1x12 ep recap
For suzie....Heather, Cat and Tess have a nice chat (and alcohol lol) about Vincent (without using his name).
The things I liveblogged will be
bolded.
He understands me like no one else.
-Catherine She's trying to tell the girls that he has like more than PTSD and he has a temper. Tess thinks he's abusive, and Cat says no, he's sweet, and says that line above. But she says she's going cold turkey, done.
At her apartment, she's watching a movie that Heather finds scary.
THE FLANNEL PAJAMAS!!!!She had on a cute red flannel shirt like Lana cleaning the Talon apartment and I hoped it was the flannel PJ's from Vincent.
One can dream.
Alex knocks on the door and I guess Heather goes back to her room. Alex is asking permission from Vincent's "HANDLER" to take him away to a secluded cabin.
STOP with the handler talk for real!!The convo is hard to remember b/c it was so tense and so awkward for Cat. She tried to put on a brave face and she told Alex that she should ask Vincent about this stuff from now on.
How awkward was that Alex/Cat convo?Cat's jogging -preview scene- Vincent comes up to apologize for Alex asking to go away from him. Cat is like, so you're going? He says he and Alex have a lot to talk about.
Alex and Vincent have stuff to talk about? Coffee shop? Phone?
secluded cabin??^ As in WHY a secluded cabin.
Cat insists that he needs to tell her about himself b/c it's not safe and they argue. You can tell Vincent is offended that Cat seems to keep bringing up the Beast. He actually goes so far as to say something like he wanted to know what she (Cat) thought.
Vincent seems to see Cat as a BFF. Even if he's not romantically "with her", he needs her in his life and he needs her input. It matters so much to him what she thinks.
I think this will be a good quality in their relationship later on.He clearly values her input, but he's pretty oblivious or insensitive to what his words do to Catherine. She's hurt and is like, basically, fine, do whatever you want.
The case of the week is not really a case with a guest star: it's just the narcotics investigation into Alex, so Tess and Cat have some phone calls about that. JT and Cat talk, everyone talks, blah blah and they realize that Vincent's DNA might be on the dead body from when he killed that dude to protect Alex at the hospital. And that Vincent's DNA might be on the drugs Alex has been stealing for the clinic? Something like that.
Cat goes to Alex's apartment to clean up the evidence to protect Vincent....WHILE HE'S GOING WITH ALEX TO A SECLUDED CABIN.
I understand what Cat was doing, but I was like wow, she's going so far for him and I wrote:
Cat what are you doing?
What, Cat?Vincent and Alex driving to the cabin. Alex is remembering good times and keeps on talking about how they're running away. Alex mentions asking Cat for permission for something.
Vincent, if you call Catherine your handler again, I'm calling Muirfield myself.Tess and Cat have a scene that is kind of forgettable except:
Love when @mskristinkreuk's hair is pulled back and we can see her lovely face So anyway back in the car with Vincent and Alex, oh excuse me VINCE...they apparently have a thing with strawberry milkshakes blah blah and then Vincent's like, "watch the road!" and Alex swerves. haha, so carefree....
So Alex isn't just a reckless person, she's actually going to have a wreck as well.
Nice driving LOLCat found a bug in Alex's apartment. She goes to warn JT, who tells her to go after Vincent. She says she hopes that Alex and Vincent have their clothes on when she gets there. JT has a funny line after Cat says she was trying to take the high road (about Vincent):
"How about taking the Long Island Expressway, exit 91?"
-JTAlex and Vincent arrive at the cabin and it's feeling all shades of wrong.
@batbwriters Painful that Vincent x Alex are away at a cabin when Vincat didn't get to go camping
I guess Vincat will get their turn.Alex pushes her agenda- run away, leave- new life, run away, we're leaving, we're going, etc. etc. Vincent's like okay, okay, but I gotta tell you something.
So...Vincent really IS planning to run away with Alex IF she accepts Beast? Wow.I didn't realize Vincent was actually all prepared to just high tail it out of there. They talked about Mexico or something.
He's trying to explain the military experiments gone bad, but she's not really understanding that it's more than PTSD. She does know he's "wanted" though, but that's why she thinks them running away is perfect.
Someone knocks on the door with "car trouble". Vincent can tell he's anxious/sweating/lying.
Not a good idea to lie to Vincent, obvious Muirfield dude.Vincent goes with the guy and tells Alex to stay put.
While Cat ignores her broken heart to go help Vincent because now they know Muirfield is onto them b/c Alex's apartment was bugged, JT is doing damage control, trying to get Evan to NOT present about the cross-species DNA (Vincent's).
Uh-oh, Evan's not backing down.Evan basically tells JT to eff off.
Cat arrives at the cabin and Alex is tying off a silky robe............ Cat is urgently looking for Vincent. Alex said he's helping a guy with car trouble, and Cat is now very worried. The two exchange heated words...not really at each other, but Alex is frustrated with not knowing what's going on and Cat says Vincent needs to tell her. Cat is like, I have to go find him now and Alex wants to come. Cat says no, there is a reason he told you to stay here...to be safe. It was intense and uncomfortable. Oh, also Alex wanted to know if something was going on between them.
I'm kind of speechless after that intense Alex/Cat convo...
Alex is getting impatient.
And Cat is really putting herself out there for a guy who broke her heart.Vincent is riding in his/Alex's (whoever's) car, taking that guy to his "broken down truck", but he pulls over, jerks the guy out of the car and demands to know who put him up to this. The guy admits 3 bounty hunters paid him to lure Vincent to the "broken down truck".
3 Muirfield agents -__-Vincent tells him they aren't bounty hunters and they don't like witnesses so he better start running. The guy flees.
JT basically blackmails Evan, saying he realized that Evan lost a patient...a girl, back in England and left like 6 weeks later.
Evan lost a patient and that's why he left England. Whoa.
Evan broke up with JT!Vincent and Catherine meet up in the woods. He's like what are you doing here? She's obviously there to protect and help him. Vincent says there are 3 men out there.
Night vision! They have an intense conversation about the way Cat sees him. He says why does she have to bring up the beast every time they talk? In the park, at the wedding.
She says she just found out he was mutating. He said he wasn't mutating, his DNA was.
Ohhh, Vincent is still hurt from the wedding.
Does he seriously think Catherine sees him as a mutant? She says that she didn't mean it that way.
"It's not a bad thing when someone knows the darkest parts of you."^ Catherine
Cat says that his issues are HIS problem and not a problem he has with her (more or less).
Then the agents are there and it's on.
Shots fired!Vincent, I hate to break it to you, but Catherine is the one who sees who you really are. You're just running away from yourself. There's basically this huge firefight and beasting out, growling, fighting, a grenade or something that knocks Cat back. Vincent snaps the guy's neck who is hovering over Cat.
Cat goes through so much for Vincent!"I'm glad you're here."
-Vincent Well of course he's glad she's there, she saved his butt.
Alex has seen everything and she is FREAKED. She is like totally thinking Vincent is a dangerous murderer and she points one of Cat's weapons at him. Cat had given her a weapon for safety back at the cabin.
Vincent is kind of pitiful trying to tell Alex that it's okay, he wouldn't hurt her. Cat, being the total amazing badass that she is, gets Alex to lower the gun, then touches Vincent's arm as she WALKS OFF TO LET THEM TALK IT OUT.
Alex says they can't leave together and basically freaks and dumps him. Boo hoo.
I actually really thought Alex would accept him...
“Is it permanent?” ^ Alex said.
Reality is a b...east , right, Vincent?
“I got caught up in the fantasy.”^ Vincent said.
So that's over. Now Cat really seems like a back-up plan.....
Cat obviously saw Alex rejecting and hurting Vincent and you know it had to hurt Cat on Vincent's behalf no matter what he'd done to her.
So sad that Cat had to watch Vincent get hurt while she was already so hurt. Our heroine can't win lately.I was very very very very very very sad for Cat.
Cat goes home and Heather is there asking what happened.
"What happened is he needed me."
-Catherine Heather's like for real? And Cat says no, in a life or death type of way. Heather says it's hard to go cold turkey and maybe she should follow her heart no matter what.
Vincent is talking to JT at the warehouse and JT's basically telling him how he saved his butt with Evan, while Cat literally came and helped save his rear. JT says that Cat took his DNA out of Alex's apartment b/c the cops have a warrant to search it or something.
"I am such an ass."
-Vincent Keller^ That was a running theme. Like almost every character called Vincent an ass in this ep, and then Vincent realizes it and admits it at the end. LOL
We find out that Evan pays off the dead girl's family to keep it quiet. JT is just trying to convince Evan that a secret agency is onto them and it's dangerous. Evan believes him b/c bugs are in his lab and his last sample was contaminated.
A bug in Evan's office!
At least the presentation on Vincent’s DNA is cancelled. Vincent comes to Cat's window, but instead of being excited, I'm like, boy, get the frick off her fire escape.
"I keep trying to move on, but it's kind of difficult with you." -Catherine
“I don’t want you to.” -Vincent"I can't be your second choice."
-Catherine Basically Cat is so awesome as usual, and says that she is his second choice b/c he wanted to leave with Alex, and if Alex would have accepted him, he would have left with her.
Vincent came to say thank you for her help, and he doesn't want her to feel she is second choice and he'll do whatever it takes or something like that, I don't know, I couldn't really hear anything b/c my BS-o-meter was going off
Cat says she has to go.
"I need to be there for someone who's always there for me."
-Catherine Tess had been calling all night, said Heather. Joe problems, apparently.
Vincent says he's not going anywhere.
Just OD'd on adorableness from Cat, Heather and Tess singing karaoke! The girls sing, "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart" and yes it's so amazing that Cat was there for Tess after her heart just got put in the garbage disposal and shredded fifty times over.
There you go.
