Yes, I find the nephew not recognizing Vincent odd too. I mean, come on! Yes, he was 6 when he last saw him (right?), but hasn't he ever looked at family albums, photos, I don't know you name it! It's weird More than weird... it's a BIG PLOTHOLE! I don't buy it! We are not in 17th century where there were no photos! come on!!! But sometimes obvious things are in front of your eyes and you just don't notice it.

The only explanation I have for it is that, for some completely non canon reason, he stopped seeing his uncle for, like what, 20 years? Or maybe now, FDNY is accepting twelve year old teenagers in its corporation, who knows?
It really doesn't make any sense! That was really sloppy.

But sometimes obvious things are in front of your eyes and you just don't notice it. Also you have to remember that sometimes it takes a while for one to connect the dots. One cannot just go around alleging a person is his uncle simply because he looks like him. The boy has to be careful. Many people look alike and in his mind, his uncle is dead. I think it would be a plot hole, if Aaron got to spend time with Vincent and still didn't connect the dots but as it is, I didn't find it amiss. He had the normal reaction anyone would have. He just didn't connect this grown up Vincent to his dead Uncle. I am sure this will be clarified as the episodes go on.

Its not like he had gone anywhere. Gabe just didn't knock and wait to be admitted in. As for Catherine, I thought, she broke in. I might be wrong but I thought they were watching the boathouse with her colleagues, determined that Vincent wasn't there and then she broke in. She pretended to call out his name just in case he was there but I thought she knew he wasn't there.

And with Cat she was already in, maybe she picked it again but in that scene, Vincent himself just walked in without turning a key or anything. He must be keeping it unlocked.

A lot of my thoughts have been covered here, so this will be brief. I am surprized, that no one is talking about Gabe's connection to Reynolds? I mean at this point, it is completely obvious there is a connection. Reynolds said to Vincent, " Gabe covered for you at the hospital!" Secondly, I will be amused to see if the same people who were angered, to the point of outrage - will take the same stance on Catherine beating the crap out of three people! Why? .... because she was having a bad day??? I am not one for double standards, so that will bother me! LOL! On the plus side, loved seeing the old Vincent starting to come through ... just the way Vincent was talking to Catherine about her Father in the kitchen made me feel all warm and fuzzy!!!
