I mostly liked this episode but was not very fond of Kat's wedding dress as has already been pointed out. There is not much I would have liked to change in this episide. I enjoyed this episode more than most in this season and I think it had the right amount of romance and I have no complaints about the wedding. It was the kind of wedding I had hoped they would have.
When the episode started and Tess and Kat were talking about Liam dredging up past beast cases I was amused to learn that Liam was literally dredging buried bodies and exposing them. He does have a weird sense of humour.
For a minute there I wondered how Vincent was going to get out of that one as Liam had him in a corner after being caught red handed at Windsor's grave and the evidence seemed not to be in his favour after all it was becoming a pattern of him claiming that he was being framed, ever since he came out of hiding. That agent that got killed by Liam didn't appear to be a fan of Vincent and Liam might have done Vincent a favour by killing him and not the the other guy.
At first I thought that the beast fight was too brief but then I realised that Vincent and Liam had fought a few times brfore and Vincent seemed to have lost and it was nice to have a clean win. After all we had such beast fights to end both season 1 and 2. I hope that in season 4 they find a different ending other than a beast fight.
I think it's been good that season 4 was being filmed while they aired season 3 and that way they have been getting feedback of what's been working and what needs to be fine tuned and hopefully they will try to incorporate all those aspects that are important to their audience. It must be a difficult task for showrunners to come up with a product that satisfies the expections of all of us. As a final episode to this series I was mostly happy with the episode. The only thing is that I liked Liam as a bad guy and would have liked to see again in season 4.

Warning!!! Lengthy detailed synopsis coming up.
I have now watched the episode for the second time and I won't go over the wedding scene again in any detail as I have made my own opinion clear on that. I am just glad that I liked it and am a little sad for those Beasts and Beasties who felt let down by it. It is a matter of opinion and I can't change the way I feel any more than I can change the opinions of anyone else who saw it.
I do feel that TPTB did try to cram a lot into the episode and that the action/plot part of the show was a bit of a rush. But blame the CW for that as they were the ones who only gave us 13 episodes.
The action appears to have moved on somewhat from the scene in the bar at the end of 3x12. Liam appears to have been busy dredging up all the Vigilante cases from Season 1 and the beast killings from season 2 in an effort to expose Vincent and get him arrested. Tess (at the precinct), Cat and Heather (at the apartment) are all trying to find ways to douse the flames. One point, I noticed Cat had the file of Eddie Long the arsonist beast from 'Hot Head' season 2. I seem to recall she was the one who killed him, not Vincent. She shot him when he refused to give himself up and she and Gabe unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate him, whilst Vincent was more concerned with saving his nephew Aaron from the burning building.
Vincent comes in and we see the scene from the sneak peek before Cat tells Vincent to see how far JT has got with the super-human serum, before he tries to tackle Liam. He kisses Cat then leaves for JT's. When he arrives JT tells him he will get killed if he tries to tackle Liam on his own without the serum. Vincent calms down a bit and they share a beer before the Police knock on the door. Vincent hides but the cops are there to arrest JT for a number of things including conspiracy and aiding and abetting. Vincent calls Cat who is now with Tess and tells her about JT and says he is gonna go after Liam. She tries to talk him out of it but to no avail. He tells her he loves her and hangs up.
Meanwhile Liam is at the cemetery and he's dug up the body of Curt Windsor and killed a night watchman. Vincent shows up looking for Liam and is soon surrounded by cops and feds and arrested. He spots Liam looking satisfied from behind a headstone. The feds (DHS) interview Vincent and it's like good cop, bad cop. One, Agent Russo, appears to sympathise with Vincent whilst his boss, Director Hernandez, is like 'you broke the law and there's never a justification for that, even if you say you were trying to save innocents'. They make it clear to Vincent that, although they don't yet have proof he's responsible for the vigilante and other deaths, they know he's connected and a little more digging and they will have him. Vincent looks like he knows the game is up.
Tess is trying to get JT released but is getting nowhere. Cat is running around trying to free Vincent when he calls out to her and they hug. He tells her he has 24 hours to 'think about his options with a view to a full confession'. He is contemplating taking the initiative and telling them everything, including what he is, as they are going to find out anyway. Cat is sceptical but seems to agree it's a risk they have to take. This is a nice little scene between them as Vincent reminds Cat of all they've been through and how they have to have a little faith that everything will work out. It's not the first time that Vincent has 'told the truth' about himself and put faith in someone as he did the same with Dana Landon and Henry Knox in season 2. JT is freed and meets Tess who tells him Vincent and Cat have made a deal with DHS. He gets a text from Vincent asking him to meet him at the hospital. We find out later that he asked JT to bring the healing serum with him.
Good Cop and Bad Cop (the DHS Agents) come to the hospital for a meeting with Vincent and find him with Cat. She tells them not to freak out before Vincent beasts-out to show them what he is. Cat explains that the cases will show that Vincent only ever used his powers to kill bad guys and other beasts and to save innocent people. Vincent adds that he could have killed them both just then and didn't so that should count for something. He tells them Liam is a beast but not like him so they should be working together to take him down. He explains that as an Apex Predator, they have to strike when he has dropped his guard. He outlines a plan where they have to convince Liam that his own plan has worked and that they have killed Vincent. Then he won't be expecting Vincent to take him down. The Agents pop out of the room to discuss the situation, Russo saying they have to trust Vincent and Hernandez disagreeing, just as someone in a lab coat appears and kills Hernandez, ripping out his heart. Russo shoots the attacker three times. At this point he thinks it's Vincent but of course it's Liam. Russo goes back in the room where Vincent and Cat are, pointing the gun at Vincent but in the next scene you see him supposedly knocked out by Vincent, who takes off his lab coat, hands it to Cat and tells her he 'loves her so much' before he runs off to the hospital roof, chased by a huge SWAT team. The gamble to tell all seems to have failed.
With it so far? Vincent runs and jumps off the roof, but as he leaps into the air, he's shot by one of the SWAT team and falls badly, landing in a heap on the ground. He's been shot in the shoulder but is bleeding from his nose. He looks dead. Cat looks over the edge of the roof and is obviously shocked and upset. Liam is standing nearby on the ground and hears Vincent's heart slowing then stop. His face is hard to read but he looks both sad and pleased if that makes any sense.
Next shot is Vincent being rushed into Hospital on a gurney with Cat by his side. Tess and JT have arrived and Russo tells JT where Vincent is and to hurry. Cat is dragged away by Tess as Russo reminds her that she can't be there if her 'plan' is to work. It now becomes clear that, without his bad cop boss in the way, Russo has chosen to put his faith in Vincent and Cat's ability to bring down Liam, who he is now convinced is the real threat.
Cat leaves with Tess not knowing if Vincent is alive. She confides in Tess that Vincent getting shot was not part of the plan and she could have lost him. But she is going to use her 'real' grief to convince Liam that Vincent is dead. Of course the plan will be a disaster if Vincent is ACTUALLY dead as there won't be anyone to save her from Liam.
Back in the hospital, Doctors are aghast that Vincent has no broken bones, despite falling 5 stories. Vincent has, however, flat-lined, due to being shot. JT plunges a syringe of serum into his neck and then Vincent is shocked with paddles, several times. Pure panic ensues as Russo and JT contemplate the consequences of Vincent not coming back. I'm surprised that JT isn't also worried that Vincent could revive but no longer be a beast at all. Again, no one to save Cat/bring down Liam.
In desperation, JT thumps Vincent in the chest who then gasps and sits up. Russo is now sure, if he wasn't before, that the person he shot three times was Liam and not Vincent as JT explains that the serum was extracted from Liam's blood. Vincent did not have the power to withstand bullets before he had the serum, hence the nearly dying part. Vincent has a quick drink of water then goes off to find Cat/Liam.
Meanwhile, Cat is at the apartment, looking at her bride and groom statue, when Liam appears behind her saying 'what a shame. Vincent is dead'. She gives a look of pure hatred before swinging a kick or two at his head. He knocks her to the floor before Heather comes in and tells him to leave her alone. He swings around to look at Heather who sprays him in the face with pepper spray. It seems to be a mild irritation to him and he appears to be going towards her when Cat tells him to leave Heather alone. She reminds him that he came for her, not Heather. These two scenes, the apartment and the hospital happen at the same time so they keep interchanging. The next thing of note is that Vincent comes into the apartment and is hugged by a very relieved Heather. While he questions her about Liam and Cat, he blurs into the bedroom to change out of his ripped and bloody t-shirt and out again
He tells Heather it will be hard to track Liam but Heather tells him she sprayed him with pepper spray so that Vincent COULD track him. He is delighted with Heather and kisses her affectionately (but not passionately) before leaving.
We then move to a very creepy, Phantom of the Opera-esque scene under the bowels of the city, where Liam has been living and has brought Cat. It's all decked up with Victoriana and Liam admits he's lived there since killing Rebecca two hundred years earlier. He also admits that since he lost his love, he only gets joy out of killing people and as it doesn't last long, he has to do it a lot. She reminds him that HE killed his love. He tells Cat he won't kill her quickly as he wants her to suffer, She likens him to a cat toying with a mouse and tells him Vincent never did that. He tells her Vincent had her to stop him crossing the primal line but she tells him that Vincent has more control than that and stops himself because he doesn't want to lose himself. She nearly gives that game away that Vincent may not be dead but manages to cover, saying the loss is still new to her (she can't believe he's gone etc.) She starts to say that, before she met Vincent. he had crossed the line but managed to cross back and so could Liam. She sews the seeds that he could try to change. She says he knows she is telling the truth about this. He looks at her in a strange way. He may have started to think about what she said. He may have been thinking about how much she was like Rebecca. He may have been about to kill her. We will never know, because we hear a beast growl as Vincent arrives at that moment and, While Liam's guard is down, Vincent kills him instantly by pulling out his heart. There is no beast-fight. Cat looks a little upset and relieved all at the same time. She may have thought she was making progress with Liam or she may have just been trying to distract him so Vincent could kill him. We may never know. Vincent hugs Cat to him as she cries, just realising maybe that Vincent is alive after she thought he could be dead.
The next scene is at the DHS office. Vincent and Cat are waiting to find out their fate. Russo comes in and it's mostly good news. They are grateful to Vincent for eliminating the threat that was Liam and for the lives it has saved. Vincent asks about the vigilante/beast killings and Russo says that they can pin most of them on Liam as he was a beast and in New York when they occurred, but not all of them can be put down to Liam. The others they will take off the hands of the NYPD to keep the heat off Vincent but Russo warns that he can't control the future. He says 'the Genie is now out of the bottle and can't be put back in'.
Next is the scene in the restaurant. Heather, JT and Tess are all in very good spirits. JT calls Liam the wicked witch and Tess says 'Ding Dong!' Heather is bragging about the pepper spray. Cat and Vincent just look relived it's all over. They all toast pepper spray and Rebecca and Alistair before Tess brings up the wedding, saying 'all that's left is to get you two married'. JT suggests they should do it 'tonight' . Tess says 'Yeah because we never know what's going to happen next with you two'. All the small impediments to the plan are brushed aside as Tess agrees to apply online to be ordained and Heather agrees that a wedding doesn't always need a lot of planning and they all jump up to go prepare.
I promised I would not go over the wedding again in any detail but forgot to mention a couple of points in my last post about it. I personally loved the up-beat music selection as the words were very relevant. I did a little lip-reading as Vincent walked onto the roof in his suit and said 'Wow' as he was clearly impressed with how they had decorated it and made it look pretty with all the twinkly lights and covering the wooden chairs with white sheets etc. I loved that Heather seemed a little 'merry' and was dancing with JT whilst sipping champagne that they had clearly already started on before Vincent arrived. There was champagne on ice and a little posy style bouquet for Cat. I thought she looked lovely. I was fine with the dress and the make-up was like that she wore on the roof at the end of 'About Last Night' in season two. I loved that Vincent told her she looked beautiful and brushed something off her chin, making her laugh, as Tess was doing her 'We are gathered here today......'bit. Finally, the way Tess's voice broke as she pronounced them 'man and wife'. She was overcome and so happy for them, after everything they went through.
There you go. It was a bumpy ride but we got there in the end. I think someone else said that.

It was a shame to lose him but I think if Liam lived on, we would have had no wedding. I was also not sure how I felt about the quick death of Liam but I think the point of it was that Vincent had to catch him off guard to kill him. Vincent got the healing serum but not the super-human powers. If there had been a lengthly fight Vincent would have lost. And we couldn't have that now could we!!

I caved in and have watched this episode off of the Showcase website, no real complaints from me. I loved it! There was no Vincent/Heather smooch IMHO, it was just Vincent being happy that Heather completed her part of the plan to bring down Liam. Yes the ep was a bit rushed (or another way to look at it, it went by really fast) and yes I think there are more gorgeous looking wedding dresses out there. But those are tiny nits. I thoroughly enjoyed the finale! The wedding actually brought tears to my eyes. What can I say? I'm a hopeless romantic, probably the reason I'm one of the few guys who's a diehard fan of the show.

My dear AlisongladaboutSeason4! Thank you for not letting me be alone in the optimist arena and your view about the VinCat displays of affection! I was getting a wee bit lonely! Here in the US, we have not seen episode 313 yet but I love my VinCat and totally feel that their love still burns for each other! [ Ditto! Imo I think anything more would've felt off. They were in front of people. This is probably one of the few episodes that I literally can not wait to watch again. VinCat love has matured a lot and as a whole I enjoyed the season very much. Each season has been so different, it wouldn't be right to compare the seasons. Wonderful! AlisongladaboutSeason4, raniamahd, jefferen and BeastieBoy! :group hug:My thoughts as well! They were constantly in danger, constantly on the run, constantly trying to live a life while on the verge of being discovered while like us all getting a little older! Wouldn't they just love to be as passionate as AMP, of course you know that they would but when could they let their guard down while juggling the stress they were under. As a whole, I too enjoyed this season and cannot wait to see 313 as well as Season 4!

This den, sadly, is my guilty pleasure alone. I actually feel like I cheated, cause I watched it without my wife. I'll watch it again with her when it airs on the CW. But I'm actually out of town on a biz trip that week. That's partly why I decided to watch it early, since I can't watch it live. Anyway, I really thought it was great finale! It hit all the right buttons for me. Can't wait for others to see it.

I have never seen a TV wedding more beautiful. Jay and Kristin brought their A game. They still have IT. Gosh, her tears, his voice cracking. I need to rewatch this episode at least dozen times to be able to write a full review but what a finale. Loved every second of it.

The only thing is that I liked Liam as a bad guy and would have liked to see again in season 4.I actually liked not having another epic beast fight, it's become a bit too cliche on BATB, since we had it in S1 & S2. I did really like the intensity of the scene with Cat & Liam. For me, that was the climax of the conflict and where the battle was won. I too would like to have more of Liam in S4, his underground lair was cool! It would seem Liam's gone for good. But then again, could his healing powers grow him a new heart? I'm sure if TPTB wanted Liam back they could create some crazy sci-fi reason for his return. I'm very satisfied with this finale. It had everything I hoped it would: excitement, drama, danger, suspense and just the right amount of VinCat "feels". The wedding scene was perfect for me.

AlisongladaboutSeason4 that was a tear Vincent was wiping off Catherine's chin. Think it was an unscripted moment but it felt so real. KK was of course tearing beautifully while saying her vows.

About the wedding dress. Somehow I have a feeling it was Rebecca's and that Liam had it stashed away in his lair. It certainly had that 1800s old century charm to it. It was never mentioned, but how else would Cat have it on such short notice? Her first wedding dress was ruined by Liam.
I could be completely wrong. But my hunch is that there was so much packed into this episode that perhaps some details like that got left out on the editing floor.

Want to comment a bit more. By far I think the best episode of the season! 301 comes pretty close but the VinCat wedding sealed the deal for me.
The VinCat feels the entire episode was perfect. I got chills every time Vincent said I love you so much to Cat. I really felt like you couldn't be sure or he couldn't be sure if it was really gonna be the last time he said it to Cat. The looks they gave each other too was so heart melting. Each interaction they had it was so intense you felt like they felt that at any moment it could be their last moments together.
I loved the Fab5 scene at the coffee shop, I love that all of them were finally able to relax and have a few laughs. I found myself laughing & smiling with them.
And I can't say enough about the wedding. I thought it was perfect!! Loved the VinCat vows. I feel like almost Jay & Kk just ad-libbed the personal VinCat vows. They were great. I was crying! And the kiss was perfect! It had the right amount of passion in it. Just beautiful. I just can't believe we have to wait 9 months for it to come back. I just want more. This show always leaves me want more:)
