Yes, agreed. The show stumbled at the start - risky for a new series to take five or more episodes to find it's footing! And still there were moments of inconsistency - they knew where they wanted to go with the story, but seemed confused as to how to get there, or were trying to appease everyone, like too many cooks in the kitchen? Or inconsistencies with plot points that did not confer with a similar point made earlier. (Such as - willing to go away with Alex for a "romantic weekend" then later the story line Vincent tells Catherine about being afraid of physical intimacy with her because of what happened with the last lady....huh? So he didn't care is he "beasted out" on poor Alex? You know - things like that that seem unprofessional for the writers to not remember.) So it looked sloppy. If they can polish it up, improve consistency, then perhaps they can win more viewers. I hope the studio gives it a chance! Cheers! Maria, Jay said in an interview somewhere that .. Vincent was not going away for a "dirty weekend" so to speak but because Catherine was insisting on telling Alex about his condition. If you watch that episode again Catherine consistently tells Vincent that if he wanted to move forward with Alex he had to tell her everything. If Vincent wanted to have sex with Alex he could have when she dropped the blue towel or multiple other times Alex made herself available. I know we were confused as the viewer but that was the mindset of Vincent as explained to us via Jay.

The thing is, I don't think he had any intention of sleeping with Alex. He didn't look upon it as a romantic get away, more like a chance to talk. So the writing remains intact there. And yes, they did stumble a little at the beginning but a lot of shows do that. I mean look how much X-files changed over the course of their run. And I don't want them to change the show so much in order to gain new viewers that they alienate their core fans. I mean the second half of this season has been nothing short of spectacular!! I think they've found their footing now. Hopefully, the CW will run a marathon of BatB over the summer and people can catch up on what the twitter buzz is all about. If we can get folks to watch a couple of eppies, we'll have 'em hooked for sure!

But still, there were several inconsistencies in the season, and the way they editted the epi, and the action scenes ......., and VIncent's scar was different for times...... but I guess these are not too hard to solve, hopefully they will fix them next season.....

Oh yes - I know that part, and realize why he needed to see / tell Alex everything - as he said "to do the right thing", and as one who appreciated the Alex story line for that reason too. But the way it was portrayed, made it ambiguous - well, perhaps to those that don't watch the show over and over again! There are viewers who may not have had the help of reading Jay's interiview / additional explanation. (I know éh - the horror! How could people NOT want to read his interviews?!) We analyze every scene, every line, and still pull it apart with each other here. Not everyone does that. Not that I want the writers to spoon-feed us of course. Well here's how to solve it - the writers just need to call me, tell me everything they have planned, and I'll tell them what they need to cut, improve, highlight, extend, and extrapolate upon. But then it would perhaps have to be renamed the "Just to stare at Jay Ryan" show!

it`s not like the reason Vincent wanted to tell Alex was because he was breaking up w her and never see her again, he told alex so they could be together and run off to sunset together. You really expect they could ran away together to whatever country as a couple and never planned to have sex? Dont get me start w the whole "doing right things' BS that the writers came up with. and there are just many other inconsistent stories that im to lazy to write.
I know im hard to sell but the show has so many Major Inconsistencies that a 15 years old could easily notice, they better fix it up fast in season 2.

Hey guys I'm gonna make my final specuation as short as possible I have a lot of searching to do today for the upfront photos, vids and whatever I can find. So after watching the promos, the clips and reading the interviews this is my take on what I think will happen OR not tonight. First of..I knew Gabe would have to take Catherine...it would be the ONLY way VIncent would give himself. The idea that the first few minutes are romantic and then before the first commercial all <edited> hits the fan I too expected. TOO much stuff to cover in one episode. What has me confused is the cotton candy scene, the kiss in the loft(stills) and whatever happens to her father and Gabe grabbing her all happens the first 10 minutes? That again sounds rushed. SO Gabe takes her to his mansion and Tyler suppose to do his bidding in the meantime. JT and Vincent go crazy looking for her but where is Tess? How does she find out? That I have no clue. I think we are going to see a side of Vincent that we never have and this sort of scares me..By this I mean he will be thinking with his heart and will be desperate to find her...But what can he do when he does? He took the pill. Remember I said in the promo that the clip he was in his room that face he had was either of fear or sadness? I think it's both..That's when he hits the point of fearing he could actually lose Catherine. I think we are going to need tissues for this..I can't see an upset Vincent. The question now comes when he finds her..what then? He has no BEAST powers so like in Date Night he's going to get his HUMAN ass kicked..MORE Pain for me! In the meantime Gabe is gving her his back story and flashbacks. JT gets beat up by Tyler. Tyler meets her maker. Tess I don't know how she fits in but she saves JT's arse. Once Vincent gets Catherine and we know he does cause of the promo they have the heart to heart...IMO the writers are going to give us their declaration to each other ...This to rip our hearts out when what some of us know will happen. But I'm getting ahead of myself, Vuncent tries to fight Gabe in human form and is getting his butt kicked...Catherine somehow gets a hold of what I think is a massive drug with adrenaline to make Vincent BEAST out. Vincent becomes Beast and him and Gabe fight MANO a MANO or should I say BEAST ON BEAST? Of course we know that Gabe is stronger then Vincent so Vincent is still getting his butt kicked...Somehow Vincent finally beats Gabe down and when he thinks he's done Gabe once again gets up..As they are fighting (well you know what happens here I'm not going to spoil it for anyone) ABout Catherine's family reveal...You know I know and I even told you about the mystery guy in DN so that's a given..Jay and Kristin said yesterday in interviews that the reveal will be given to the viewers and that Catherine goes into the second season NOT knowing this. My only questions are does Catherine find out that Vincent knew about her parents? How or who tipped M as to the whereabouts of the mansion? What happens to Heather? One thing I have a feeling about...for season 2...Vincent won't be found so easily...M will do more crap to him..Spydancer we are going to suffer seeing Vincent be probed and abused...Gabe will be DEAD DEAD..Why I say..cause it doesn't make sense to bring him back..If he's already dying if he continues taking the pills or if he becomes a BEAST at all times he's useless..So IMO he will die. I could be wrong cause this is DRAMA TV but I don't see any advancement in his character..it's a grim reality for him..dead cause of pill or beast all the time. For now that's all folks...Hope you enjoyed this little essay..It's not as long as my usual ones but these is specualtions. Have agreat BEASTday and rememebr to come back here after the episode airs so we BEASTIES can cry together! Yolie

Interviews begin to ROLL in!! I just put the link..Jay HAD LOTS TO SAY LOL!! Jay Ryan Previews Beauty and the Beast's 'Heartbreaking' Finale, Teases 'Big OMG Moment' TVLine.comYolie TVLINE | How would you describe the closing moments of the finale? What kind of emotions will people be going through? It’s pretty heartbreaking, and I could see how if we didn’t get another season that the audience would be sort of hanged by the nails and with one or two tears dropping. It’s lucky that we got another season so we can carry on where we leave off, but it’s still pretty heartbreaking. Also, in the final 30 seconds, we discover a new character who is very close to one of our lead characters — and that is a big OMG moment as well. Who's going to join me??

The only thing saving this day, are the interviews and pictures. I'm horrified by everything else. I'd like to stay in bed and wallow all day. By the way I loved the way they asked about the love scenes. Very polite and well phrased. Oh and if Jay says we need tissues or that tears may be shed... I believe him.
