Love this theory about Liam & Alistair being brothers! And I wish they would've introduced Liam sooner, geez so much potential there especially since how he is tied into Ralister. Not likely, it Liam is 200 years old. It makes more sense that Liam was Alistair. But that's just me, I hate plot lines that don't blow my socks off.

So I went back and in Deja Vu, Cat did reference the beast that was after R n A so Heather's news from London shouldn't have been a surprise. Guess Cat did get hit in the head. Ha ha. And am I the only one who thought the episode was going to end with a cliffy of them showing Liam returning to Cat's apartment and attacking Heather? I thought that was going to be the purpose of that odd moment in the apartment where it first looked like Vincent was waiting for Heather to leave but when she didn't, Cat and V leaving her alone to go for a walk. Yeah, I first thought the only purpose of H telling C about her research in London was to remind the audience that there's been other beasts in the 1800s. But then when JT came to the conclusion that L must've been the beast of the 1800s I realised they did that on purpose, as to tie L with the mythological storyline of "Déjà Vu". I guess the writers don't remembers details of the previous episodes as much as we beasties do... And no you are not the only one who thought about some threat to H in the end of the episode, especially after L made it so obvious to C that he knows of H when they met in Il Cantuccio. I also thought that something might happen to Heather and that V is gonna feel responsible because he's the one who suggested they go for a walk... Also at the end of the Episode I found it rather odd, that the writers took the trouble of having a scene like that -where V obviously wants some alone time with C but H making herself at home- if they (the writers) were not having an ulterior motive, especially as L knows the apartment and already broke in once... I read some posts regarding L being connected to Alistair as being his brother or even being Alistair. But that can't be. According to what JT found out Liam is 200 years old. Then there's the photo H showed JT and C of a young looking L in the 1800s who according to H research was engaged to Rebecca before she got engaged to Alistair. So Liam and Alistair are not the same Beast/Person. As to being related, I don't think they were, since according to H's research L's family dumped him when he was a kid, most likely because they found out about his other side. Also what is it about the suffering Liam is mentioning... He mentioned it twice until now. Once when he was talking to that old woman before he blew off the hospice and then this episode while talking to V. Then there's Juliana's Brother who said, that Liam came to his sister claiming he's suffering from a rare neurological disease (which we know, was to get her to experiment on him, but yet again Liam allegedly said that he's suffering). Is it that he is really suffering in a physical way or is it something more unpalpable? I still think that Liam going to DHS was not only to get V away from C, but also because he is really afraid of being exposed as a beast not only because of his DNA but also as JT found out, he is over 200 years old which would make him a subject of research etc. Moreover, L told V that he made sure that DHS acquired some of V's blood so that he would help L. V seemed surprised and even afterwards in DHS V seemed to be positive that L only said that in order to get V to play along. BUT! We already know that DHS had DNA samples of V since they had him in their Labs in 2x21. V even told Agent Knox that DHS got what they wanted, that is his blood. And DHS knew that V was a beast, since he beasted out in front of them, they even had a fancy watch to be able to control him if he would beast out. So why was V acting so surprised when L mentioned DHS knowing about beasts? Did he also got hit on the head? On a Sidenote, when JT told V&C that he couldn't remember where he put the Gem, I was just thinking 'while you're at the DHS headquarters, Vincent, would you mind getting that fancy beast-control-watch as a nice accessory for you know who?' Here's something I must say about the plot coming together nicely... In 3x10 V is questioning Juliana's brother about the serum and that it always enhanced something preexisting. And he kept asking what Juliana's Serum enhanced in L's Case. Which her brother did not know. Remember also in the episode "Chasing Ghosts" there was a breakout of superhumans and when JT studied their bloodsamples he came across the protobeast DNA. So Juliana used protobeast DNA to make that serum, right? JT and V were even wondering on how somebody might've gotten his fingers on it and V&C went to Bob Reynolds afterwards to ask him if he knew of someone that could be holding on to protobeast DNA. So there were these subtle hints to protobeasts, but we didn't see it Now, Liam is a 200 year old beast, so we can assume he already had protobeast DNA in him (I gather it was hereditary since we know L was dumped by his family as a kid) when he asked Juliana for help. So this would mean that Juliana somehow required some of L's DNA in order to make the serum she injected the other superhumans with, right? Which would also mean that the serum she used on L had no protobeast DNA in it, meaning it is a totally different serum, isn't it? I hate that there are only 2 episodes left... I feel like there's so much story to tell but not enough time to do so... and I get this sense of foreboding...

I feel like there's so much story to tell but not enough time to do so... and I get this sense of foreboding... Right we know Liam couldn't have been Al because Heather said that Rebecca had been engaged to Liam before she and Al got together and he was the chief suspect in their murders. Although if we are supposed to take what we saw in Deja Vu as accurate in terms of what happened, Al was burned at the stake by a mob so Liam shouldn't have been a suspect in Al's death. And I don't think Liam being 200 years old would mean he couldn't have been Al's brother or even his father or, not that they'd go there and do a Chinatown, but he could be his father and his brother. Ha, ha, ha. 1854 was 161 years ago so Liam could have been born in 1815 which would make him 39 in 1854 and if Al was in his early 30s when he died he could have been born in the 1820s. Maybe they were half brothers. They had a randy, beastly father who went about impregnating women in the early part of the 1800s. Maybe something about the Reynolds women attracts beastly men (could explain Gabe as well) so Liam met Rebecca and they got engaged but then she fell in love with his half-brother and Liam has been suffering ever since. Yes, V. and the gang seem to have forgotten about DHS getting V's blood earlier when they were experimenting on him. Just like none of them seemed to think about using the gem on the guys Sam was turning into beasts or bringing it out earlier in the season when Cat was worried about V going primal. That's why I said earlier that they should have kept Tori alive and have V. very generously give her the gem so that she could go and live her life as a "normal" person. She would've left NY to travel once V. told her he wanted to try and win Cat back and then they would have to track her down whenever they needed the gem, rather than all of them conveniently forgetting about it. I do like that they are trying to build some mythology so that there's something other than VinCat relationship to ponder and there is a type of whale (Bowhead) that has an avg. lifespan over 200 years so yeah show for that, but then the rest sometimes. . . Besides the gem, blood, Vincent's beastly abilities etc. when JT first said that Helen and Liam were siblings, Cat said that it was impossible because Liam was a beast. But Vincent is a beast and he was related to his brothers so why couldn't Liam be a beast and be Helen's brother??

I've just rerun the episode with subtitle in my language and I can only confirm that I LOVE (with all capital letters) it! and I think writers went for a good storyline even if they started in an odd way that probably made the show losing a lot of passionate viewers and increasing bad feelings among some fans. And that's a shame IMO, because now we have a sci-fi tv show mixed with a mithology show where everything is tied up by love in all its form: romantic love, brotherood love, friends love. Last 2 episode put me on the edge of my seat while watching the show and that is all I ask (ok maybe a VinCat kiss longer than 20 sec would be the ice on the cake...)

Right, but when Cat said that, I don't think she knew why Liam was a beast. Except for Tori, the other beasts they had encountered were beasts due to injections, I would think she would assume Liam was a beast as a result of being injected as well???

Beasties did anyone notice the photo behind Heather in the end of the episode right after V suggested they go for a walk and C asked H to let her know if Tess calls. I'm no computer genious so I don't know how to zoom in on it, but I guess some of my beloved Beastiesisters (and brothers) can help here. It must be a photo of VinCat (at least I hope so) and I'd love to see it clearly. So, pleaaaaaase can anyone zoom in on it and give us a still? Pretty pleaaaaaaase

I love the fact that Cat now has a photo of Vincent above the fireplace even though it's one that Alex used to have.

Thank you for getting us started Andromeda03! What a fantastic episode! And by the way I was first on the train about Liam but in the wrong car! LOL It seems that our baddie is not the descendant but the actual evil beast who taunted Alistair! 200 years walking in hatred doesn't bode well for anyone. Well slap me hard and WOW about that bombshell!!! If I was to be one upped they couldn't have been a better trump card played. And our girl Heather had the trump hand in the disclosure, awesomely played. And I bow to the master of scripts for this episode! Heather is going to be my wonder child and I just love it!!! I told you she would be the one to investigate the Rebecca and Alistair history and she is definitely up to the task. The connection Liam wants with Vincent is fueled by hatred as Cat is a descendent of Rebecca, Liam's former lover who chose Alistair. Trouble ahead, frankly Liam had better watch out because I sense our resourceful Heather will come up with some very vital Intel to help VinCat, JT and Tess to put Liam down. Vengeance is a double-edged sword Beasties! It always cuts both ways and the wielder looks to be in line to take the fatal cut! What say you Beastie Den?

You were indeed. I knew Liam was coming, was a beast and was claiming to be related to the Ellingsworth before the season even started and I didn't think about him being related to the R&A story until you mentioned it. BTW - why does Liam not care about getting rid of JT anymore? I know he said JT was dying but I thought he wanted to get rid of all the serum recipients regardless.

Another great episode. Things are really building up nicely, taking us to the next penultimate episode and the finale!.
I'm loving the mythology this season. I wouldn't even mind another flashback/dream sequence of Rebecca, Alistair and Liam. But I doubt that will happen. I have this feeling that Liam might actually see Rebecca in Cat and start to long for her, perhaps changing his end game to try and reclaim his lost love via Cat, or kill her as he did Rebecca.
Although there was no kiss, I liked the VinCat connection in this episode. I also liked JTnT too, no gripes from me about their screen time. I am also wondering now if Heather has some role with the mythology or destiny of it all. She's becoming more and more part of the Scooby gang and I like her character.

It would, but it can't be as we 1.) know that Alistair was burned on the stake by an angry mob, and 2.) know by Heather's Research that Rebecca was first engaged to Liam and then got engaged to Alistair... I don't know about you, but IMO Liam being a 200 year old beast and being the original beast who was engaged to Rebecca and who was killing people making it seem like Alistair did, so that Alistair would get burned on the stake is a pretty mindblowing twist And I'm still dying to see a zoom in on that photo behind Heather in the end of the episode, so pleaaaaase Beasties help me Why didn't they show us a zoom in of that photo? Why?

BTW - why does Liam not care about getting rid of JT anymore? I know he said JT was dying but I thought he wanted to get rid of all the serum recipients regardless. Hello My Beastie Gal Pal pippin! Yikes, RIGHT, about the way the episode played out? I, off the top of my head, think JT is a later pawn if necessary. I also think that JT is a non-issue to Liam if he does indeed follow type as a serum victim. But on that topic, I have a strong sense that something else may be happening to JT as a result of his infusion. But back to Liam, Vincent is the prize for him. The hatred and contest is solely focused on our Beast Vincent. He either wants to doom Vincent into the world of full transformation, kill him or sever his destiny with Cat which Liam feels will utterly devastate Vincent and that would be truly satisfying revenge. I am in the car with BeastieBoy for all the loop de loops on this premise. LOL - I'm sorry BeastieBoy (technically your wife is in that true limousine with ya and we love her for sharing you with the DEN). I am really sorry for the throwback but I absolutely fell hard for our VinCat in that scene! But let me get back on track here, as BeastieBoy said, I too think Liam just may play that card in regards to Cat, ancestor of his lost love Rebecca. His hatred for Alistair for winning Rebecca and I have a gut suspicion that Alistair may be the honored child of the Ellingsworth ancestor who adopted Liam or Alistair was the chosen child who remained with the parents who abandoned Liam. At any rate during that flashback episode Liam's hatred was raw and pulsing through his veins in regards to Alistair if you do a re-watch on that episode. I am so excited for what's to come and as you can tell I am devising my own script for the playing out of what is a fantastic saga especially now that my long awaited return of the GEM as well as the more in-depth delve into the story of Rebecca and Alistair has come to fruition! I can hardly wait for next Thursday!!!
