It was a really rushed episode. I think it has to do with the shortened season. Vincent rips Liam's heart out, at a moment when he's contemplating whether he can really return from crossing the primal line. The way Jason Gedrick played it, I think he really was considering what Catherine said, but he never got the chance. Could they have had an epic battle? Yes, but we all know that Vincent would have lost. Cos Liam is superhuman as well. So this is the only way, really, to defeat him.
It was a nice fake out back at the hospital. I really thought DHS was chasing after Vincent once Hernandez was murdered.
We got our rooftop wedding with the most important people there. For that I have to give the TPTB that some slack. Lovely, lovely words pledged by Vincent and Catherine to each other.
Background music not so great in this episode. Not as memorable and appropriate I felt, not like in episode one. But oh well.
C'mon people! We got our happy ending! On the rooftop! Celebrate that at least.
And here's to pepper spray!

It wasn't a smooch. Vincent was just so happy that Heather had sprayed Liam with Pepper spray, allowing him to track him and find Cat. He says something congratulatory like 'atta girl' then goes off in search of Cat. His 'one true love'. Direct quote from the wedding scene. The bringing down of Liam is a group effort. Everyone plays their part, including Heather, and it just goes to show that Vincent is surrounded by people who love him, not just Cat but Heather, Tess and JT too. It's in stark contrast to Liam who had nobody.

Agree with texasscotian about the wedding dress. Better than the earlier one, but still.... Ok nitpicking! KK is still gorgeous and I'm still glad we got the wedding. And getting ordained online seems to be real (never knew that), at least in five of the boroughs in New York.

Like many others I am sure, the link I can usually rely on was not up and working so I reluctantly went to bed around 3am. It's a Bank Holiday here in the UK so I got up at 11am and, thank God, link working at last.
I am going to come down on the other side of the discussion. I am generally a very positive person and find it hard to be critical of my BATB. I have watched the whole episode once and the wedding scene twice. I re-watched the wedding because, IMHO it was lovely. Beautiful in fact. I felt that, although JT brought up the idea of the wedding being that night, Vincent and Cat were very much into the idea. Vincent hesitated and looked at Cat because he knew that the last time they discussed it, she said they should wait a while and the previous attempt had been so traumatic. But her smile told him that she wanted it and as soon as she gave him that affirmation he was good to go. I loved the fact that they all just got up from the table at the same time and rushed off to get ready. No words needed. I hope they paid the Bill!!
Personally, I always wanted a quiet wedding on the rooftop. All the people that mattered were there. No top brass from the NYPD or the hospital to make it less intimate. I also really liked the lightness of the whole thing after what was a very dark episode, and the vows they exchanged were beautiful, Cat was tearing up, Vincent just couldn't stop smiling at her and the kiss (or should I say kisses) at the end were perfect. It's hard to get that right. You can't have two people french kissing at their wedding but you don't want an embarrassed and impersonal peck either. They did their usual double kiss, then as the other three starting whooping and turned around to hug each other, Vincent put his hands on either side of Cat's face and kissed her some more. They were in the moment together just for a few more seconds until the champagne corks started popping.
There was a lovely moment just after that when Cat threw the bouquet at Tess. who was surprised and failed to catch it. Vincent picked it up and gave it back to Cat so that she could throw it at Tess again, who caught it this time to cheers all round. even JT. For me, weddings should be about happiness not gravity. It's the reason my own wedding was not in a church but a registry office and all my friends were there to celebrate it with me, all creeds colours and religeons. I personally can't understand the need for more 'gravity'. Save the gravity for funerals. This was a wedding. Was the love on show? Yes it was, bucket loads of it. Was it romantic? Hell yeah. Did I cry along with Cat when she and Vincent were exchanging vows? Yes and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Did we want to wait until Season 4 to see them married. NO WAY!!! I may be easily pleased but I loved everything about it. The main thing was that they looked soooo happy.
I will re-watch the whole episode and give you all my comments on how the rest of the episode played out later.

Yes the wedding was short, but there is nothing really I would've changed except cats dress. Loved everyone in that scene so much. But bc the link was late going up I can't write a more detailed opinion and review til later...be back!

Good Morning My Dear Beasties and Beasts, I am in the Midwest of the US currently and so I have not, nor am I going to try to see this episode before it is actually available via CW. I plan to have it streaming through the house to be counted numerous times and whichever room I watch in those fantastic faces can be seen. I purposely scanned all the way down and over the last post in this thread to just give each one of you a hug for helping make this Forum, our DEN, so wonderfully encouraging and inviting! I am planning to post after those of us here view the episode and hope to have some Beasties join in sharing their thoughts on our final episode for Season 3 and to encourage each other to hang on until Season 4. As to what that will hold, HOPE springs eternal because I so love this GEM of a show, although at times episodes may have appeared a bit tarnished and lackluster. And foremost, I love our BATB cast and crew, Kristin, Jay, Austin, Nina, Heather, Max, Ted, Sendhil, our short-lived Newbie Jason (fantastic man and actor who jumped right in to show his love to the fans), Sherri, Jennifer, Catherine A and Stu! The whole BATB experience elegantly showed how being an imperfect and not always attractive underdog does not diminish one's sole beautiful and that is our show's take away for me and my perspective on it! Until September 10th I'll just do my wonderfully refreshing re-watches and occasionally re-write scripts in my head!

Well, I know that there is no right or wrong, it all depends of the point of view. But I have learned my lesson: the show that I fell in love with does not exist anymore. I don't have any expectations about BATB. At least I decided that I don't want to have anymore... They didn't even care about to give us a REAL KISS IN THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!! I decided that I am gonna take a break, heal myself from this addiction I had once in my life and focus in other beautiful things life has to offer. After all, it is just a tv show and I can't suffer so much for that!!!! For me it is clear: BRAD KERN & CIA ARE COMPLETELY INCAPABLE OR THEY JUST DON'T WANT TO GIVE WHAT THE HUGE PART OF THE FANS WANTS. They really made a mess with the characters and the story... So I will watch season 4, yes. More for loyalty to my words and for curiosity. But I won't be cheated by their speaches anymore. IMO it's too difficult to fix things and I am sure that it won't be different from season 3, because the people who are responsible now for the show just can't see it the way that the two women who created it imagined it. Once in a while I will came here to say hello! Aw, and I will vote like crazy in PCA, if JR gets nominated (wich I have serious doubts). SEE YOU. I LOVE MY BEASTIES FRIENDS!!

OK so I just did a rewatch, and to my surprise, I liked it much better the 2nd time around. What I really wish, is that maybe we could have seen whether or not Liam would have had a change of heart. I would have liked to have had Catherine kidnapped in last week's episode, and then concentrating on the whole Liam changing his ways issue. I seriously doubt he would have seen the errors of his ways, but it would have been nice to see that storyline played out. Then we could have ended the whole Liam story at the beginning of this episode, and have spent more time on the wedding.
I still felt the whole restaurant scene was a bit too silly for my tastes. And to be honest.. I think Nicole is the cutest thing since puppy dogs, but as Heather, she was just crawling up and down my last good nerves in that scene. Well the wedding scene too. I loved her scene when she's on the phone with Tess wanting to know if Vincent's still alive or not, and then he comes busting through the door. That was cute; I too would have been so happy to see my brother - in - law alive, that I would have been giving him a giant hug as well. Hug yes... but kiss no.
So the whole "dig" at Catherine - "at least you weren't the one who shot him this time", by JT, I kind of felt was a low blow. I know it was meant to be funny.. but it just did not tickle my funny bone. I mean is it just me who felt that way? Am I reading too much into the scene?
The wedding scene - well Vincent wiping away Cat's tears was sweet and tender. Still not so crazy about the vows; still wish we could have spent more time on the wedding itself, but overall, I guess I'd give this episode an 7.5 - 8.

Yes take time to focus on other beautiful things life has to offer and I look forward to your dropping in to say hello whenever you can! And do vote like crazy with us in the PCA, definitely if Jay finally gets proper recognition. LOVE YOU RIGHT BACK MY BEASTIE BEAUTY!

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean about the kiss. I know I'm English and we are supposed to be reserved in comparison to the rest of the world but I thought the kiss was perfect. They are not alone and in private. They are kissing at the end of a wedding in front of friends and family. I counted 10 seconds. I think any longer than that would have been too much. They have to save something for the wedding night don't they? I am still holding out for a bit of that in the first scene in season 4. Ever the optimist.

Thank you for not letting me be alone in the optimist arena and your view about the VinCat displays of affection! I was getting a wee bit lonely! Here in the US, we have not seen episode 313 yet but I love my VinCat and totally feel that their love still burns for each other!

They were in front of people. This is probably one of the few episodes that I literally can not wait to watch again. VinCat love has matured a lot and as a whole I enjoyed the season very much. Each season has been so different, it wouldn't be right to compare the seasons.
