Did they reveal anything else about the mythology? Why they are destined? Why is the episode bittersweet? Why the solution to stopping Gabe is killing Vincent? I'm confused. Thanks for the recaps! Killing Vincent is never the solution for stopping Gabe...I can't remember where that came from...wrong Intel!! The only thing we get is that VinCat's story is parallel to Ralistair's story....

Nothing really. The solution to stopping Gabe was not killing. Vincent. In the 1850s there was another beast killing people and they thoug it was Alistair, Alistair was trying to stop him but Rebecca didn't wanna lose him so she locked him in a cell and determined she had to be the one to kill the beast, when she went back to see Alistair he was gone. The folks took him and tied him to this pole and burned him at the stake and Rebecca came rushing in the scene to find him burning. Lots of the flashbacks were going back and forth between Vincat and them. Cat was doing everything Rebecca did, which is why she locked him in a cell but also cuz Reynolds told her the only way to kill Gabe is for v to lose his humanity but then he'd be lost forever but even Reynolds said but maybe v will be different since so far V is diff from all other beasts. And she also locked him in cuz JT said Gabe is stronger and would kill Vincent. But at the end she clued in that the reason Alistair died was because they didn't work together and she locked him in which led to his death. So cat rushed to Vincent and freed him. And then they worked together to get Gabe. I did did however enjoy Vincent's digs at the journal, every time catherine mentioned the journal V was like not that again. lOL my theology wasn't what we thought, it was just about how Rebecca and Alistair were in love really. Why they r destined no they didn't but I like it better that way loli guess the episode is bittersweet cuz Rebecca never got to save Alistair but Catherine did save V.

We got that from the episode description, that Cat was going to read in the journal that the only way to thwart Gabe would be by killing. Vincent hence why I say the episode descriptions are always misleading.

I watch online. I always form my own opinion but its nice to read what others think. I love this show! Always will. Like I said..we need one good love scene a season w/o interruption, in the light w/ alot of skin just one. Then they can spy and FBI away The writers got plenty of time to write good episodes for S3, hope they can bring the magic back. Looks like the epic battle was not close to being epic? I guess right in Cat killing G... Are we sure G is gone gone? Or some beastly nail hanging somewhere? Ive deduced you must rip their heart out to kill them lol or they just keep coming back

But I am DEEPLY saddened that Agent Knox is dead. I so wished he would of been back next season.

Okay, I finished watching the episode. I liked it... can't say I loved it.. at least not yet! Probably a second view will help! Surprisingly tears came with Tess! oh my! both scenes when JT was badly injured and seemed he had no chance.. she did great! I swear watching JT hanging stopped my heart for few seconds! 1800 was very well recreated but I admit I expected a deeper connection between past and present. I get the main point and the most important difference between two stories. In the present they worked TOGETHER and that's what made them win, but I really thought there was some deeper connection, even supernatural, based on the "hints" of Catherine's effect on beasts. Maybe it was just about "love" after all, but then some savings like "Xavier" don't fit in the story... I liked that they both worked together to defeat Gabe and shoe20, I thought about you when Catherine finally kills Gabe. It was self-defense so no trauma for her and many viewers get what they want! C killing him! hehehe Btw, Gabe was amazing as baddie! the way he called V? "where are youuuu?" that was creepy!!! LOL Very sorry that they killed Knox... I really liked him I'm a bit afraid about how they will develop all the new missions these guys from government proposed them! I can't help it! so far BATB hasn't been able to deliver deep and connected stories or mythology, and cases or missions weren't that great, so crossing fingers they do something nice for next season! Over all, I liked it, as I said, not loved it.. but that's at 4'30 am so most probably will change my mind, especially after reading other's comments!

A lot of times i think they over hyped everything, so viewers will anticipate evrything being epic when it's not..clips don't tell a story too..sometimes the epi description don't match with the episodes itself, or how they describe it on twitter etc...

I felt oliver/Slade showdown was a little bit letdown .so I do have pretty high standards for action seq.looks like chandler family r all party crashers.in s1 Reynolds s2 cat .not accusing

I figured that out a while ago, promos and descriptions are so off. I think even this episode they hyped it up to the point we expected something other then what we saw. They made it seem like is episode was all about Vincat magic which I egg what they meant that they work together and all but I thought it was gonna be more about why they r destined and so on. I'm trying to rewatch it online now again second time is always better and you see more stuff that u missed. Especially me when I try to recap for everyone lol
