COAST of BATB Don't know Yes CW factors mostly profitability of a show outside the USA One thing is certain though..THERE is a way to make this turnaround..We have to stick together and do everything in our power. International Beasties can help with trending it's just not by the way the USA twitter members can. But you can still do your part.

Dammit! I live in the Monday night football capital of the world apparently. On 10/21 BATB is once again being preempted in NY/NJ, this time for a Giants game. That'll mean another ratings hit.

Yes I saw that! And to double punch is CB is talking that if the ratings don't improve that CW might take BATB off the Monday schedule and put the Carrie Diaries instead. Canceling BATB... We must get the ratings UP tomorrow!

I mean it's only been 1 episode so far and there was sports then etc? But TCD never had higher ratings than BATB right? And one site mentioned BATB remains steady w ratings? although when I checked it out it looked lower. although I do not think the shift to Mon was needed. But where did you hear that?

This is just complete BULL<edited>!!!! How can they expect a show to do well when it gets ZILCH promotion, is paired with a show that has absolutely NO relation or connection to it, is competing with TOUGH competition and has its episode aired in another country the night before and has gone viral before it even airs on The CW? ?? Oh and is preempted for some stupid football game!!! Don't they take into consideration other factors like iTunes sales, international sales, twitter ratings or whatever you call it and online views on The CW??? My cousin from the Middle East just texted me yesterday that they will be airing BATB on MBC 4, which is a popular tv network in the ME that airs American movies and shows. Don't all these factor to something?? Don't the advertisements shown during all the above contribute to our beloved show? ? I'm going insane here!!!

The way it works is that if a show doesn't do well..1. It gets moved to another night. If that doesn't work then the show won't be renewed for the next season. The bad thing about BATB that be it cause of all the competition on Monday including Sleepy Hollow the ratings dropped 40% from May finale...this isn't good...
NOW we have to factor the preempt in the East Coast..tomorrow's numbers are vital cause no preemption anywhere. .
Now what I'm interested in is the live+7 dvr and the twitter ratings...that comes out on Tuesday...we'll see how we fair there. But remember that 90210 started around the same we did and look what happened to it.
I think that the promotion of the show sucks too...these people need to promote on major shows. ..Ellen..late shows talk shows not just morning shows but actual talk shows
Hell put big billboards to promote it..show more commercials

It's funny you mention the moving to a new night issue as I read lots of posts on facebook stating that US residents had NO idea that it had been moved to Monday!! Some promotion this show has huh?
