I enjoyed the episode even though the second half of the episode was a little weak from a storyline standpoint. Still do not have a clue or hint who is trying to kill everyone. I mean we have had 5 episodes and we don't have any info. Could be a Beast Bountyhunter or someone else? At this point I think they need to give the viewer some "meat" to this story. I liked all the nuances of early Vincent and Catherine.......Evan and Reynolds were great.........JT and Tess were cute.......Throwback Tess and Cat..........lots of nostalgia but it would of been nice for some insight on the Baddies or some slight reveal. I am afraid it will all be done in the next to the last episode and then that's it. They seem to be following the same formula as used with S3. I don't think we'll know who the real big bad is for a few more episodes. That will then probably take us into the final arc. Hello my dear Beast and Beastie. I have a theory on who just may be at least one of the baddies! Should I share here or privately?

If it's related to this episode and/or previous episodes, sure why not share your idea here? I've already speculated in the last episode (404) thread that it might be Dept. Secretary Hill. But that's just a guess. For general speculations on where S4 is headed, I might suggest the following thread: saveeachotherbatb.com/thread/912/season-4-spoilers-speculations?page=46

And BeastieBoy you are on the right track.

And BeastieBoy you are on the right track. Since the CW's previews for 403, and even worse 404, gave away big spoilers, I've now made a new personal rule to not watch the CW's previews. Which I started by not watching the preview for this 405 ep when it aired right after 404. I'm trying to be spoiler free, but it's hard to avoid some of the pics that are all over twitter. So while I have seen some of the promo pics, I haven't seen the CW's preview for 406. Don't say more please ...shhh

Oh, oh, mea culpa. Sorry, BeastieBoy - I will keep my big mouth shut - or better yet, only post in the spoiler section.

Oh, oh, mea culpa. Sorry, BeastieBoy - I will keep my big mouth shut - or better yet, only post in the spoiler section. No worries. It's not easy trying to be spoiler free and I'm not always good at keeping to my own rules. LOL. But I realized that 404's promo actually made me misunderstand what was really happening, since I knew from the promo who the bad guy was. So now I'm trying even harder to be spoiler free. Need to borrow Ean's hilarious gif.

I hope for a revelation of the bad guy. In the last episode we realized it could be two. I don't like the strangeness of this episode. It's interesting the connection to the first season and to old characters. But I prefer much more the present life of VinCat! Those flashbacks inspire a sense of melancholy! I want a backfire for JT and Tess. When will it happen? They are very sweet, especially how JT dissolve Tess' tension.

Yes, alwayscrazedbatbfan I loved how this episode gave the twist to "It's a Wonderful Life". Vincent sees not how the world would have been without him, but how he would have been without Catherine, and vice versa. Invoking the ghost of Evan reminded Vincent that his love might mean taking a bullet for Catherine. That's the beauty of love---you believe the BEST about the person you loved. And it NEVER was that easy in the past. It took TIME for Cat to trust Vincent... As Catherine said, they healed each other...

Seems like Max had fun on set with the old gang.

I am already eagerly anticipating the gag reel on this one!
Thought of one other thing that hadn't commented on yet---they actually made the DARK and poor lighting WORK intentionally in this episode! The blue/dark tint to the "dream" world was excellently done. BEAUTIFUL contrast that was, for once, meant to convey something. Just gave it that sinister/otherworldly feel to it. BUT by filming this way, Jay's (and KK's) looks and scenes came across SO MUCH more powerfully, in my opinion, by shooting it this way. Excellent choices all around by the director on this one!
My only complaint was that it felt like it ended entirely too soon. I loved every minute of it, especially Cat's love and desperation that was coming off KK in spades in the "real" world, while she convincingly portrayed a woman that never met Vincent in his "dream." But LOVE LOVE how she comes around AND is the catalyst to Vincent's actually grasping ahold of reality and reasoning things through--he simply couldn't do this UNTIL Cat was with him. Just loved that.
