TBH when I heard they were going to the show, I kinda thought they had won. Most of the time the PCA's try to make sure the folks that win are either there at the show or have sent an acceptance video they can show. I think they kind of knew. the PCA people probably suggested they come or something because they saw the numbers. I mean the runner up was 10 million votes behind, that didn't happen just right before the show. BATB must have been the winner days before and our constant voting just made sure it stayed that way. so my guess is that behind the scenes (cw/BATB production company) there was some knowledge.

Is it true that "Revolution" was the runner-up that we beat by 10 million votes? A friend (who works in the industry) told me that they thought they heard "Revolution" came in 2nd for votes, but I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere. (I do know at least some of the cast of "Revolution" was at the show.)
Anyone know which show came in 2nd or where we can see all the final votes?

I saw the cast of Nashville interviewed on the red carpet and I saw both the Arrow leads, the girl who was his girlfriend and the lead, sorry I don't remember their names. And the lead of arrow tweeted that he was disappointed thursday night. (No congrats to BATB tweet though) So I don't know if they did know who won.
Austin tweeted that they thought they were close on Wednesday night (I guess because they were shutting down production for them to go) but that they didn't know until the PCAs so maybe they told the CW is was close and BATB should be there. Shrugs just a guess.
So wish we had seen their faces when they found out for sure that they won.

Most of the time the PCA's try to make sure the folks that win are either there at the show or have sent an acceptance video they can show. I had a really good PCA's this year...in addition to BATB, Leverage (which was just canceled by TNT after 5 seasons) won an award, as did Nathan Fillion, Castle and Jimmy Fallon...all of whom I voted for! Someone told me a few years back that PCA calls and tells the winners. This was to insure that they would attend the awards. I don't know if they still do this now.
I am thinking that maybe they saw it was close and send for Kristin and Jay. Only it was much too late to program them into the show. But this someone was telling me that the show likes to have the artist there for the fans.

Shrugs just a guess. So wish we had seen their faces when they found out for sure that they won. Well the male lead of Arrow presented an award. Not sure if the female lead did as well. That's kinda crummy that he said he was disappointed, but didn't congratulate BATB since they are on the same network!!! It's a common courtesy type thing and usually everyone in Hollywood kisses eachother's butts...at least in front of the public. Someone told me a few years back that PCA calls and tells the winners. This was to insure that they would attend the awards. I don't know if they still do this now.

~Milo Milo, I've received similar info and it's not just this award show. A lot of award shows notify the artists ahead of time, so they can have an acceptance speech ready to go even if the artist can't make it. On that note, I think it's great that BATB won. I mean - WTF - the People's Choice Awards had CW's TVD, Supernatural, and Arrow cast there! But BATB wouldn't have been there if the fans hadn't voted so much and pushed for them to be there. That's right. BATB fans rock.
One last thing, I've seen a lot of people putting this award down online and a lot of Beasties arguing with these trolls. Haters will be haters no matter what. If anyone on this site is engaging with them, it's not going to do any good. You're just wasting your energy on these people. While I understand the urge to argue with these people who say bad stuff about the show, it doesn't help our chances with renewal AT ALL. Listen, these people are rude, but they are enjoying that they can get you upset. They don't have a life. They are online bullies; don't give them the satisfaction. This award does help the show because it is good publicity for the show. It's also another example of how devoted the fanbase for the show is, especially since international voters participated. Viewers in countries where the show hasn't even started airing!! That's how in love with this show people are. This will all be discussed when the CW debates whether or not to renew the show. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Nielson numbers are important. That's true. BUT the CW does look at international numbers and BATB has them. We need to keep up the momentum! This is our time to convince the CW that our fanbase is growing and will continue to grow. Oh and if those people annoy you because they say we're all a bunch of loser teenage girls, don't go "I'm not a teenager" or "I'm not a girl" -- even if it's true. These people don't care. They are just looking to pick a fight. I saw how they were telling people to do their H.S. homework on one website and believe me I wanted to post something about how I am a graduate of law school, an entertainment lawyer, and that I actually work in the industry and with people working in the television industry and that it is hilarious that these people think they know anything because they watch TV and follow Nielson ratings. Let them try to say I sound like a teenager. Fine. If I sound like a teenager or teenybopper it must be working out for me since I'm on track to be able to retire way before retirement age. I must be doing something right! At the end of the day, Beasties have more class than these people. And you can't teach a person manners on the internet. We are a devoted fanbase. We helped our show win an award. We set our mind to winning the PCA and did; there's no reason why we can't set our minds to convincing the CW to give BATB a season 2 and succeed there as well. All these haters who are saying BATB is going to be cancelled said Hart of Dixie wouldn't be renewed last year, and it was. Why? Cost. BATB doesn't have as high a production cost as TSC did last year. The CW execs are happier with the BATB cast than they were with TSC cast. AND BATB is so far (in the limited areas it is actually showing on TV) doing better overseas than TSC did. So let these people compare BATB to The Secret Circle, but there are several differences. Nikita has been renewed because of international numbers. If international fans, a lot of which are on this forum, continue to support BATB, the chance for a second season are good. In closing, let's continue to rejoice in the PCA win, watch BATB, tell everyone else about BATB, sign & promote the petition, and lets focus our attentions on what we can do next to convince the CW to keep this show. On that note, expect an update soon about the fan campaign. I'm just checking the address to send books and all that. As soon as I'm sure we're all good, I'll share the website with all the info for the fan campaign here first!

I agree about arguing with the haters. It's akin to banging your head against the wall. If they hate the show enough to be trashing it, nothing we say to them is gonna change their minds. I always say to each his own...they probably like shows I can't stand so in the end it evens out. I do understand the instinct to defend the show, the characters and the actors, but I think the quality of all three speaks for itself. And of course, this fandom's amazingness goes without saying. Not sure if this has been posted in this thread or not. I've seen so many posted here...anyway, this is from the CW's BATB Youtube page. I think leaving a few positive comments is in order.

honestly, i dont read any hate mail, i just think that it is better to ignore them because of two reasons one is that they only want to distract us from doing what we are doing for our beloved series and to get attention to their own preferred series and second i think that ignoring them will cause them to get tired f hatting on people who ignore them and they will stop bothering us!

Yes, Fire and Ice, I believe it good that a lot of the artist that win are at the award show especially the PCA.
But what other award show tell the winners ahead of time? The Golden Globes, The Oscars, The Emmys don't. The Grammys awards a bunch of artist earlier in the week or the day I believe but they don't tell them in advance. It's just a separate ceremony off camera.
************************************************
As I have said in another thread, reading and responding to negative and nasty site about this show is wasted energy. I don't even know where they are and I don't want to know.

It's not the big ones (though often there is speculation that's usually accurate as to who actually is going to win for the larger awards). Keep in mind that doesn't mean the person finds out way early, but if they can't make it, the shows will often send crew down there to tape the person receiving the award and then just show the acceptance speech during the broadcast. Or the show will stress that it's important that they show up (or have a rep show up) because they won something... I guess if they are nominated for more than one thing, they still don't know what they won.

Jacki - I forgot about the MTV Awards. Yes. They probably do let the winners know. Even though that has become a huge award show.
Oh, we got to look for this award by the way and the Teen Awards too. I am sure that BATB will be nominated in one of these.
