This episode lived up to my expectations!! It was everything BatB was meant to be. The performances were great. There wasn't a weak link in the bunch. Top marks go to Kristin, Jay & Ted. All gave powerful, believable & heart wrenching performances. It's sad that each character, by doing what they felt was right, ended up making a decision that had the potential to destroy not only their lives but also those of the ones they love.
I couldn't help but feel sorry for those that won't be watching this magnificent episode because they were so upset over the Vincent/Tori connection introduced last week! When something is revealed in stages or pieces, it is very easy to perceive it to be quite different than what it actually is.
I will be re-watching 208 at least twice this week as I'm sure than there are things I didn't pick up on tonight. During the hiatus, I'll be re-watching S02 so I can see the storyline build. Although I don't necessarily like everything I see, I do like this season. To me it shows that the writers has a clear outline of how they plan to tell their version of BatB. Just because we can't quite see the emerging pattern doesn't mean it's not there. This is soooo true. I think the key in watching Batb is have lots and lots of patience

LOL! I was drawn in, so you can say I liked it! I think I loved and disliked some parts it at the same time lol it was abit of a roller coaster!! From a vincat POV, it wasn't the best ending! It was sad to see that V actually looked like he was going to listen to Cat then suddenly the beast took over...And it didn't look like Tori had influence from it either :/ Well, she wasn't there but now I'm wondering whether the writers are trying to convey that Tori DOESNT have to BE there....Is it like when she tells him to do something (when her eyes light up.), he is compelled to? :/ From an action and acting POV, I have to say it's one of the best! I gotta give credit to that actor who plays cats dad! He does really well. I actually hope its not the last we see of him :/ just because I like seeing his acting on screen and seeing how he has acted in front of cat and gabe, yet being involved as the handler...like seeing the 2 different sides. That's one concept I found interesting in the show with the writers! I can't see there being a happy ending though that cats dad will see cats POV especially with what's happened with V now. KK and Jay in that last scene...I felt like I was in Cats shoes like 'Don't do it! Don't do it!' lol I was so close to saying it out loud, then at the same time thinking 'Oh no, his gonna do it, his gonna do it. I can't bare to watch cats face when it's over!' I thought cats dad would be gone for sure and then I was thinking how am I going to watch that kind of scene seeing Cats expression if Vincent did kill him...They won't go back Then with the Tori/Vincent scenes...got me cringy with a sour taste in my mouth. I know apparently writers have said there's going to be nothing romantic this episode but you can't help but be paranoid when they started with the kiss last episode (even though it may have not been a natural romantic one.)....why would the writers make them kiss in the first place, if they said it's not going to be a love triangle thing?? Then of course the Gabe/Cat scenes! I knew this would bring them closer! But now after what Vs done....darn writers have made me feel like she needs Gabe in her life!! Don't get me wrong, I don't think Gabe and Cat would match up to the chemistry vincat had in s1, but a part of me wants to see Vincent get jealous whilst seeing them. But then this also makes me miss Evan who I would prefer over Gabe. Not that I'd want them to go far at all. Now I'm wondering how vincat can get back together I have a feeling it'll involve Vincent saving Cat again (maybe from Tori.)! But I want it to be more than that :/ I mean just because Vincent saves her doesn't mean his redeemed, it DOES mean he has a good side to him BUT I think it needs to be shown that she's the key to his humanity and he will prove himself emotionally over time to prove that. And show that he is fighting for his humanity and wants to. JT should help him out as well!!

I don't know what to say… More than anything else, I guess I'm just tired. It's just the wrong choice of direction for the storyline for this point in the season. Nothing to hold out hope for, nothing to hold onto, nothing to look forward to. It's all kind of a big disappointment. I'm just not feeling it. I don't know why Vincent even deserves to live at this point. And Tori? Why doesn't somebody just kill her? She is so obviously a loose cannon. Hate is a strong word, but I pretty much hate everything about this choice of a storyline. It is like watching the ruins of the show, and I guess, I see how some might feel it is dramatic. I'm just sorry that they went there to begin with. It's just too much. The Tori character seems to have brought with her the beginning of what has left a very bad taste in my mouth. I can remember what it was that I loved about this show, I just don't see any of it anymore. Oh, well except JT and Tess in the morgue. They were pretty awesome. Just to be clear, I know this is a fan site, and I'm certainly not trying to diss the show, I'm just pointing out that I can't stand anything about this storyline. It feels so far past the point of no return, I just can't. But it is nice that there was no beast on beast sex. At least there is that. And Gabe, puny little man that he is, seems to have earned the privilege of giving Catherine a hug. Besides annoyed, I just wish I FELT something. I don't recognize Vincent, so how can I feel sorry for him? I don't know, I just can't. Where did my favorite show go? Is it still the same show? I feel nothing, literally. Catherine, by the way, God bless her, was all kinds of awesome. Kudos to KK. I can see that others are pleased though, so I will try to keep my apathy and overall disappointment out of this thread. I'm just posting my initial feelings. I won't rant and rave like last week. I'm feeling same way I'm waiting tomorrow to watch it again with subtitles to be sure i've lost nothing translating!

see i dont feel like that at all, i completely sympathise wth vincent and what he has and is continuing to go through for the reasons i mentioned above and in previous posts. I can sympathise with both cat and vincent and do not think at all he or their relationship is irreparable. in this episode i did not even see him choose tori, tori was just somebody who heightened his beastly senses. but he did not choose her - while cat calmed him down she fueled his anger. I don't know, for the things he has been through i thought he has handled himself well especially in this episode. and we do not even know if he would have ended up killing reynolds in that last scene. but i can completely understand how u are disappointed and cannot see a brighter future if u have these feelings about a main character, i iwould feel the same about the show as u, if i felt that about vincent. It may not be so much that he chooses Tori, as much as he sides with her… and he seems to make that choice, you can see him do it. I don't feel sorry for him in that moment when Catherine shoots him, he made his decision, and Tori wasn't even there, once again he chose to go into the darkness. How many times has he chosen that now? It is like an overdose, too too much. It felt like enough in 2x02 when he shoved Catherine. Like that should have been the wake up call… but now, half a season later, there he is, more or less right where he started, or worse, descending into darkness… Feels like a HUGE waste of time to me. We were trying to rebuild the love story like five episodes ago… Also, what happened to Catherine's special ability to calm his beast? Is that gone too? Is there anything left of the Vincent that we all knew and loved from Season 1? Anyway, I should show myself out, I don't want to rain on the parade. I can't say that I liked the episode just because there was no beast and she-beast sex. IMO early on this season, he was a programmed assassin, no feeling, just follow instructions. but when Cat found him, we saw his former human side came back, very slowly but surely, in bits and pieces. more like involuntarily and he was struggling with getting more to his human side. but THIS episode, it shows vincent actually chose to be a beast. he chose to just let it be, no more struggling. Obviously Tori's voice of reason is louder than Cat's. Hopefully now they'll show HOW they'll fall in love over again..

Oh wow! I was left speechless in a way that I couldn't bring myself to post anything.
Before commenting on this episode; guys! I have some questions:
- Wasn't this episode written by Brad Kern? "The Fearless Leader" as the director tweeted? Why was "John Norris" in the opening credits as the writer then?
- Do we know if Ted Whittal is going to be around? Or is he done with shooting the show?
- Do we know who has written/directed the next episode?

It seemed like a possibility given that together their powers are so supercharged… but then I guess that doesn't leave any drama for the next episode. If I could write the next episode, and this is just me making things up… Tori would somehow heal him, then of course at some point Catherine would show up, Tori would try to kill Catherine, Vincent would save Catherine, and get rid of Tori… the next episode would be more about saving Catherine. That is a storyline that I could get excited about. Okay she could supercharge his ability to heal if he had it to begin with. He doesn't have that anymore. So Tori can enhamce his already powers NOT ones he no longer has. that's what i was thinking too… can't believe we have to wait 6 weeks for the answer

Ok I just watched the episode! So many feels right now. My heart goes out to BOTH Catherine and Vincent. I loved the episode! Vincent is finally the beast he was meant to be in season 1! Now we're going to see how Catherine will ever fall in love with a Beast and Vincent has to fight hard between his Beast side and his humanity and WIN back Catherine's heart! KK and Jay and Ted!!!!Hats off to you for superb acting!!! KK why you cry? I just can't when this woman cries! Okay now for my best scene! The scene that had me crying my eyes out was when Catherine (crying her eyes out) was leaving her dad behind bars and he was screaming out 'I did it to safe your life! You can now have a life!' I know he doesn't have the right to be called her father, but in some twisted way he is protecting her. We all have parents and they all want us to end up with good people, not monsters! It was just very powerful and the music was just perfect! The scene with V in the boat house, tending to his wounds was just When Tori walked in and he looked up I felt like he was accusing her with his look. I know we can't blame her for what he did but I just got the vibe that he is telling her 'Look what you have made me do and become'! I loved the look on his face when Catherine shoots him! It was like a wake up call. It's like he now knows the extent of what he has become now that the woman who loves him shot him! And KK God bless her! That scene just before she pulled the trigger was I think Catherine shooting V would have been my fav scene had I not known it was coming. The only thing that just made me was when V called Catherine 'Cat'!!! WHY?!!!!!!!! I loved that ending! At first I was hoping we'd see V come to Catherine's rooftop but on second thought, I thought it was the best way to end this arc. Two people who were SO in love torn apart and have reached rock bottom, lost and so far apart from one another. The second arc will be about them finding each other again and falling in love! I just hope we don't get to see them make up during episode 9! I'm SO happy now because I feel like I'm finally watching a show about a BEAUTY who will meet and fall in love with a BEAST! Because let's be honest guys the V in season 1 was NO beast. He was a beautiful, kind soul! <Removed spoilers.>Okay I just re read my post and it's all over the place! Please forgive me but my brain is all a mush at the moment!!

I agree with you on all points..expect that Vincent knew Tori was to blame for his 'reaction' and for Catherine to shoot him.

We are in zinc with the feels! I agree with you on all points..expect that Vincent knew Tori was to blame for his 'reaction' and for Catherine to shoot him. Yeah but Tori wasn't there when Catherine was begging V not to kill her dad. Even without Tori, we see how strong his beast side has become
