alwayscrazedbatbfan .........Thanks for finishing the rest of the episode recap! Wow...........I honestly don't know how I feel................ I am going to be honest...........The ending was a disappointment for me! I wanted it to be just Vincent and Catherine........together, and dammit........I wanted a future and a baby. There I said it!! WHY............why would Vincent and Catherine go after a purse stealer and RISK EXPOSURE AGAIN! ARGHHHHHHHHHH! This is my reaction........based on some hopes .........which I tried not to have. But, I can't help but feel let down. I just feel the whole VinCat ESSENCE fell FLAT as a pancake. It was too full of cheese. Like they wrote it in an hour and tied it in a bow with all the kisses and hugs and then "that's all folks". Suzieq ❤️ Beastie, now you know our VinCat must stay true to who they are thus the faking their deaths. They have to save others and make the greater sacrifice no matter the cost! Love these characters!!!

BUT at least you know VinCat is happy together, really living their lives happily in Paris, and Vincent finally LEARNED to speak French well enough to survive!!! And everyone happy and living with their significant other. But NOT losing out on being with one another.
And VinCat really living their lives, BUT being UNABLE to stop themselves from trying to help someone in distress, just because they can!!!!
You never see Vincent beast out in this episode, or the last one either. I guess they couldn't afford it. But you don't really need that after all except that the show IS Beauty and the "beast."
But I like the various speeches in the episode. THERE WAS SO MUCH said that OBVIOUSLY was meant for the FANS. Distracting, yes. But unlike 412, I was TOTALLY ONBOARD with nostalgia on the final episode.
Again, wish there was enough time to give us some real scenes in the life of VinCat. But it was a great wrap-up of the storylines, a showing of HOW MUCH these characters LOVE one another and WILL remain close no matter the difference. WHICH AGAIN is a wonderful NOD to Beasties.
So nice Tribute episode. And even if we can't see it, we KNOW that VINCAT are happy and still SO IN LOVE. So I'll take it!!!!
WHAT DOES EVERYONE ELSE THINK??? CAN'T WAIT TO READ THE COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I LOVE SO MUCH BEING THE FIRST to actually SEE THIS EPISODE instead of the last. IN YOUR FACE CANADIANS (just KIDDING, of course!!!) But they HAVE had the TRULY WONDERFUL fortune to have gotten the episodes DAYS before us previously!

It is who they are..............who they always were but now together..........forever. I just wanted it to be the two of them........I liked the reunion........I just wanted to see their BLISS for more than a minute!! AND.............I SWEAR...........when Cat kept saying she had to PEE!!!..........I thought,........OMG!! CATHERINE'S PREGNANT!! I guess that is why I had my hopes soar! Cause pregnant women have to pee so much............why did she say that........what did I miss? I wanted a VinCat Baby! I really did!!

Season 4 Suzie, AMEN as to your comments!!!
I would have LOVED a fastforward to 5 years in the future, with Vincent showing up to pick-up Cat from having just won some important Victim's Rights case. And he would be holding their young daughter in his hands, who would have the cutest little piggy-tails. And you would have a wonderful Family Scene where they go have a picnic in the park, and while watching their little daughter play, Vincent and Catherine talk about how much they loved making their daughter and want to make another one! And they smooch, while the camera pans to the daughter whose eyes GLOW while watching something. So you realize that she has "the beast genes" even though VINCAT don't know this yet!!! And have it end there!
But you SEE how the emphasis has been on the Fab 5 as a whole more than VinCat, so I am not surprised. I would have been happy though with ONE true VinCat scene.
Sigh. But was still lovely to IMAGINE VinCat's FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 months FASTFORWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CAT IS "ISABELLE" and SHE JUST BECAME A LAWYER!!!!!!!!! PASSED HER TEST AND EVERYTHING IN PARIS. VINCENT HAS CARRIAGE OUTSIDE WAITING FOR HER AND NOW SPEAKS FRENCH!!!!!!!!!!!!! alwayscrazedbatbfan , wasn't it a little unfulfilling to not be told what Vincent's new career was along with the opened issues now never to be resolved. It feels a bit melancholy!!! Yikes I hate feeling this way.

BUT I did hate that the BATB finale so much resembled the Castle one, in that you see Castle and Beckett holding hands in danger. Then see a brief flashforward. AT LEAST Castle got the HAPPY FAMILY SCENE that I wanted.
But Castle was filmed MUCH later than BATB, so the coincidences were unintentional.

Well I'm shocked, maybe people would say that I'm crazy but I love so much these characters that I feel like someone from my family has gone so far that I won´t see again. I like the episode, but of course I'd like we would have got more of them in the future. I'd like to see them together but older remembering what they had gone thru and confirming us that they really were happy forever. Maybe too much for an hour episode and maybe better in this way as they don't close the chance of more BATB in the future even how difficult it could be. Sorry friends I'm too sad for giving more comments I don't like finales at all!

There really IS potential for a BATB movie that would take place in the future. And it COULD be right up the CW's alley, quite frankly.
You really COULD have someone show up to kidnap VinCat's child. After all, the beast formula is still out there. And with VinCat gone from the US, no one is looking into Muirfield. Supposedly, the Prince never knew what Braxton was going to do with his bodyguards. BUT the Prince WOULD know that Braxton had done this in the past. So you have that guy or someone else that works with the Prince secretly start the projects back up. AND realize that VinCat's NATURAL-BORN beast would be the way to perfect the formula.
And you could see how maybe the child has some sort of SPECIAL beast powers. So multiple people end up finding out and seeking out this child, depending on what those powers are. And VinCat would be MOTIVATED to work with one agency over the others if they are given potential protection, etc. and a chance to return to the US. Especially because Paris would no longer be safe for them, maybe because real terrorists had sought them out AFTER seeing VinCat's little girl save people from a terrorist attack due to her abilities.
So there would be SO much potential to a fast-forward movie for sometime in the future. Especially if the little-girl somehow could "see" a potential future of some people that she interacts with. We all KNOW how the CW gets behind super powers!

The Series Finale. Seems like a long journey, Beasties. We fought like demons in Season 2 to extend the life of this series as long as it needed, perhaps a little too long. All based on the power of Jenn & Sherri's original vision.
I've never been so struck by a TV show in its first season (unless, perhaps, it was Fringe). It still tugs at my heart when I think of the sense of "longing" Season One had for them to be together, and in the future when I re-watch, it will be only Season One and the first few episodes of Season Two. I'm quite sure Jenn & Sherri would have created a better Season Two. I understand for longevity the series must continually draw the couple together, and then pull them apart. And I don't know, myself, where the series would have gone next, but if Season Two Vincent had recovered his memories before losing Catherine to Gabe, there was still hope for Sherri & Jenn's original romantic concept.
But it was not to be. Lesser talents (!) took the helm and the story became, well, murky. C'est la vie.
The last two seasons became 90% the characters standing around in a scene performing exposition. But in this last episode I did nearly lose it when Cat and Tess (sort of) said goodbye. KK has always been so fantastic at those emotional scenes.
Very cool action sequence of the rescue of the Prince and the exploding car goes off the bridge. (Never considered for a moment that they were really dead)
It is not clear why they needed to escape their NY lives. There would have been some way for Tess to convince DHS that Braxton was responsible, backed up by the Prince's testimony. Although there is a little satisfaction in the idea that they have transferred their lives to France and continue on as sort-of superheroes, I had hoped for a little more.
I anticipated (hoped) that at the end Vincent would be not only exonerated but "cured", and he and Cat would get their normal lives back. With Braxton gone they would be free to resume normal lives and raise a "normal" family. If no one was left with knowledge of beasts but the Fab Four (five?), then former-beast Vincent could return to the life of a doctor and Cat could become a cop again - unless bringing non-beast children into the family.
Early on the series was fueled by that longing created by their separation, as so much stood in the way of this couple being together. It was even stronger in the original, Ron Koslow, series, because you really couldn't think about Vincent and Catherine making love. Here, fortunately, you could, even though Vincent was not exactly "human". But the final longing would be to see them raise children. I realize Cat could not simply raise children; her life would always be adventurous. But perhaps she could be a crusading lawyer while Vincent could happily be a doctor (who is not pursued by anyone!)
There have been two ways of curing beasts. Just before the end of Season One Vincent was cured by JT's serium. Then, of course, Cat cured Gabe by reviving him with electro-shock. How hard would it have been to have Vincent restored to fully human at the end? I anticipated a last minute desperate Cat restoring Vincent's heart beat (as she had done for Gabe) with the defibrillator, and finding that what was left was just - Dr. Keller.
But, with this ending they have transferred their lives (and friends) to Paris, for reasons unclear, and will continue on pretty much as with the last two seasons. All I can say is at least it was not a tragic ending, and that's appreciated. (With these writers - who knows?)
It was a long road with unpleasant side-trips, but they made it - as we all knew they would.
The best to you all, Beasties. It has been an honor keeping the vigil with such as you.

I mean if you are going to fast forward do it knowing everything has worked out and they are totally free. I liked the 1 year anniversary.....and the carriage ride. But really, does one really become a lawyer in France in 6 months?? Does anyone know? Catherine is smart but was she in law school when her Mom died?

I agree with you as well. I wouldn't have minded that scenario too! I just feel like the ending needed to be more Vincent and Catherine! This is their story and their struggle and their future. We could have seen glimpses of JT and Tess living together and Heather and Kyle making dinner. Then the final MINUTES would be VinCat making a new life. Could be bittersweet and not so much exposition of "living in sin" with JTNT and Kylther (? Kyle & Heather?) I STILL wanted a VinCat BABY!!!!!!!!!

Not going to complain, trying not to bc I'm devastated that the show is over. But I expected more for the finale. Overall it was a great episode, but there was something missing.
Absolutely we should've had more of a rooftop scene. I wanted to see DHS formally clear VinCat and I really wanted Cat to announce she was pregnant instead of VinCat running out (although i loved the hand holding). I wish some of the other storylines were wrapped from season 1. It just didn't feel like a strong finale imo.
Oh and to me now that we know Kyle was just a prop and really only heathers bf this season, I think they wasted way too much time with him.
Also what was with them coming out of the restaurant? Were they only there to get the princes chauffeur?
Okay and seriously their kisses? Wth
On a better note, Austin was amazing, kudos and the music was great.
