I too liked this episode. I didn't see it on it's first run.
I liked the fact that I saw Vincent play doctor. And JT was hecka funny. He is too much.
"So we are passing notes now like in high school."
Loved the ending with the scene on the fire escape.

I watched this episode again and started to dissect a few things. I loved the scene where Catherine asks Vincent if he has been following her. ;D I loved his expression and Catherine's reaction wasn't like " What? creeper" it was more like surprised and kinda liked the idea of knowing he was keeping tabs. Any scene with all three of them is just awesome. When Vincent took out his phone to call JT for medication and Catherine's like " you have a phone?", it's like finding out your best friends went to watch a movie without inviting you or something along those lines. Feeling left out. Which brings me to the favorite rain scene of their argument. I loved the scene because it showed a lot of how they felt at that moment, a lot of emotions. Catherine feeling left out, wanting a place in his life and having that trust between them. Vincent is trying to keep their connection at a minimum for their safety, he wants to help her but at the same time being mindful of his and JT's safety from Murfield. From the pilot we see that they have a connection, mostly Catherine's mother's death and him saving her. The second episode is where they establish more of a friendship than just two people with this connection of pretty much being victims of Murfield in a way. Catherine goes to Vincent trying to find out more information about her mom and in a way using him. But in this episode, as they grow closer through being friends, there is also the attraction towards each other that we see especially in the rain argument scene. Another big scene, I think is where she is able to calm the Beast side when they were down in the basement area, which makes their connection even stronger. She has that power over him to be able to calm him down to focus on her. It's not just a connection with Vincent but also with Beast Vincent. The fire escape scene, I hope for more scenes like that. Just talking at the fire escape, but then again he has been inside her room now. Anyways, it shows more of how they want to be in each others life and want to make it work. I think it is their first step in forming a relationship and trust for each other. Oh also the part when he pulls her into the little alley or whatever, I like pause it just to see him holding her close even though it wasn't in a intimate hug or anything romantic. I kinda fan girled a bit just because he was holding her. hahaha. This is one of my favorite episodes along with episodes 6 and 9. ( haha 3, 6, 9, looks like a pattern ) Will Catherine and Vincent see the worth in their relationship and take the risk to be together? I just love this ^. I say it is soo worth the risk. ;D Great insights on the episode panda! Those are my favorite eps too, along with episode 5!

Looking forward to seeing this episode again this Thursday. I've watched this one at least 5 times already. There is something about the interactions between Catherine and Vincent in this one; they begin to trust one another. It's a huge stepping stone for them and their relationship. Of all the procedurals, I thought this one wasn't so bad.

She keeps pushing on his boundaries, and they are kind of fighting a little.. It becomes obvious that they both want so much more. It is very revealing in a way about her needs, which, clearly he is not catering to. I felt like their dynamic was very hot and cold - passionate almost. I still hate the story of the week, though... ugh procedural.

and what about the fight under the rain? that was HOT! and they both looked AMAZING! I really liked this episode. About procedural, it wasn't my favorite part but I liked it because it helped a lot to develop VinCat relationship. Also, being positive about the procedural part (don't misunderstand me, I'm glad it disappeared...) I think the writers found a very nice way of linking the case of the week with every new element of VinCat relation... they were pushing the right buttons to make it grow! (I can't help but think about Worth... awww... I LOVED that episode, especially the last scene... I really thought they were going to kiss there!)

I love this episode...The scene in which she calms him down in the basement, fearless and with understanding just blew me away! One of my all time favorite scenes in the first season! Well and she really protected him there, in addition to "calming" him down. She diverted the swat team, rendered the suspect unconscious, AND calmed the beast. It was kind of amazing. I think Vincent was blown away by the whole thing. She really earned that phone number

She soothes him with words and her demeanor - don't get me wrong - but Catherine touching his face is what seals it. She doesn't run, she doesn't act as if he is hideous, and she doesn't treat him like a monster. (Guess she "touches" him on many levels!) I think this epi is important to remember later in "Cold Turkey" when they are having their little spat behind the tree (my very favorite VinCat fight -- overloaded with sexual tension and love!) when Cat reminds Vincent that she has always treated him like a person. Earned his phone number? Sure, but IMHO she really earned his trust, which is why he gave her his phone number.

I love ANY touches...the face touch in the pilot and this one as he's in beast mode truly showed early on how much she thought of him..and didn't let what he was in the way of expressing herself..A touch can say a thousand things without saying a word, think that is what she tried to let him see
