Another solid episode. Catherine delivered in that emotional scene. I wonder how she explains what she meant by her Mom hurt Vincent to her aunties. I loved the way Catherine's voice changed when she said "she hurt Vincent." Her voice inflection was subtle, but there was so much pain for the one she loved in it. I felt that the Catherine I know and love came back after the shower outburst. This episode explained a lot of Cat's craziness during the last few episodes. By the time she and Vincent ended up at the church again I felt that the driven but gentle, giving Catherine was back again and finally allowing herself to enjoy this moment in her life. Boy has she been missed!

1. The car poursuit scene...it was so obvious that Catherine was not driving the car. I didn't even notice. I was too busy appreciating the way the fancy driving and the way the scene was edited. Hearing 1st season Cat talk about her mom and their relationship, I accepted it for what it probably was the special bonding that a parent and first born child sometimes share. I think lots of parents have a favorite whether they will admit it or not. As much as I love Vincat, I'm enjoying seeing them apart because even when they are off doing their own thing, they are connected. Plus we got that sweet little scene of Cat kissing Vincent goodbye when she left the gang at JT's and Vincent not going there for the stripper's lap dance because what he has at home is so much hotter.

For the sake of sounding like a broken record - what a fantastic episode! Got to agree. She is pretty close to perfect. I'm really warming up to Tess this season. She seems like a new person. I didn't get the feeling that Jay's acting was off. I got the feeling that Vincent was reacting to Catherine's "indecisiveness" along with her moods of late. Both JT and Tess have noted that they usually see eye to eye on everything and are in perfect sync, but they really haven't been since the engagement. And the more Vincent said he wanted to hurry up and marry Catherine, the more obstacles Cat seemed to throw in their path. Vincent knows she loves him so he had to be worrying about what was really bothering her and why she wasn't talking to him about it. When I found out that Nicole was coming back as a regular this season I wondered why. As I've said before, I've never considered Heather more than a recurring character, so I didn't know what they were planning to do with her character. Yeah, Nina Dobrev is gone now. No one on the CW gets their props.

Season 4 Suzie, I always thought Bob was involved with Thomas's death. I think Vanessa remained with Muirfield because she was scared. She could have been dead a lot sooner rather than later had she tried to leave. And the threat of danger to her family was a reality. She told Cat that the people she worked for couldn't be trusted. Nothing that Vanessa said gives that impression. She wanted to make amends (probably after seeing all the human suffering and damage she caused), but she didn't come across as having superior scruples IMO. The one thing that she did say that I hope truly resonated with Cat was that she wanted her to find love and be happy and not to give up her life to save the world.

There is a thing of the episode I doon't like... When Catherine, called Reynolds dad, and instead talking about Tom she calls him by name. For me it is nonsense, here they are wrong!

I thought I'd show you without really spoiling it the emotions that KK displayed during certain scenes. These scenes in itself VERY powerful! The thing was that in a certain scene it was ONLY her expressions that told her story and what she was feeling. I haven't cried like this for an episode in a while! She made me FEEL EVERYTHING! I can't express enough, everything @clena said, anapi -season3baby :) and all the others said about this episode is so TRUE!! Although I will say that Vincent was just a support for her in this episode. This was ALL about Catherine! Refreshing episode and beautifully directed and written. Kudos to KK for her tremendous performance! I edited this post to say one thing, I am ONE who is enjoying this season. I understand why say that there was something missing even though the show was better. I always understood where they were coming from. When you get an episode like this, EVERYTHING goes out the window and you can truly appreciate what we fell in love when it comes to this show.I needed emotions, I needed true angst, I needed to FEEL the characters and this episode did just that! Yes x10 to the bolded!!

Yes what was missing was real, raw emotions which is what made us fall in love with the show in the first place, which is what made the show stand out from other generic shows, which is what I did not feel I was getting in s3. This episode really was every thing. Really was.

:dancing5:Great Episode! The drama is back, thank God!!!! Let's pray Catharine calms down and get back to be the sweet, strong, emotive and brave woman she always was!!! (because, in my opinion, she was too neurotic, cold with the marriege thing and out of character....) Ilaria, I was also botherd by the way Cat (writers) talked about her father Tom (he was her real father for me...). Maybe is just the way they wrote the scene, but will be good if Cat says he loves him... And it's really strange how they never talked about the way he was dead and how Catherine didn't go for justice like she always do, even with strangers... That's a huge hole in the story for me... And Nely, you are not leaving, are you?

I didn't feel Vincent's cousins at all but maybe I wasn't supposed to. So I don't dwell on it. I didn't feel Jay's acting this episode either but he's entitled to a lazy acting now and then, I am sure he is going to make up for it in the episodes to come. Loved the church scene in the end. Again, was expecting a tiny bit more emotion coming from Vincent but that went along with what I previously said about Ryan's acting this episode - he gets a free pass this time. I don't think Jay's acting was off nor lazy. This episode was centered around and focused on Catherine's emotional outburst and breakthrough regarding her mum. That is why Catherine scenes were more 'powerful'. IMO, Jay nailed all his scenes. The final VinCat scene, Jay was SO S1 Vincent there. The way Vincent looked at Catherine and took in every word she was saying. Obviously he's not going to talk all over her because he was listening since she was having an important moment. He was and has always been so supportive of her As for Vincent's relatives, like you said I think the idea was that we weren't meant to 'feel' them. They were complete douche-bags and good riddance to them. Loved the scene where Vincent speaks to his cousin in the hospital. You can feel how much he misses his brothers and family. My heart broke for him in a few scenes this episode. And I loved the scene where he informs J.T. and Tess that he knows who his real family are Oh and how could I forget the Beast/superhuman fight in broad daylight? And how well he played the awkward guy at his party? So IMO, Jay/Vincent's acting wasn't off this episode but because the plot was very Cat-oriented we as viewers paid more attention to her and her emotions. But wow have I missed this Catherine! Kudos again to Kristin Kreuk for her star performance! She's the best crier hands down!!

It is just that cat was the focal point this ep and kk did a stellar job at it as expected

I was thinking about the jail scene and Catherine speaking with her dad. The 'box' he was referring to was obviously at his home. The one that VinCat went to thanksgiving dinner in Guess Who's Coming To Dinner. It is plausible that he kept that in memory of Vanessa. Now the fact that he sold the house and was in jail obviously decided to give it to her. Now obviously Catherine being angry at her mom I see why she never opened it until he reminded her of it. Besides with beasts...superhuman and VinCat always in danger I would have forgotten about it too.
But I'm sure she ignored it cause she was angry and resented what her mom had done to Vincent and eventually to her.
