mocha83 I thought that Vincent could only hear the detonator when Bob&Carole left and opened the door widely, so this didn't annoy me. The getting dressed with perfect dry hair mere minutes after the diving scene did have me raising my eyes, but well détail... I agrée with you jefferen on the chemistry still being there and BATB still being a greater show than others and I find it hard to read that some of you are bored I would like more too, but I'm not bored Probably call me naïve, optimistic or whatever, but I have faith Laura I agree that beasties who don't particularly liked the latest 2 ep should not Say the contrary on Twitter. It's always possible to promote the show and RT articles to show beasties are around and follow the news, etc. without explicitely write to cast/crew members saying it's all awesome.

Well in fact first time we saw someone walk out from water perfectly dry was James Bond... so maybe it is a spy ability :-) I dont need a struggling love to feel the love between Vincat so I recall my freedom to say that I like S3 a lot, much more than some arc in S2 when I in fact felt a little bored (Sam arc gor example, not Tory one coz I didn't think for a moment about a Vincent-Tory love story). And yes if someone has something to say to the crew he'd better tell his opinion coz now they are filming and they could give credit to costructive critics

And yes if someone has something to say to the crew he'd better tell his opinion coz now they are filming and they could give credit to costructive critics i think that is the point we all "recall our freedom" to express what we think about each episode - that is what this forum is about. not sure whether u were around during season 2 or not (i mean in the forum) but there were many differing and very very very passionately expressed opinions i personally felt that ep2 and 3 of s3 were entertaining and better crafted than many previous episodes (as u also mentioned above) but also more emotionally void. i also feel the chemistry less so than all s1 episodes and most s2 episodes - Maybe it is all part of the writers plan and there will be an explosion on emotions soon. or maybe not - i dont know yet. it really depends on what floats your boat and what you are looking for in the show. we are not robots and we dont all think the same all the time - so lets All continue to express our views freely and without fear that we will sound too negative or too positive. if i love 304 i will say i love it even if everyone else hates it and vice versa.

anapi -season3baby :) I joined the forum only in september 2014 so I wasn't here while S2 was airing. I read some of the previous episode post and yes i saw different opinion always written with a lot of passion and that is what pushed me from being only a forum reader to become a post-writer myself. So why stop? Let's see what is in storage for us

For what it is worth, here is my two cents on the beginning of this season----
The first few episodes should be the calm before the storm. You introduce several new characters into the mix that are on the fringe of the big conspiracy. That way, you have multiple players, but the center is still largely unknown. So there are multiple false starts, so to speak of potential big bads that are not--red herrings and the like.
This way, you are able to have your characters in a sort of false normal. Without a major big-bad that is directly on the horizon, you have your characters have several little spats or problems with the humdrum daily existence. But then the rug gets pulled out from everyone rather suddenly, and it causes everyone to shift gears AND realize what is really important. And you will get that natural flair-up of VinCat passion all over again as they remember what is REALLY important, and it is not trivial wedding things.
They are trying for the slow build-up to the major big-bad and introduce potential allies or enemies to the cause. Because you don't just have the major big-bad, you have all those side projects that either hinder or help in discovering said enemy.
When JT decoded the flashdrive at the end of last season, he discovered that those players and their secret organization had been behind Muirfiled and secret beast experiments on humans. The organization was potentially exposed, but since Gabe never had a chance to work with Sam, nothing ever officially happened to any of these people, other than them becoming aware that the serum was back out there via Sam. So we may have a new group coming into their prime from having a vacuum of power with all that Sam potentially exposed, or you have someone all new, OR you have someon that broke off from the major group.
(Or knowing our writers and their potential to ignore continuity when it suits them, this could be all new something else, until they choose to bring back the people Sam discovered.)
But I see these first episodes as establishing a potential normal that will literally get blown to smithereens when tghe REAL trouble starts. And when the real trouble starts, that will naturally amp up the VinCat drama AND PASSION, because VinCat will realize what is REALLY important, and that is NOT their careers. It is simply being together and relishing the passion that they have. They will once again turn towards one another and figure out that their previous concerns about decorations, wedding drama, etc. was not what they really need or is reflective of just WHY they are really together and in love.
We HAVE to establish some sort of baseline first, and I see these initial episodes as doing that. Then you have like the end of Season 2, with a dramatic increase in the plotline, enemies and romance. VinCat often most appreciate one another when they are most at risk of losing one another AND AS A RESULT have to see what REALLY IS important.
So I see what we are viewing right now as being like going up that first LLLOONNNGGG rollar coaster hill right before you take that plunge when you realize just what a wild ride you now are on.
With 21 and 22 episodes a season, the focus becomes on individual episodes. With only 13 episodes, you basically have the focus be on one overriding story arc. So that means some episodes will definitely be more exciting and amped up on romance than others, because you have to start somewhere and introduce what will later become the focus of the season. So we quite naturally HAVE to adjust to the new way of things. I am just so glad to still have BATB, so I am choosing to be optimistic at the moment. PLUS, I am actually enjoying what I am seeing on my screen right now. I am not trying to compare it to the other seasons for the reasons of what I just wrote above. I will see how this all plays out. I still have FAITH and HOPE fellow Beasties!

Yes it's fun to discuss and read about the different opinions! I do agree and I like to read any of yours, when I have time that is. Still late on alwayscrazedbatbfan 's comments.... If anyone had the same opinion about all episode, that would be a shame! And the more discussion, and the more disagreements, the better. Beasties have always been passionate! So yes I disagree on the chemistry being less in S3 than S1. But I do agree on the deep conversation and connection being not enough in S3

I actually loved this episode. It's *by far* the best episode compare to those in season 2 (most of them or maybe all of them except for 1 or 2 episodes), even compare to most of season 1 in terms of writing IMHO (lame Murfield! Boo!). I had so much fun watching this episode and I thought vincat so adorable as a normal couple. As for the angst, as we know most of beasties don't want to see a love triangle anymore so this is (I guess) what we could get if we also want to see Vincat together (except for maybe If Vincent goes in hiding again and becomes a man without a job and having nothing but love ). Personally I don't mind with this 'vincat are living happily together' storyline but I do agree it makes vincat losing their magic a little bit. Well, i don't think the writers will ever satisfy the beasties. But I really hope we can gain new audiences if it's not too late

It was eo2 and 3 I had an issue with - and I do understand it is how they are written but it is a shame. It may be on purpose but I am not convinced the writers understand the importance for both the emotional connection and character development and the need to retain the spark in that relationship and for it to be clear to us. Maybe they do and maybe it is part of their plan this season and things change soon. Good thing is we don't have to wait for a year to figure that one out

Wow. Wow. Wow. I absolutely LOVED every second of this episode. I really feel like the show has gotten off to something really amazing this season. Each episode tops the previous one.
Personal highlights:
1, Catherine kicking ass! You could really tell Kristin enjoys filming these scenes, she's totally in her element.
2, Vincat banter. Kudos to writers for being able to write a sexy commited couple without coming off boring or stooping to the sugar and cheese one so often sees on television these days. These two play each other off so eforlessly, so naturally. I am a big fan of subtle and light and it's amazing to see what they can all convey with a short quip and facial expression. This is so refreshing to see - and so rare.
I am not sure that Beasties realize how lucky they are that way. I'd spent 11 years watching a show where the central couple became a snoozefest in season 5 and never fully recovered. It wasn't due to the lack of chemistry, it was due to the lack of skill in the writers' room. This, fortunately, is NOT the case of BATB.
I guess it's a matter of personal preference and perception of things, I much rather see Vincent and Catherine teasing each other about lamps and wedding planning than making puppy eyes at each other every episode. I can tell that even for the actors the light and easy is much more fun to play and they're happy to leave the torturous times of season 2 behind. I do not see the lack of longing for another at all. Quite the opposite. I feel like Catherine and Vincent are in a constant flirt mode - body language, eyes, voice. Which brings me to my next episode highlight:
3, The houseboat scene. Why on earth would you button up that shirt? I had to go there. Absolutely loved the whole houseboat exchange because it was so REAL. It's like they've been doing it for years and it shows how much they've grown as a couple.
4, Carol telling Cat she kicks ass and the look between Vincat that followed. Oh my. Who needs season 1. The sheer pride on Vicent's face when she said that and the little smug and smirk on Cat's. Precisely that sort of moment that could never happen in season 1 because the comfort and the solidity had not been there yet.
All in all, the episode just flew by. Great tempo, great actions scenes and great intricate plot. I'm impressed. Keep it up.

I found this scene pretty funny! LOL HE was such in a rush that he put his shirt on wrong..Catherine started undressing him to fix it as he put on his belt!

Great tempo, great actions scenes and great intricate plot. I'm impressed. Keep it up. You took the words right out of my mouth. I REALLY liked this episode. There were a few gaps to me but I like the dialogue and the scenes flowed well. Vincent and Cat......... "I feel like Catherine and Vincent are in a constant flirt mode - body language, eyes, voice.".....Exactly! I finally feel like they are so much more natural with each other. Like there is some tension that is gone...........but they are much more sexy and flirty. There is a playfulness and pride and confidence in each other. I want to see some teasing and more playful touching. Is it me or is the introduction of the show much longer? I feel like there are many more scenes....I have to make sure I don't miss any of the beginning because so much happens. I loved the Intro. Vincent and Heather have a cute banter. I LOVED Cat and Vincent on the sofa and Vincent falls asleep. I would love to see Catherine in some sexy little lingerie and have Vincent go nuts. (That's my wish scene)! I need to see this episode again tomorrow. I even liked JT and Tess this episode. I loved the Tess scenes, ....getting Captain was something she needed to grow as a character. JT and Tess are a great support system to VinCat and to each other. But frankly, they are like an old married couple so far, IMO. Buh, Bye Houseboat! I am kinda glad. Bob and Carol........interesting duo......I am a bit disappointed that VinCat were so quick to "tell them" everything. I was like, Whoa, Slow Down! I am glad they came to their senses. I like that they may be coming back.....shows some storyline continuity building. I use to get annoyed with all the NYC skyline shots but they were just beautiful in the Intro and throughout the episode. It gives the show a nice feel. I still feel like the show is just too dark. But I like the camera work, the scene shots and sets have a lot of character. Love Heather's clothes and style. Love Tess' Hair......love it! Not a fan of Cat's hair but I like the curls vs. the straight dull hair. She looks like an impending Bride not just a hard-nosed NYC cop. But she still kicks A$$!! Loved the Houseboat fight scene. I wasn't a fan of Episode 2..... didn't even feel like watching it again. But I really liked this episode. More please!!

Well I've found out that I'm really in love with BATB and its cast. Wow I don't even know if I'm really objective! Maybe not because I like every second of this show.
Kristen, Jay, Austin and Nina are amazing, they make me really think that their characters are real. I like the way S3 is moving and how writers keep action/suspence story linked to characters life and that despite the fast pace there are still cute dialogues showing how the relationships are evolving. Special effects are also better than in previous seasons.
I believe this episode not only opens the way to the new misterios organization, but also shows that Vin & Cat are making improvements working as a team, that JT& Tess have found in each other a support, someone who really cares. Love the "new Heather", she is still naif but she is really closer to Cat and approaching Vincent in a sweet way.
Even when there was no big romantic scene, I feel that "romance" was in the air in each scene, even fighting with Bob & Carol.
Well again I must be in love with this show because I can't barely wait for the next episode!

Our VinCat has grown up and grown together. After all they have gone through they have changed in the way that is most important - their love for each other and their bond as a couple have matured and is becoming secure. I am looking forward to where this is leading and where this saga should go for me, to their destiny. Like susy, I cannot wait for the next episode and the next and the next, you get the point!
