Oh Season 1 HAIR as well!!! The blessings keep coming!! (Umm, as long as it is NOT early S1 Vincent Wig!!) I can't HELP but be excited on this one. And BEASTIEBOY, I was AT LEAST staying away from the pics! I will just blame you for my exposure RATHER than accepting personal responsibility for willingly pursuing the link (SOUNDS like shades of BATB S2 characters in refusing to admit I WILLINGLY surrendered to the call of the spoiler pics)! This episode has SO much potential. HOWEVER, I anticipate some fans not liking the "alternate universe" approach, especially since comic book world is ALL about this. But I LOVED this in "Fringe," and I CAN'T WAIT to see what BATB does with this!! BeastieBoy, I may set the bar HIGHER for this episode. . . . I know, probably foolish of me given that this is STILL under Kern's watch. But I wonder how they will pull this off? Is Vincent in a coma/unconscious due to being captured? LOL, yeah right. This from the person who begs the Canadian & early viewers to spoil her with every detail before watching.

OK, since the title was a dead give away to the plot, I broke another one of my personal rules and peeked at the photos. Catherine with her S1 long hair and Vincent with his scar! I'm very much looking forward to this episode. I just know that with the scar and the look on his face, that imma gonna cry like a baby..........

Add me to the list of crying like a baby if Vincent pleads to Catherine to know him/love him, and she rejects what she doesn't know or arrests him. REMEMBER, it was Catherine that told a Vincent with no memory that he WOULD fall in love with her all over again because it was destiny. Wonder if Vincent will repeat the same thing? Wow. I can think of SO many possibilities for this one!!! I'm so freaking excited!!!
And I HAVE to WAIT 3 weeks for this one?
(I am caving and SURRENDERING to go review any sensitive spoilers for this episode. I had resisted on the early episodes in preference of trying to learn how it would all end. NOW, I am just dying to know any and all about this one.)

Don't let yourself get too carried away alwayscrazedbatbfan. It's a trick I tell you, it's a trick. Don't fall for it! They're luring us into thinking they can recreate the magical VinCat of S1 with those pics, but don't fall for it! Leave your expectation bar low on the ground. If by some miracle they do pull off the magic of S1 in this episode, then and only then can we rejoice.

I can't help but get excited about this episode, however, I am aware that it might not give us the old S1 feel we all hope for. Only way to know is to wait and see I guess!

With this episode, Brad Kern actually GETS AWAY WITH having little to no chemistry/love between VinCat for the majority of the episode, as the bulk of the episode should be Vincent seeing Cat's life without him. And he wouldn't be pursuing her at first due to thinking she has a happy life WITHOUT him and without having to go into hiding/protect him. So we are actually to EXPECT no VinCat lovey/dovey scenes during THAT part. If this was under Sherri and Jenn's watch, I would STILL expect to see that automatic PULL between the two, right from the start. No matter what. But this is Kern-sville.
(Although I BETTER see Vincent mournfully unhappy without his Catherine. SUPPOSEDLY the whole premise for this dream/coma/WHATEVER glimpse into what-could-have-been is Vincent feeling that Cat could have had a BETTER and more meaningful life without him, since they are going to have to go into hiding. BAD VINCENT for thinking this, of course.)
Where it SHOULD get lovey/dovey is Cat saying at the end of the episode that she would ALWAYS take life with Vincent over anything else, no matter where they have to go or how they have to live, as long as it is TOGETHER. (BUT this IS Brad Kern we are talking about, so that probably gets messed up. Sigh.)
SMALLVILLE did a similar premise during Season 7. Clark believes Lana would be better off without him, and Lana isn't even IN the episode, as she supposedly married some great guy in France and had two children with him. As always, there IS a twist, and Clark ended up seeing that he IS necessary and needed. Smallville revisted the same premise by having Chloe lose her memories (temporarily, of course) regarding Clark and his secret, as Clark thought the burden was not worth it to her. Again, you have Chloe reassuring him that she IS where she wants to be, once she gets the memories back, and no matter the cost to her. After all, she, too, has to go into hiding at one point (although that was REALLY because Allison Mack was only going to do a limited amount of episodes in S10).
So with it being the CW, I naturally expect them to re-tread familiar territory, plotlines and endings. STILL, I can't HELP but be excited on this one. Wondering if Evan became a bad-guy with Muirfield anyways, wondering if Muirfield STILL exists, wondering if Catherine will feel that NATURAL PULL to Vincent when she meets him, no matter the circumstances. . . . WISH they would make this a TWO EPISODE event, with a "to be continued" at the end of the first hour. HOWEVER, we all know this is not the case.

WISH they would make this a TWO EPISODE event, with a "to be continued" at the end of the first hour. HOWEVER, we all know this is not the case. What I remember about that Smallville episode from season 7 is that they messed it up because they showed that the people closest to Clark were better off. His parents had adopted a kid they named Clark and his dad was still alive and they were on some cruise or something. Lana was seemingly married to a French philanthropist fighting world hunger and they had two kids, Chloe was dating some hunky Firefighter or EMT and seemed perfectly content. Of course Lex Luthor was president but as spoiler alert, the way the show ended, Lex was still president in the future anyway so that didn't change whether Clark was around or not. LOL Of course Sville by then had the show runners who didn't do such a great job with S1 of Beauty. I think one of the problems with the show's story from the beginning was by making Muirfield so active and killing Evan and her father, it makes Cat and Vincent seem very selfish. Unless you don't love anyone else, would you date someone if you knew being around them would put all of your friends and family at risk. I thought one of the storylines they could have done was to have Heather call out Cat for being responsible for their father's death. It also would have tied in nicely to those scenes they should have left in the pilot between Heather and Cat. Even when Evan was killed, the subway scene was nice as far as the acting, but the emphasis on stopping Muirfield seemed to be more so that they could be together rather than that Muirfield had killed her mother, Evan, all the soldiers, etc. which was especially odd for someone who was a cop. Much as I enjoyed Fake Date, that scene where they are willing to let Gabe get away with murder, and of a witness Cat promised to protect, as long as he doesn't expose Vincent, was even worse.

I like the sound of this episode! It has so much potential! I'm not sure on the pregnancy idea...hmmm it does open alot of potential plot and I guess it would bring a reason to bring this episode. Assuming she was pregnant, Cat was freaking out, thinking how is the baby going to be half beast; then Vincent would think it would be less complicated for Cat if he wasn't in the picture. I don't know, if they did do the pregnancy thing...I think it would be interesting if the writers dealt with that issue; how is Cats pregnancy going to go. I'm dreading the Twilight scenero lol But it'll be dramatic if they decided to make Cat sick as a result, or have bad side effects...Hmm. I kinda prefer before Cat got pregnant they'd plan it and talk about those potential issues. With JTs science and Vincent a doctor, they could talk about it. But it does bug me abit if it happened unexpectedly because you'd think realistically..yes accidents can happen but of course in Vincats situation you'd be extra careful for obvious reasons lol. Anyway I like the idea with Max back! Why am I dreading a scene with Cat and Evan together like kissing? Possibly Cat pregnant? Thing is...I have a feeling Evan would've gotten involved with beasts somehow anyway..Like from investigating the bodies so if that's the case hmm..

WISH they would make this a TWO EPISODE event, with a "to be continued" at the end of the first hour. HOWEVER, we all know this is not the case. You know there was another Smallville episode which was similar to this theme. It was the SV Season 5 episode called "Lexmas". "Lexmas" was actually more of a homage to the Nicolas Cage/Tea Leoni movie called "Family Man". A movie which itself was a modern day twist on "It's a Wonderful Life". I enjoyed Lexmas far better than the S7 ep you're referring to. It showed what Lex's life might be if he turned to good instead of evil. Lex ends up with Lana, enjoying a very happy life without money or the trappings of Luthorcorp. But then ironically at the end, Lana dies tragically giving birth to their next child. That was a real tear jerker of an episode. If the showmakers do 405 right, it should be quite a tear jerker as well. There is just so much potential, but I'm so afraid they'll screw it up. I really hope I'm wrong and that they do deliver to expectations. We'll see.

My hunch is 405 will be similar to SV's Lexmas episode in some ways. Dang it, just spoiled myself again! Fingers crossed for this episode, I hope Dondrea's tweet is right! Please please please BATB gods , just make this episode one to rival the best from S1!

Please please please BATB gods , just make this episode one to rival the best from S1! How I H-A-T-E-D "Lexmas"!!! Seriously, I loathed it with every fiber of my being! I thought the ending was a powerful portrayal of how very warped Lex Luthor had become. He had a opportunity to see a future of happiness if he turned his life around and followed a path of truth and virtue and love. But instead he chose to continue down a murderous and power hungry path. Lana became an object to control. He never loved her and Clark stood by and watched it all happen. The only story I tolerate going back and seeing "what life would be like if........" is "Scrooge" and "It's a Wonderful Life". If this episode is a "What if Cat had never met Vincent..............." I honestly don't think I will like it. We will see what BATB's take is on the Theme, but I think it is a terrible way to bring back Max Brown for that kind of episode. A truly exciting episode would have been to see if Muirfield "rebooted" Evan and he became a Super Human/ Beast as well. But then again, he may have to die again and that would have been sad. Evan was a good character, I think he deserves a dramatic reboot not a "look back, what if......." scenario. Oh well. I haven't seen 4x03 "Down for the Count" yet. So I hope the episodes are improving so that by the time I see 4x05 I will be able to enjoy BATB. So far I am 50-50 on this season so far.

Although I'm usually opposed to ending the series with a beast baby, I would find it super cute that they made cat pregnant with Evans kid on this episode and V would hear its heartbeat and when Vincent wakes up he notices that he still hears the second heartbeat.. Also I'm super happy that Max is coming back for this episode. Killing Evan was one of the worst decisions ever...well..before Kern. All in all I feel this is going to be an amazing episode and hope they execute it as greatly as it sounds.
