Thank you, Jacki! I just reblogged it and tweeted it on our Save Each Other Tumblr and twitter ;D Awesome!! I was really excited to find it. I know the CW gave us a commercial, but they didn't put any banner up on the CW website, and I feel like they should've. i honestly dont feel even inclined to watch either of the shows. i am also upset that the carie diaries are getting a lot of promotion even in other networks and batb i havent seen any, only a couple in the cw channel, mostly during the shows re-runs Yeah, I've noticed the surge of television commercials for The Carrie Diaries. I'm not going to watch it when it airs. If you Google, you can actually find out exactly what happens in the Pilot. It is incredibly, incredibly stupid. But it explains why it's just a mid-season show. It's annoying because CW will be renewing TVD, SPN, and Arrow. Regardless of what you may hear elsewhere, these are pretty much guarantees. It's stupid not to count them as renewed in factoring in how many spots CW has for next year. CW will probably add between 2-5 new shows for 2013-2014. Which means we'll probably see them order that many of their current scripts for the 2013-2014 season to pilot. Those pilots will be tested. What tests well we'll see next year. For every new show they want to introduce, an old show will go. (NOTE: CW does have open spots right now on the network this season, counting TCD and Cult, it's Fridays after Nikita. BUT CW doesn't have the budget that a lot of other networks have, so whether they could afford a full schedule right now...who knows) This is what the schedule looks like, only factoring in TVD, Arrow, SPN, and Nikita (in their current timeslots). I'm putting in Nikita because it will reach 88 episodes if it's renewed for a Season 4, this is the magic number for syndication. Syndication makes an unprofitable show profitable, and Nikita has great international numbers. Pretty much everyone thinks CW will renew Nikita, barring something strange happening. (ANTM is also being renewed but Pedowitz has said that will air in the Summer, so we don't need to worry about that show in terms of BATB renewal) MONDAY: 8pm - OPEN 9pm - OPEN TUESDAY: 8pm - OPEN 9pm - OPEN WEDNESDAY: 8pm - Arrow 9pm - Supernatural THURSDAY: 8pm - The Vampire Diaries 9pm - OPEN FRIDAY: 8pm - Nikita 9pm - OPEN So that means we're contending for one of 6 open spots next year. We may want to look at it as 5 open slots, since CW generally likes to have a timeslot open to air repeats of shows. We're going up against... *1* 90210 (which Pedowitz has said he'd give a conclusion too, so if nothing is announced by March saying this is it for the show, well, expect it back next year for at least 13 episodes). *2* Hart of Dixie, Season 2 - HOD is performing well in a tough timeslot and is what they call a "self-starter," which basically means it has a dedicated fanbase that tunes in no matter what. They have numbers that are only slightly lower than ours right now. However, if they are renewed for a Season 3, that means it's a renewal for Season 4 as well for syndication (like Nikita was last year). So the CW may consider replacing HOD with something stronger...who knows. HOD is very cheap to produce though, cheaper than BATB. It hasn't sold as well internationally though. *3* The Carrie Diaries *4* Cult *5* The Originals - TVD spin-off *6* The Selection - the pilot is being re-done. Pedowitz really, really wants this show. *7* Amazon - if this has a good script, gets a good Diana, and comic book fans embrace it? Well, the CW wants another Smallville. They'll do a Wonderwoman version if they can, especially since it could pair well with Arrow. *8* Wildcard... there are tons of scripts being considered right now. Any of those could be ordered to pilot by the CW. Then if that pilot tests well, it could be ordered to series. To symplify it, we need approx. 2-3 shows from the current schedule on the CW to END this year in order to get our renewal -- 90210, HOD, Cult, or Carrie Diaries. So as much as you may want to like TCD or Cult, understand that if they do well, BATB is most likely going to be cancelled. Why? Because 90210 will probably get a shortened final season next year, sort of like GG received, AND because HOD is closer to syndication and cheaper to produce than BATB. So really, our best bet is that both mid-season shows flop and flop hard.

They're promoting the heck out The Carrie's Diaries for the past 2 weeks! BATB never got nowhere near that much promotion! Every other radio ad here has been the Carrie's Diaries... if this show fails, I'll be shocked to be completely honest!!!!

Plus, it's perfect timing w/the CW TCA w/literally the Press in one room w/the CW Prez to pimp the show w/the cast/crew yesterday to then write their reviews today. They were treated to 80s themed candies and music. Given advanced copies - the critics love it surprisingly. Exactly, there's tonnes of positive press which BATB were never afforded by who never gave us a chance. Plus, airing the same show 3 nights and hogging all the good times slots....we got none of that.

Every other radio ad here has been the Carrie's Diaries... if this show fails, I'll be shocked to be completely honest!!!! A lot of promotion doesn't mean audiences will like it; it just means it may have high numbers for its premiere. Well we'll just have to see what the ratings are like for the premiere and encores, and then compare those to Week 2 & 3 numbers. I feel that I've seen more interest in Cult than TCD from people talking online, though I've heard Cult's pilot is really terrible... I don't know. Viewing habits of Nielson people make no sense to me. They're promoting the heck out The Carrie's Diaries for the past 2 weeks! BATB never got nowhere near that much promotion! If they fall quickly to 0.5 or lower *AND* don't have the social media love that BATB gets *AND* don't have the international viewers...well, BATB could still kick TCD's butt.

I will say I watched my Facebook feed a bit and only saw 1 friend talking about TCD. (In her post, 2 other people said they either watched the pilot or DVR'ed it.) I saw more people talking about GG this season and it had terrible numbers (this season)...so....guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Yeah I'm finding it abit of a bugger that on the you tube cw channel batb seems to be promoted the least :/ Like there's been alot of nikita, carrie diaries videos which seems to be most promoted, followed by tvd, arrow, supernatural etc then batb seems to come last What's up with that?

i dont know but the show seems to not get a lot of love from the network but i think that is why the cast and crew love the fans so much... we have stuck with them even without promotion and we have tried to do it for the show!

I was very encouraged to read that blurb about the fans' passion. We have to stay loud! #RoarOnBeasties

You could possibly even start a petition for it. It doesn't hurt to ask, and if the station thinks their viewers want to watch the show, they'll contact CBS Studios International to get the show. Speaking of The Carrie Diaries, it premiered with terrible numbers. Most premieres break the 1.0 demo mark. Carrie Diaries got a 0.6 and 0.4. BATB *now* gets 0.6-0.7 on average. I guess we'll see how TCD continues to do but right now it looks like a certain cancellation.

if that happens, which i am sorry for the cast and crew, that means that we can have a higher possibility of getting picked for a new season so...

I think it's more complicated than that but I'll definitely write to our two main TV networks and ask them about BATB Their end of the deal is more complicated because it deals with money, but the only way they'll even consider adding BATB to their lineup is if they think their viewers have interest in it. So if no stations in your area have picked up BATB, it doesn't hurt to ask them to do so and to encourage others to do so as well.
