^ This is the FIRST show I've ever gotten into from the PILOT, mostly cause nothing really appeared to me from the get go..I got into the X-Files, Farscape and the original BATB when the shows were already in certain seasons..So I do get how people may come in if there's a second season..I'm sure once they watch..they will be hooked like I was LOL Am I being bias?? Maybe a little

www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-fi-ct-the-cw-20130326,0,2655883.story Mark Pedowitz is trying to attract a more diverse audience to the CW Network since its median viewer age is 42. I think this quote sounds very promising. "What's happening now is that they're moving away from an exclusive focus on teens and … slowly moving into a more twentysomething focus/supernatural market," Howe said. "Rather than always going to the trouble of capturing a new set of viewers every year, why not just age with the same people?" (Neil Howe, an authority on generations and president of the consulting firm LifeCourse Associates). I think this means that Beauty and the Beast is exactly the kind of show they want to pursue. It said that the procedural element of BATB was intended to lure male viewers - EPIC FAIL on that score as the procedural element was never very good to begin with. I think the recent action-packed episodes and building mythology will help to rectify this. Mark Pedowitz had this to say Beasties: Digital platforms now account for 20% of the CW's in-season viewership, according to the network. Becoming stronger in that area is a big priority. It strengthened its website, and last year switched to next-day streaming for episodes of its prime-time series. The network also entered into two major online distribution deals with Netflix Inc. and Hulu, the former estimated to be worth $1 billion. The deals helped the network become profitable for the first time last year with about $39 million in cash flow and net revenue of $621 million, up from $528 million in 2009, industry consulting firm SNL Kagan said. And he goes on to say (and this is what caught my attention): "But its ratings would be higher, Pedowitz suggests, if viewership measurement were more comprehensive. The CW's series see a significant boost from DVR playback. "Arrow" has averaged about 3.4 million viewers per episode this season, but when DVR numbers are factored in, the average viewership rises to 4.5 million. "The Vampire Diaries" averages about 2.8 million viewers, and sees a rise to 4 million when DVR views are included."

I don't think we should quote and re-quote negative opinions that aren't based fact. He's just a negative nancy that's always hated BATB and has never and will never give BATB a chance. He's totally not the target market anyways. By spreading it, you're just validating his opinion and creating a story bigger than it is. I think the ratings last night were good. It was a repeat and we did 660,000 w/demo 0.2. It was a REPEAT. Hart of Dixie wasn't even on and hasn't been on for at least 2 weeks so their viewers didn't tune in. The 8 PM slot was some animated kids movie about a rabbit made in the 1970s. It looked totally outdated and it was an easter movie. That's what BATB had as a lead-in - it was boring and totally different target audience. So i think BATB did good. Plus, i get the LA broadcast and BATB had no audio at all for 10-15 minutes of BATB. It was silent which I'm sure ticked off viewers to turn off. I'm diehard so I waited. CW needs to get their <edited> together and have correct audio sound playing for their shows. Lastly, Hart of Dixie REPEAT aired on Monday and their lead-in was a BRAND NEW much-hyped Carrie Diaires episode and both shows were under 1 million. NEW Carrie Diaries 940,000 0.4 REPEAT Hart of Dixie 420,000 0.1 REPEAT BATB 660,000 0.2 tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2013/03/26/tv-ratings-monday-the-voice-up-from-last-falls-premiere-revolution-dips-2-broke-girls-mike-and-molly-up/174992/All things considering, in my opinion did good. Our BATB repeat was higher in both demo and viewers compared to HOD. The CW never advertises that BATB repeats are on Tuesday. We didn't get a good lead in (old bunny movie) and Carrie Diaries NEW episode was under 1 million.

^ I agree with you!! The numbers are good for a repeat. Thursdays RATING are the ONE'S that really count! We need a 6 again or higher to get this ball really rolling!

I know right, I hate how every time when the ratings are uploaded they write same same old story....we will be axed and so on.... it's so annoying

Sooo ... not too bad for a repeat ... Unless they are doing some investigative piece, where they have interviewed the cw executives and such, and it is sourced, I really don't care what their "opinions" are. We all have them

Like you said, it is a repeat and people have, like myself, watched it a million times already. And as long as the Carrie Diaries continues to not break even 1 million viewers, with all of its hype, I think we are good.
We should really be focusing on Thursday.

Considering it was a repeat from a few days ago, I think that is fine. It is potential new fans that will tune in on Thursday and that is what we need.
As for Marc Berman, I watch his podcasts from time to time. He is old school ratings and hated the pilot of BATB. He said it would be cancelled after the pilot. I agree with above postings, ignore and don't post. Let's just talk it up, promote it and make them all eat their words. It does not help get viewers if people repost stuff about cancellation.
I want a 0.7 so bad tomorrow I can taste it!! I have gotten my son to agree to give it another try. He is 20 and out of the house, hoping he will like it. We used to watch Smallville together-so fingers crossed. I am going to email a few old friends and see if I can get them to watch online if nothing else. Let's hang in there, think positive, fight for it and WIN!!

^ Good job dickens! Hopefully your son will get into. I'm 21 and I totally love it, not just because of VinCat but the action and suspense. When Cat kicks butt it's some of the best parts.

Carie's diary is canceled for the next year, does it mean we have larger odds for the renewal? As far as I'm aware there has been no official news regarding TCD being canceled. Sorry I do not mean to talk about uncertain news, I said that because last night I read that from a famous Chinese entertainment website (there was time different so it was daytime in CHina), that cw decided to cancel TVD so that they have more resources to support "Arrow" because the much larger popularity it has now to young audience. In the news, they summarized the overall situation of several companies' shows : ABC, FOX, HBO, CBS and CW......It does not look like an arbitrary story, that is why I bought it when I read it. news.sina.com.tw/article/20130328/9260896.html this is the webpage of the news, but it is CHinese......I guess maybe we will know soon BTW, BATB producers are having production meetings for Season two currently, it looks very promising that we can have another season ;D
