I was expecting Liam to really try to kill Cat (not just the dream), with the cliff hanger being that Vincent thought she died. In my version of this episode, Vincent would be left in anguish and desperation, thinking Liam had killed Cat. Only to find out at the start of the S3 finale, the next episode, that Reynolds had in fact saved Cat and died saving her. So the actual version of this episode was a bit of let down for me, only because I had let my own imagination runaway with ideas prior to viewing the episode. That's the trouble with these misleading previews. On the CW they always play the next preview right at the end of the show, so it's hard not to watch 'em. Do you think Liam has Cat here? Yes, that was my initial reaction when I saw the promo for the next ep. But given how the misleading some of the promos have been, it wouldn't surprise me if it turns out to be someone else.

Get ready to get frustrated at how MANY commercials there are!! I swear the show didn't come close to being even 40 minutes!! Even if the network isn't getting big numbers rating wise, they sure as heck are getting their money's worth out of advertising!!

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!! WE GET THE EPPY TODAY!!!!!!!!!!! OH BOY OH BOY OHBOY OHBOY ONGHKDGKSGNKJKSDF!! (Yes, I have gone non-verbal due to my excitement, I freely admit it!)
I do still feel that there is too much to be wrapped up in one episode, especially given the amount of commercial time that has happened this season. You can even see this reflected in how long the episodes are on ITunes. One of the pivotal episodes of this season actually ended up being only 38 minutes long without the commercials, and that was still with the recap included, making the episode only about 36 minutes in actual length! And that SERIOUSLY cramps VinCat time on my screen, especially when you add in plot.
I will be ultimately happy with what I get, but I still feel this episode should have been 2 hours in length. That way, we could get time to explore Liam in depth and Cat's potential effect on him. I mean, when you have a destined-style confrontation between the guy that killed your ancestor over a love gone wrong, ESPECIALLY when Bob Reynolds' own involvement blurred the lines between Rebecca and Catherine. . . . The potential is there for some great television, assuming Liam comes after Catherine. Which you KNOW he would feel compelled to do.
Liam is just one of those bad guys that you FINALLY want to know all about. What has been his motivation since he murdered Rebecca? I mean, did he really just spend a couple hundred years just plotting revenge against the Ellingsworths? That gives a whole new meaning to revenge being a dish best served cold!
And I would love to know if Catherine actually does resemble Rebecca--I always took the flashbacks to be Catherine's imagining of what could have happened rather than what actually DID happen. I now want to know how much Catherine was like Rebecca, and that is knowledge that Liam would know. It sounds like he might HAVE loved Rebecca initially and saw his relationship with her as being his one real chance at having a real family, something worthwhile to live for rather than revenge, only to have her ultimate rejection feel like the ultimate betrayal. So having actual episode TIME to explore what he had with Rebecca, how he lost it, and what effect it had, especially if (when) he goes after Catherine.
And THAT is the problem with having only ONE hour for this episode--me wants/NEEDS time for a VinCat wedding, which leaves little time for Liam. So I feel that I will be ultimately shortchanged somehow. Because I want sufficient time to wallow in, roll around in, thoroughly enjoy and delight in a VINCAT WEDDING. All else must necessarily be shortened to give me proper BASKING TIME in the WONDERFULNESS of this perfect and priceless event!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
COME ON CLOCK, STOP MOVING SO SLOW!!!!!!!! I'VE WAITED AN OBSCENE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE EPISODE'S EVENT THAT I AM EXPECTING TO SEE TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! Still 9 hours, 40 minutes left AND COUNTING!!!!!!!!!
