Anyone notice that Vincent do not beastout in this episode?? that's odd. And what happened to his Beastie lie detector senses when he was talking to Julianna? Same when Tess and JT were talking about Liam being close...Vincent didn't hear a thing with his beast senses? That inconsistency bothered me a bit to be quite honest.

I agree with those who thought this episode had about the right combination of everything. Good stuff. Even loved Heather in this one. So funny. I'm not sure where all the other plot-threads are headed but at least I can follow what's going on with Vincent & Catherine.
Who else felt a moment of sadness when Cat had to walk herself down the aisle?
I originally came into this series because I found KK's Catherine Chandler very attractive. Seasons 2 and 3 - not so much. Vincent, however, is just great! You ole closet romantic, you. (Another gender role reversal?)
At the end you just want to take Cat by the arms and shake her (I toned that down quite a bit. Don't wanna be insensitive). Sure she has a right to be traumatized and sure this is never-ending but, WTF? The ending is slightly ambiguous: is she walking away from fighting the good fight? Is she walking away from getting married? Or, is she walking away from Vincent and everybody?
Who are you and what have you done with the Cat I fell in love with?

Yeah, the ending really was puzzling. Cat all of sudden is going to throw her hands up and turn in her bad-guy-hunter badge? It just doesn't make sense.
The whole series has a different feel in S3 season and I find myself in the minority I guess. I (generally) don't like it. Simple, repetitive dialog that sounds so canned that I know what they're going to say before they say it. I think KK is bordering on over-acting in a number of the scenes....although obviously she's excelled in a few.
To me, it seems like the cast is trying to compensate for poor writing. A well-intentioned effort I guess, but probably not the best thing to do.
I think "dan" is long gone, but would imagine he's happy with the seeming role reversals of the two protagonists this season.
I still don't like Heather. Just way too irritating for me. I understand she's comic relief (for the most part) but that can get tiring quickly.

Putting the writers aside, just going by what's on the screen, I'd say the Cat you fell in love with was lost when she lost Vincent at the end of S1. The 3 months she spent searching for him and putting him first before her family, friends, and job led to the evolution of the Cat we now have in S2 and S3. It changed her into this overly obsessed Cat. I actually saw the ending of this episode as potentially the turning point to bringing back the Cat of old. Instead of being over obsessed with "saving the world" and fighting "evil beasts", she's calling it quits. Somebody else's issue, not hers. She now just wants to focus on her own life with Vincent and the others that matter most (i.e. the scooby gang). I thought that watching the video of her mom in "Chasing Ghosts" was also a step in that direction, but then in "Both Sides Now", she was back to being over obsessed Cat again. So we'll see what happens next...

"Keep forgetting to ask you what you mean by comic booky when talking about V's clothes" Ok I have to agree and this is not bashing the costuming dept on BatB, just my personal opinion, respectfully given: I did not like V's day suit. That colour for the lapels as well as the blue on his boutonniere...nope! Cat's dress was okish, not the same as the one she got caught looking at in the wedding dress boutique waiting for Heather in 3x01 (I checked!) but her hair I thought made her look very prim and overly mature/serious. I get that you can't do very much with hair the length of Cat's this season (I may be wrong as a guy, so ladies feel free to correct me) but at least where I come from brides tend to let their hair grow long to give more styling options - then cut them off after that! As an example (ahem) of some other character in another show... While I would have preferred her hair to be down, I thought wearing her hair up was fine. But what was missing was the bridal veil! That would have completed the look. Again using an example from that other show, she's got a similar hair style in this pic as in Shotgun Wedding, but it looks so much better with the flowers and veil.

BeastieBoy Where is that picture from? The one of KK with veil and flowers. Smallville season 3, the episode "Relic". One of my favorites, which tells the story of a teenage Jor-El's first visit to earth in 1961. The wedding picture is Lana's grand aunt Louise, who was also played by KK in that ep.

Some comments from Catherine Ashton about the wedding dress: "Finding the prefect gown wasn't easy:) bcuz she had to wear a full harness under it . So Liam could throw her. Most gowns were 2 fitted or 2 low. Any tulle would obstruct the harness ."
"Cat's dress was 40's inspired. It is a Rosa Clara dress: Hair design by KK and r on set Hair Stylist"

"Cat's dress was 40's inspired. It is a Rosa Clara dress: Hair design by KK and r on set Hair Stylist"Very interesting. But you know, I doubt it was KK that was sent flying through the air, it was her double. When she crashed on the table, her legs didn't look like KK's legs. Still her double needed to be in the same dress. I actually liked the dress, I just thought it really needed a bridal veil to go with it. The cool thing is we should get another chance to see Cat in a different wedding dress. This one was torn and bloodied by Liam. Assuming that VinCat do get married in this season or in S4, I think (hope) the next wedding will be more fairy tale like, without any interruptions. So Catherine Ashton will have had greater freedom to pick the perfect dress. I also think Cat will wear her hair differently next time. Something to look forward to.

Have to admit if I had to pick from this dress and her Smallville one I'd pick the Smallville one as much as I did like the BATB one the other one for me was just more elegant so fingers crossed we will get blown away with dress number 3 and they make it fairy tale without making it to mushy

Bad enough having V's bachelor party there, heaven forbid their wedding. While I agree that their "real" wedding will probably not be at a conventional place, I do expect it to be intimate and special. Whatever Cat wears, it will be her wedding dress, conventional or not. Regardless, I'm expecting something special and will hope for the fairy tale like ending.

I agree with you and hope they will deliver us a very special and romantic moment, like they did in the proposal! At least I hope so... And I think Cat will not wear a conventional wedding dress, but she will, certainly, be stunning
