Jefferen, I could also see it going even a step farther, if the writers REALLY wanted to mess with us (and our fears, too). You could have Vincent find out that there is something inherent in his beast condition that if he continues to make use of his beast side, he will die early (strain on his heart or nervous system or something). And Vincent feels guilty for being with Cat knowing that his condition keeps her somewhat isolated and that he will ultimately leave her alone soon if he cannot find a way to truly be normal. Yet Vincent can't not help victims that have been experimented on like he himself was. And Cat would be facing her own issues with knowing how she is now so entwined with Vincent that she cannot imagine her life without him (and vice versa). So would really play upon each other's worst fears (and ours that we could lose our VinCat!). So primal fear could cover a wide range of issues, both temporary and potentially permanent. Sounds like one of those pivotal moments where Cat and Vincent are forced to confront what their lives may lead to.

Really curious to see how they write this episode. Especially since S3 has been hinted that V's beasting out will risk his life and ultimately his and Catherine's love

Since we now know that "primal" is one of those word-themes for the season, I am PARTICULARLY interested to see this episode now. I am wondering if the scene is a nightmare from Vincent's worst fears of beasting-out while working at the hospital and the danger that would pose to people around him. Especially if Vincent heard that something had happened to Catherine while she was at work. Vincent can't just leave his shift at the hospital and would be expected to let other doctors and staff tend to Catherine.
(And we DO know that JT will eventually be tortured/injured, so how Vincent handles THAT in the moment--remember in 212 when he started throwing things around at the Gentlemen's Club when learning JT had been kidnapped? Vincent couldn't calm down enough really to formulate a plan. And we all know how THAT ended, when everyone wasn't coordinating their efforts. So Vincent's Primal Fears can be how he can become useless in his Beast-state, when he most needs to be able to form a plan--he has to leave that to Catherine most times (and JT and Tess). But if he doesn't have them near him to help him or control him . . . .Presents some very interesting plot-points for the season. So this episode will probably play in to Vincent's worst fears.

Tess has, what four brothers total? I know she tells how many in the Pilot episode. They've only mentioned casting one at this time, but I guess there could be mention of other meetings of JT, Tess and her brothers that occur offscreen. Or maybe they will cast some of the others. Would take a LOT of the budget to cast Tess' whole family! Tess mentions her brothers in the 2nd episode... "2 of my 5 brothers met their wifes on the force..." Tess has, what four brothers total?
