Brief review of Season Two: It didn't totally suck! But, mostly. LOL I think they got the message. If you going to put a couple together like Gabe and Cat, you need at least one viewer that thinks it's great. Bye the way, I agree with you we need more Cat as a strong protagonist. The last season was defiantly Vin-centric. =) I watch the series because of KK not Jay, and what they did with the season, didn't help her character ( I'm not talking the last 6) They took her from position of power to a "yes" girl, and it didn't set well with me.

Brief review of Season Two: It didn't totally suck! No it didn't, far from it. The first half is a vague memory for me now, but I don't think it was that bad. I thoroughly enjoyed 215-222 and feel S2 had a very strong finish with these Summer eps.

Alison I'm not defending him, you are right on the part that he was excusing himself on the protecting part just to get rid of Vincent but he also wanted to get Cat back.. see I wouldn't call it love either but he still wanted her, he indeed wanted a chance with Cat, a chance he didn't deserve and that Cat didn't want it on the first place and he thought that taking Vincent out of the picture would give him that chance. During the fight he actually asked Vincent if he thought that C would take him back. So for someone that still wonders if Cat can be with him hitting her was out of chacarter to me even if he was hurt. All in all Gabe would end up either in jail or dead but since it was a season finale that was written like a series finale the happy ending was killing Gabe and given the fact that Cat was the one against the idea of killing him it was her he needed to crossed the line with, he did and he died. He deserve it but just like Sayuri_happy_4_s3 says it was a little to rush from episode to episode, in my humble opinion, and the fact that he "dated" her in full honestly the last episode and tried to killer in the next one is the part that I found out of character. My husband also said Gabe should have been a villain for longer and he died too easily. I don't find the Gabe slapping Cat out of character and that's because one he lost all his humanity to give a crap, when he asked V if Cat would take him back once hes dead.. he was just trying to rattle V. And when he got trapped by Cat with the collar well he knew Cat would do anything to protect V and when she told him you're going down he slapped her. I think that's how he expressed his betrayal of being dumped for V and used to get over V. I am glad Cat killed him and not Vincent. I am overjoyed in fact. DING DONG THE WICKED BEAST IS GONE lol I like the idea of Gabe being dead actually, I'm not a fan of having new villains for the next season but I wouldn't like Gabe either.. at this point I'm not sure how much more he could add to the story and I even when I felt sorry for him in some points the character got a little lame with all his obsessions

I thoroughly enjoyed 215-222 and feel S2 had a very strong finish with these Summer eps. It was just the middle part that totally sucked, right? I thought it was very deft the way the final episode ended with a moment of calm and resolution, in case the season finale was the series finale. And it would have been OK that way, I guess.

Yeah, the middle was surely the low point. I know everybody hates the Tori and Gabe love triangles. But for me, it made the VinCat reunion at the end of 2x15 (and the rest of the season) that much sweeter. So I didn't mind those middle episodes that much because it laid the foundation for what was to come - which was the best part of the season. However, I think for others, the long hiatus break between 2x16 and 2x17 let the bad taste of those middle eps fester for too long. Perhaps if the entire season aired continuously, some might feel differently about the season as a whole. As I said, the first half of the season is now a bit of blur for me, but I think the good far outweighs the bad. I agree that the finale was deft in bringing things to conclusion. I love the S2 finale and how things ended. I would have been satisfied had it been the series ending. It's now torture waiting for S3.
