Vincent rocking another comic booky suit with the purple and black. Keep forgetting to ask you what you mean by comic booky when talking about V's clothes I mean the style and coloring (although more subtle) that comic book characters would wear.

Keep forgetting to ask you what you mean by comic booky when talking about V's clothes I mean the style and coloring (although more subtle) that comic book characters would wear. Interesting. I don't read comics so had no idea comic book characters tend to be dressed in certain colors. Here's the review from At Stake Magazine atstakemagazine.com/2015/08/03/beauty-and-the-beast-3-08-shotgun-wedding-2/What a great episode once again! I had a few minor issues, mostly with the Julianna storyline, but they were insignificant in the scheme of things. What an emotional, fast paced and well crafted episode. I loved the camera work and editing and as has been the case all season, the acting was top notch.

Yes, often villains wear some combination of green and/or purple. (Joker, Lex Luthor, Loki - there are many others). A lot of times, heroes wear primary colors, although there are the occasional purple heroes and whatnot. 2 of Vincent's suits just looked like something like that to me. It was a compliment because I like the bold color choices and the suits were well-tailored for him.

The ones who protect and love V the most.

scifi4me.com/2015/08/03/shotgun-wedding/SCIFI4Me Episode 308 of Beauty and the Beast finally gets us to where we all think we want these characters to be, but alas, no happy ending. Will these characters ever get a freaking happy ending? Is it too much to ask, to keep hoping that one of these episodes, one of these seasons, happiness will happen? This episode was stronger than the last one by a mile, but man, what a let down for Cat and Vincent. And for us.

INTERESTING that someone else has brought up the PLAID thing. For Cat this season, NOTE the pattern of plaid-wearing AND the way the plaid is, color-wise. (And again, I am probably putting WAY too much thought into the thing.)
But NOTE in 301 where Cat wears the plaid. It oftentimes seems to be a COMFORT thing for her--reminding her of Vincent and better times. The pj's he gave her were supposedly plaid. So she wears it on the way to meet him for hot sex and again on the roof when she is undoubtedly mournfully remembering said hot sex and happier times! (And throughout the plaid she wears, there is the thin line of red, which to me symbolizes that at the end of the day, when confronted between the black and white areas of their lives, it is the RED LINE of love that comes though and moves through EVERYTHING, both the white and black blobs of life. YEP, thought WAY TOO MUCH about the plaid!!!)
And JT, too, wears the plaid in 309, which is MOSTLY BLACK, to fit his mood in the bar scene with Tess. Some white, though, for hope (that he and Tess will mend things, he won't be NOT cured, etc.). AGAIN, though, NOTE the LINE OF RED that runs throughout his shirt. And Tess walks is with a GRAY shirt, emphasizing just how unsure she really is as to her intentions towards JT. They are supposedly over but so obviously NOT. In the many shades of gray area here. SO WHENEVER THERE ARE DOUBTS OR RELATIONSHIP CONFRONTATIONS IN SEASON 3 BATB, ONE OF THE COUPLE WILL WEAR PLAID! So says my observational skills from the time I have been making note of the sporting of the PLAID!!
But HERE, in this episode, I saw Cat sporting the PLAID as ENCOURAGING, especially if I am right about her choosing to wear said plaid in remembrance of the above. It means the LOVE between herself and Vincent was NEVER in doubt for her. She KNOWS she wants to marry Vincent. There is a little HURT there regarding keeping secrets from one another, particularly since Vincent gave her SUCH a hard time about it in 301. ANd MAYBE they aren't ready yet to walk down the aisle if the CEREMONY outweighs JUDGMENT and is a means of keeping secrets. Because, after all, isn't marriage supposed to be all about sharing EVERYTHING, even the things that will be worrisome to one's partners. And everyone kept EVERYTHING from Cat, and it repeatedly kept coming back to bite EVERYONE in the episode.
YET Vincent expected Cat to have feelings of that kind. And to maybe even not want to marry him. Cat is quick to reassure Vincent, putting him out of the grief that he gave her in 301. (Yes, I admit it now. I DID feel Vincent overreacted in 301 and didn't take the time to hear CAT out on the subject. Just went off and pouted. He listened to others first before even attempting to talk to his girl, and I didn't feel Cat's actions warranted that. There, I said it. Felt Cat acted WAY better in this episode than Vincent did to her in 301.) BUT this episode DOES show the VinCat PROGRESSION from 301. HERE, Vincent KNOWS that he needs to talk to Cat immediately rather than going off to stew somewhere. They need to air out their grievances and deal with the secrets TOGETHER. Vincent takes the blame for his part in the thing and sincerely means his apologies. And Cat LISTENS to him and is where he knows where to find her. She is at THE PLACE that symbolizes their love and commitment to one another--THEIR ROOF, where so much of their history has happened. Where he proposed to her. So the fact that she waits for Vincent in THIS PLACE says everything for the STRENGTH of that EPIC LOVE and how her feelings remain UNCHANGED. She WANTS to be his wife BUT in the right way AND IN THE RIGHT TIME. Cat doesn't want unfinished business, secrets or issues between them. LOVED THAT.
So I actually felt the Epic Love in this one, more so then in some episodes this Season. And LOVED how quick VinCat could FALL into one another throughout the episode. No matter what else was going on or what had happened, the two wanted to be married so badly.
And the wedding dress was lovely. BUT I did not like the way Cat's hair seemed simply up in a bun like a 19th century standard school marm! Her hair actually looked BETTER after the attack, with part of it following around her face and out of the bun! I am expecting that we were supposed to feel that everything was a little "off," including what VinCat wore, due to the fact that it simply "wasn't the right time" for the marriage. (UMMM, and why was there no VEIL? Typically, at least in American, there is the wedding veil. At the same time, though, I felt it was INTENTIONAL, since the police alarms go off while Cat is walking down the aisle, so we are actually able to SEE her face and her reaction, which otherwise would have been hidden by the veil!)
And like others have been SURE to mention before me, WHY oh WHY would ANYONE shackle someone to a radiator in BATB land? Tyler escaped from hers due to her actions with JT. So now, he leaves the room. YET NO ONE questions leaving Julianna ALONE in the room once Tess KNOWS there is a Liam that fits the bill of villain-extraordinaire AND has JUST landed in NY? SERIOUSLY? And ALL the alerts go off for the cops at once? WOW. And WHY couldn't they just have Juliana taken into custody. It is not like the NYPD would have MADE Cat give her statement right then. Sigh. I had FAR TOO MANY questions in this one. I also felt like everyone should have SERIOUSLY taken some time to interview Julianna about WHY she was doing all this. Julianna is to blame A LOT for what happens to her---I mean, she tries to beat and/or inject Cat on her WEDDING day and THEN wants them to listen to her and protect her AFTER that fails? But her sheer DESPERATION should have clued our Gang to know that something was deeply off or deeply disturbed. TIME was such an issue in this one that no one comes off looking too great with trying to accomplish too much with not enough time OR enough resources OR with letting CAT in on the whole thing in the first place. THAT has never gone well this season (or any other one for that matter) and was sure to mean trouble in the end.
LOVED the Vincent and Tess scene! Vincent describes Tess as being "their" best friend, meaning that he has come to know and respect Tess as well (again, off camera. Wonder if they ever did double dates?). I liked how Tess obviously didn't seem to blame Vincent in any way for her own break-up. And Tess WASN'T doing everything just for Cat but for Vincent as well. Shows JUST how far the two have come! And as in episode 301, TESS is the one to warn Vincent of Cat's reaction to being kept in the dark JUST as she warned CAT of the reverse in 301! So I liked the way 301 is the flip to 308 in how everyone deals with Beast Crises in BATB-land.
The 301/308 comparison was probably what I enjoyed BEST about this episode, if truth be told. You see how far VinCat has come as a couple in dealing with balancing their lives, YET you see how far they still need to go. Unfinished business can never be ignored. It was true in 301 and seems even more true in 308. Cat's end REACTION, however, threw me for a loop. Cat has been the LONE voice this season to realize that there was MORE out there coming for them and that they HAD to make it their fight. That it was their destiny. Suddenly, when she is completely confirmed as being right, she wants to back away and deny the obvious? What happened? Cat's instincts have been basically dead accurate this season up until this point. So what happened? NOT like Cat at all.
