The previous thread is getting a bit long, so lets continue ratings discussion here.

I just want to repeat that while some weight should be given to TVbytheNumbers' predictios; the CW is one of the hardest Networks to predict given they don't operate like most of the other networks... If they did, just about all their shows would be cancelled. Actually, I take that back, ALL of their shows WOULD be cancelled based on ratings.
I've seen some people say this is the network for shows that will reach syndication. That does seem to be what is saving Nikita, so I wouldn't be surprised. Also that's one reason why I've thought HOD would be renewed.
That being said, BATB does have to get their numbers up or they will be cancelled. Right now it looks like TCD or BATB will be renewed, but this is all guessing because no one knows what Pilots have been ordered. To be honest, with the numbers TCD pulls, I really can't see why CW would give it 13 more episodes. I'd rather give the 13 episode order to BATB because at least those will be sold overseas for $1.5 million an episode.
TVbytheNumbers determines what will or won't be renewed "by the numbers." When their predictions are off it's because more than the demo ratings went into the decision on whether to renew or cancel. It may seem to you guys like, "WTH? We trended! We won a PCA! We have fan campaigns!" and so on and so forth, but TVbytheNumbers doesn't rely on any of that. Why? Because sometimes they work, sometimes they don't, but the demo ratings are more reliable in determining whether a show will or will not be renewed.
So please don't get upset just based on their prediction. Other sites differ on BATB's renewal status because it is 50/50 right now. I am giving the edge to it for renewal based on information I am aware of, which partially has come to me because I am a Beastie. I've made myself as aware as I could about the numbers for BATB -- numbers beyond just the demo, such as how well it sells overseas, etc. -- because I am very interested in whether or not the show gets renewed.
All that being said, I also don't want anyone to think I'm one of those people that always thinks my shows will be renewed. I watch a few shows right now that I know will be ending this season.
I just think that with everything Beasties are doing behind the scenes, as well as how well the show is doing overseas, and then also with the fact that it is the only CBS-solely-owned show on CW right now that hasn't been cancelled (90210 is the other), I just really see CBS wanting to keep it.
But it we start pulling 0.3 or something like that, the show is a goner. I think 0.5 is on the edge though. I think we all know 0.6, 0.7 is where the show needs to be -- if not higher. However, I do wonder if when the Saturday markets were added in if that didn't push BATB up to 0.6.
I need to gather all the numbers for BATB and average them out. I think if we keep an average of 0.6 or higher than BATB is probably safe.
I do think we need to heavily promote the repeats as well though, show that BATB can do just as well on other nights & without TVD.
I think Milo said she was passing out flyers... maybe it'd be good to make a flyer promoting the show AND when it will be on the air to put up on college campuses, on community bulletin boards, and so on. What do you guys think?

The Bear has been pretty much following me CW prediction-wise this entire time. I think the Bear is more cautious with their CW predictions. I mean it took the Bear a while to admit that 90210 would be cancelled. It took the Bear a while to admit that HOD would likely be renewed. It took the Bear a while to admit that TCD would be cancelled. I think the Bear is just more cautious given it's dealing with its (potential) food haha Based on TCD's 0.4 again this week. I'm calling it as completely dead. This is good for BATB. IF BATB can get its numbers up, it has a strong shot, especially since it's the only scripted solely CBS production on CW right now that hasn't been cancelled already. (90210 was the other it's cancelled; ANTM I've heard is also CBS but that's reality TV.) The only way I see TCD getting saved is if ALL the Pilots ordered were so terrible that the CW renewed HOD, Nikita, AND BatB and still had space. I really don't see this happening. My predictions remain the same... Certain Renewals: Hart of Dixie; Nikita (22 episode order for each) Likely Renewal: Beauty & the Beast (13 episode order) Certain Cancellations: The Carrie Diaries; Cult

The Carrie Diaries seems to be stuck at a .4 and its viewership dipped down below a million this week. Good news for BATB. I really doubt the CW is only going to have 5 of its scripted series returning next season. Especially sense the new shows they are picking up next season might tank like Cult. It wouldn't be wise of them to fill up half their schedule with new shows.
So I really think its going to come down to either BATB or TCD being renewed and at this point they would be crazy to pick TCD over BATB. I'm still hoping that BATB's ratings will go up because .05 is really on the edge.

So, I'm guessing the adjustments haven't been posted yet since it was delayed in certain areas due to basketball. The 0.5 is decent, but not great. We really need that to be higher. Is there more basketball this Thursday too? With another 2 week hiatus coming up soon, we really need those ratings to pick up!! TCD seems be stagnating and not improving much and I like our chances if it's BATB/TCD fighting for a spot for a second season. I would feel much better about our chances if our ratings go up though. The show is getting better and better and it seems there is more chatter about the show and I just can't figure out why the ratings don't reflect that. Hope AMP repeat does well in tomorrow's ratings.

I wonder if the Justin Timberlake special that aired before the repeat will have any effect on the ratings. Hopefully it got more viewers than an episode of Hart of Dixie would have and they didn't change the channel before the opening scene of BATB started and it kept them interested lol.

That Justin Timberlake concert on CW was very good minus Ryan Seacreast. Why does he have to be in everything jeez!!!
I saw parts of the concert. I hope it was a great lead into the repeated episode of BATB. I think it helped. A lot of the young crowd was going to watch that tonite.
By the way, JT's album is very good. I am wearing it out.

I guess that is not surprising .... given that it was a repeat that the fanbase has seen repeatedly! .... bring on "Insatiable" and some new viewers! .... Honestly? ... at least Robert Seidman took a stand ... I didn't like his stand and don't agree with it, but at least he put himself out there .... this "toss up" is a win win situation for the bear ... way too easy! ... makes me care less what he says. But who am I after all? ... just a reader that won't be back.

Ratings are in again..TVBTN CW Beauty And The Beast - R 0.2/0 0.53 Is that a series low? Ouch. I guess I shouldn't be surprised since that episode is so fresh in people's minds already so they decided to watch...but still I can't help but feel disappointed. Knowing that it has matched an HOD repeat is a good however. Praying for some good ratings for tomorrow's episode!!!
