Yes, there are a lot of examples of characters NOT saying how they really felt in Season 2, and this lead to a lot of mis-conceptions. I agree with a lot of what you say alwayscrazedbabtfan, one thing I will always believe is that Vincent and Cat never stopped being in love with each other and that is why the anger, betrayal and heart-break kept them apart for all those episodes. They had to heal before they could re-connect. I agree with you that it began during the Precinct siege, when Vincent realised Cat had turned the lights off to protect him from being exposed and Cat realised Vincent hadn't left with the gem but came forward to save her, Tess and the other hostages. It's the first time Gabe (whose not stupid) realises he has something to worry about and starts to get all jealous and possessive over Cat. It annoys him that Vincent went in to save her while he stood on the sidelines, as usual. A couple of points brought up in this discussion - Tori was NOT the only beast Vincent met that he wanted to protect and not kill. He tried to help Jacob Sutter, the first beast made by Sam Landon and who was eventually killed by Cat and he did save Xavier (the second Sam Landon beast who had the explosives strapped to him). He also tried to reason with Zach, his old army buddy, before he realised Zach was too far gone and was going to try to kill Cat, so he had no choice but to take him out. In fact, the only beasts Vincent has tried to Kill were the ones Reynolds set him onto and, as we know, Vincent had been brainwashed and indoctrinated to follow orders. Oh and supercharged Liam, of course. One other thing - Although I am no lover of Tori, on her death bed she did at least TRY to atone for coming between Cat and Vincent by telling Vincent he belonged with Cat. Gabe would NEVER EVER have done the same, so I find it hard to really hate her although I do hate the effect she had on the plot. Gabe was definately the more selfish and manipulative. Tori was just lonely and sad. She lost her mum and dad and due to her dad being so over-protective, she had no friends and no life so she clung to Vincent as the only person who had anything in common with her. It must have been heart-braking to know that even though he was with her, he really wanted to be with Cat, so you really have to feel a little sorry for her, especially taking into consideration how she died. Being alone doesn't give you the right to interfere into other relationship so I will hate her forever. At least Gabe had the decency of waiting to propose Cat before VinCat broken up.

I felt sorry for Tori as well. Frankly, I didn't think Vincent was particularly nice to her. The Alex arc was more heartbreaking for me, mostly because how Vincent was acting.

I was watching some S2 the other day and I have this question. When Vincent was a fugitive, why couldn't VinCat rendezvous in her apartment? I get that meeting on the roof was their thing but not even once? I'm thinking of the time he is chased off because of a helicopter. A romantic, intimate scene could have been added in there somewhere. 😝

I do think Tori's beast side affected Vincent. Tori was very needy and didn't have any control over her beast side. She had little to no experience with the opposite sex. Vincent himself said she affected him way back to when he ripped Windsor's heart out. Tori was wrong to kiss V but he could have done more to stop it. His, "I can't" was weak, at best. Catherine shooting V set them back more than Tori, imho.

Plus she had no right to act like she and V was the fairy tale and Cat was the footnote in the story.

You know that is my problem with Tori basically that she thought she had a relationship with V about which she was insucure. But it wasn't like V ever told her that they had any serious one. Why would you tell about your "connection" when the guy didn't promise you anything. That's why I hate her when she clearly knew V was in a relationship with Cat but she had she would get what she wanted. Brat.

I understand your point of view, however, I blamed it on her youth and inexperience. She's like a teenager. I still sympathized with her about her situation. I like how she protected Cat at the antique shop by shutting the door. I really didn't expect that. With Tori, I didn't like how Vincent was acting to Cat, but it didn't bother me too much because I didn't feel his heart was involved. But Alex was another story because she was the ex and he still had feelings for her. It was so hard to watch Vincent break Cat's heart over and over. I really hated how he didn't care about her welfare after her accident once Alex came on the scene. It just got worse from there. Cat forgave him way too quickly.

Some favorite moments from S4:
Beast Interrupted: 1. The exchanges between Vincent and Cat in Bootsy's hospital room ("Do you 2 know each other?" Cat: No V: We're married.) 2. Outside of Bootsy's hospital room Cat tells V she has no defense when he is so charming. It was cute.
Down for the Count: 1. Vincent cheering on Cat 2. V has to go back to work at the hospital so he says he will tell the paramedic to come back over to finish stitching Cat up. She teases that the paramedic is cute. V reminds her she is married.
It's a Wonderful Beast: 1. The return of Evan 2. Most of the episode
Love is a Battlefield: 1. When Vincent tells JT over the phone how crazy he is without Cat 2. The conversation between VinCat when he pulls her in the tent at the party, particularly the "I don't do so well without you."
Au Revoir: 1. Learning Cat is a lawyer 2. Holding hands as they drive off the bridge 3. Vincent waiting for Cat to catch up as they run after the mugger in Paris
